Lloyd Keith Mitchell; Phony arrested in St Johns County, FL (UPDATED)
Lloyd Keith Mitchell was a phony who came to the attention of the local sheriff’s department when he submitted a DD214 to get a “Veteran” status on his driver license;
On a date in January of this year the suspect submitted a military discharge form to obtain “Veteran” status on his Driver’s License which also listed Mitchell as being the recipient of the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, the Silver Star with clusters and the Vietnam Medal of Honor.
Detectives then contacted the NCIS at Mayport and learned that not only did Mitchell not serve in the U.S. Navy, there is no record of him serving in any military branch.
The story at the St Johns County Sheriff Department reports that he also gave an hour-long presentation on his pretend military service at local Veterans’ Day, including his pretend service in the War on Terror. I hope it was all worth it for the 65-year-old.
UPDATE: According to First Coast News, Mitchell was pretending to be a retired Admiral;
Mitchell, 65, caught the attention of investigators after the Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous tip in March that he was presenting himself as a retired Admiral, even allegedly making an hour-long presentation at the Coquina Crossing’s Veterans Day celebration.

Maybe they can hang this Safety Poster near his cell.

Well, well; hope the harder inmates at the St. Johns county lockup deliver plenty of “hearty handshakes and warm cups of soup” to this dick head.
I’m sure that Bubba & Thor have put him in his place in that County lockup!
I’m sure that he’s gonna be a connoisseur of the “cock meat sandwich” while in the hands of the local sheriff…
Y’know, I’ve been wondering what the meaning of that term is for the longest time, but google searching it just brings me repeated instances of that phrase on this site.
Well, here ya go – explanation time, courtesy of Harold and Kumar.

(Warning – probably NSFW or around children/clergy/prudes.)
Edited to add: if you’re asking about the “handshake . . . soup” phrase, that may well be a Green Thumbism that originated here.
Oh no, I knew about the cockmeat sandwich, I just didn’t know what the hearty handshake and a warm cup of soup thing was.
I asked the same question last weekend, as the expression is used here often. And no one seemed able to explain it. Weird.
The term “a hearty handshake and a warm cup of soup” was coined by Jonn a few moths ago.
This is when the DRC started with their legal actions against the so-called threats that were made by us commenters, so,,,,,,,,,,,,, when Jonn saw a comment that was describing bodily harm to someone, he would replace the statement with “a hearty handshake and a warm cup of soup”
Oh.. now that makes sense. Cuz I even asked a Navy vet at work (about mid-40s in age), and he had no idea what it meant.
Thanks, OIF. 🙂
He must have submitted a DD214 in crayon.
Splash. Out.
Wonder if the 214 he showed them was a really bad cut and paste job? Something must have caught the attention of the folks at the DMV and we all know they are always the sharpest knives in the drawer.
He spelled naval veteran as navel veteran and an eagle eyed DMV clerk asked him about the orange crop…
Hahahaha !
South Carolina shows indicates Veteran on the drivers licence.
They go over the DD-214 very carefully and do not hesitate to tell you te get a certified copy before they will even look at it
Maryland has that as well. You have to bring in a DD-214 or your Honorable Discharge certificate (Originals, not copies).
It’s the same for Kentucky, they take it seriously.
Play stupid Games win Stupid Prizes… Or if you are going to lie… Lie big NOT ! !
Dumb Ass…
Vietnam Medal of Honor?
And why, oh why, do they always have to throw in the Silver Star?
At least he didn’t claim SEAL or Ranger.
OC
As a lowly cadet I once had the pleasure of speaking to a young man on the NYC subway who claimed to be a 2-year program grad of Annapolis who sported a SEAL tattoo…. He never thought he’d see me again, and when I spotted him at the end of the weekend at the same subway stop without it, he threw on a sweater and ran up the stairs. Pathetic fool..
Wait a minute…. the dude had a SEAL tattoo, and then a couple days later didn’t ????
Good point.., but why in this day and age would you want to lie in the first place… Turds are all over the news getting busted
Channel 2 News:
Matt: “And when we come back from the break, we’ll find out if those gathering clouds will rain on the weekend–plus, Lou is standing by for another “Busted Turd” report.”
Lou: “That’s right, Matt. And wait till you see the stinking turd we busted this week! Stay tuned.”
Bahaha bahaha

What the hell is the allure of veteran license plates? The only reason why I have them is because it might make a cop think twice before he writes the speeding ticket.
No such thing as “free” veteran’s plates here in the Snake River Plain.
They consider them as “customized” plates. In addition to the normal registration fees, they cost $50.00 extra for the first year of issue, then an extra $30.00 per year thereafter.
Also, no type of “Red V” or anything like that on any versions of drivers licenses.
Claiming to be an Admiral when he’d never even served, eh?
Well, if you’re gonna lie – I guess you might as well lie big.
I’ll bet Bubby and Junior will promote him to REAR Admiral, LOWER half while he’s in prison.
Even though I was in the army…I get that joke. Well done, sir.
Lloyd is just another dork in the never-ending parade of these wannabe fakes. As bobo asked, what the heck is the point of lying like this just to get veteran auto tags??
65 year old? I guessed he missed that “other” war. During that other war, the military was drafting people and were hiring as well.
Phuck him.
Speaking of stupid people doing stupid things, I was over at the restaurant on the highway, talking to a friend of mine about getting vet’s plates for my chariot next year.
He said I should hold off on that for a bit, because these cockamamie idiot wannabe terroristas are just looking for military or ex-military people to kill. He’s a Cold War vet (has pix of himself with Pres. Reagan in the bunker from that visit). He told me that he has taken EVERYTHING related to his military background off his truck. In his words, better safe than sorry.
So, getting plates you don’t deserve, or claiming awards you never earned or a military life you didn’t have and putting all that phony crap on the internet really just makes you a target for those crapweasels. If someone craves attention that much, get some professional help with your problem, you moron.
(No offense meant to real weasels or actual morons.)
That makes me wonder who any poser or embellisher targeted by terrorists will bawl to?
