Friday the 13th feel good stories
Our first story comes from Oklahoma;
Upon arrival [the police] found Kejuan Shields and Demario Harris dead inside an apartment. Police say the resident was the shooter.
Homicide detective Sgt. Dave Walker says Shields, Harris and a third suspect were involved in a disagreement outside the resident’s apartment. When the resident and a friend retreated into the apartment, Shields, Harris and the third suspect broke through the door and began assaulting the resident’s friend.
The resident told police one of the suspects had a handgun.
Walker says the resident, who is wheelchair bound, shot and killed Shields and Harris and the third suspect escaped through a bedroom window. That suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet 7 and 150 pounds, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.
Next up is Michigan;
“There was a poker game occurring at one of the apartments, and we know at least one person, maybe two, had gone to the game to rob the participants,” [Chief of Police Don Pussehl Jr.] said. “That’s what started this whole thing.”
The double shooting happened at 11:47 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at Camelot Place Apartments, 122 Ivanhoe, Pussehl has said.
One of the poker players had a handgun, and gunfire was exchanged between the suspect and one of the players, Pussehl said.
The robbery suspect was fatally shot and another poker player at the apartment was injured, Pussehl said. The injured poker player was in stable condition at Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw.
Our last stop today is Virginia;
The preliminary investigation indicates he broke a window and went inside the home, where she lives with her toddler daughter, said spokeswoman Holly McPherson.
The call initially came in as a burglary in progress and while officers were heading to the home, she called again to report the shooting, McPherson added.
They arrived and found a 25-year-old man who’d been shot.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment; the woman and child weren’t hurt.
Police say the woman and man don’t know each other.
Those stories came from Chief Tango. Here’s a bonus story from Florida where a homeowner teamed up with police to end a shootout with with burglars;
JSO Director Tom Hackey said two teenagers were in a home on West 30th Street about 2 p.m. when a couple of men somehow broke into the home. The teenagers called their father, who works nearby. Police responded to a burglary-in-progress call, arriving at the same time as the father arrived home.
Officer Matthew Kreuger saw one of the suspects climbing out the window, pulled his taser and ordered the person to surrender. About that time, shots were fired at the officer, who pulled his gun and fired back. The second suspect appeared and more gunfire was exchanged.
When the officers came around the front of the house, the homeowner was holding one suspect at gunpoint, and that suspect had a gunshot wound to his shoulder. That suspect was taken UF Health Jacksonville with non-life-threatening injuries.
Hackney said the homeowner had also fired his gun, so it wasn’t clear who shot the first suspect.
Personally, if the police were there, I’d choose to put my gun away and let them do their jobs. It would lessen the chance that I’d get misidentified as a bad guy. But, I’m glad this one worked out for the forces of good.
Category: Feel Good Stories
On the first story, would it be “WAAAAACIST” of me to speculate on the melanin skin content of the two dead perps, based on their names, and the description of their escapee friend?
Sounds like the escapee is another of Obozo’s “sons”, and Trayvon’s step brother.
No, that would make you a statistician. And a quite good one at that.
B Woodman…”described as a black male, about 5 feet 7 and 150 pounds, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.” I agree. What the hell’s racist about that? If it said “Male, 150 pounds, 5 feet 7 and wearing a hoodie”, How does it narrow down who they look for? But then that would be “sexist”, so 5 feet, 150 pounds wearing a hoodie”. I guess is best these days. People just can’t call a spade a spade anymore.
For Friday the 13th buffs here’s a bit of Trivia you might find interesting.
2015 has 3 Friday the 13ths, February, March, and November. After this year the next time there will be 3 Friday the 13ths will be in 2026 when the same months will drop the same dates…then in 2037 again the same three months and then in 2040 when it will be January, April, and July…
If bad guys meet their maker in each of those years on those Fridays they will indeed be good years as well.
Veritas Omnia Vincit…I keep track of that as well!!!
Cause…I was born on Friday the 13th, at 1300 hours, Bed 13 of Ward 13, RAF Brize Norton Hospital, when my father was serving. Got it right on my Department of State Birth Certificate too. Notice I left out the year. Still got some age issues going. 😀
Folks lived in a small trailer park off post next to the flight line parking ramps. Mama said she dried the clothes on the line by timing when the Convair B-36 “Peacemaker” Bombers would crank up their engines for prefight. The warm propwash came off the ramps about 150 yards away, the concrete of which came up to the chainlink fence next to our trailer and dried them in nothing flat. She said she had all the wash ready to hang and if she was fast, could get the whole weeks wash dried in about 30 or 40 minutes. All the trailer park wives did the same and the aircrews would wave as they arrived in the alert-ready vehicles to their planes.
Sparks, tell me it wasn’t 1913. 😉
OC
OC…No my friend. Feel I’m that old sometimes but as long as I’m on the green side of the grass…I wake up happy. 😀
I knew I liked you for a reason you weirdo!! (smile)
It’s starting off to be a great day Them’s some good stories.
It just occurred to me… are the feel good stories what the Dutch Rudder Shura are referring to in regards to this blog having a “body count”?
Dude in a wheelchair assists two with evil intent in assuming room temperature, then chases off a third. Impressive – and nice.
Today’s good news scorecard is also rather nice: 7 perps, 3 room temp, 2 wounded and in custody, 2 at large – and zero successful crimes.
“That suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet 7 and 150 pounds, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.”
They forgot to mention that he also was last seen wearing a pair of very soiled pants that were hanging halfway down his stupid ass.
Another local food mart robbed here in SoMD- that’s two in a week. If only Marylanders had some manner of self protection, something to keep the bad guys guessing who just might be a poor choice for victimhood.
Let me guess. The third suspect’s name is Trayvon. 😀
