Thursday morning feel good stories
Our first story was sent by Top Kone and it comes from Ashtabula, Ohio;
A pregnant woman shot a 16-year-old juvenile in the chest after he and the woman’s estranged boyfriend broke down a door to her apartment Tuesday at Woodman Estates.
The 16-year-old victim and the woman’s boyfriend and father of her unborn child — came to the woman’s apartment in the 5700 block of Woodman Avenue about 2 p.m. following an earlier domestic disturbance. When the mother of two wouldn’t let them in, they reportedly broke down the back door of her apartment about 2 p.m.
“We found the back door kicked in,” Ashtabula Police Chief Robert Stell said. “He smashed the back door right off the hinges.”
As they headed up the back stairs, the woman reportedly retrieved a small caliber handgun and shot at them, hitting the 16-year-old in the left side of his chest, Stell said.
Two more stories from Chief Tango for your morning reading pleasure; the first is from Missouri;
Police say the owner of Kaiser’s Grand Mart stopped the man from robbing his store at Grand and Delor, and followed him to the Walgreens a few blocks south at Grand and Bates.
When the suspect announced a robbery and pulled his weapon at Walgreens, the Kaiser’s Grand Mart owner pulled his gun and ordered the suspect to drop his weapon. Instead, the suspect pointed the toy gun at the store owner, who fired two shots.
The suspect’s in critical but stable condition with a shoulder wound.
The last story is from Kansas and the homeowner frustrated the investigation at first because he didn’t tell police that he had shot the intruder;
The sheriff’s office said the 57-year-old homeowner now admits to shooting and killing Cody Reid, 27.
Originally, the homeowner told investigators he did not shoot Reid. He said Reid ran from the home when he told him he was going to call 911. Then the homeowner said he heard a shot outside and found Reid lying on the ground dead.
On Wednesday, Capt. Greg Pollock said that the homeowner had fired two shots with a handgun. One of the shots struck Reid in the chest.
The handgun used in the shooting was recovered at the home on Broadway.
Capt. Pollock said the sheriff’s office still believes Reid was breaking into the home based on physical evidence. He said it is “very frustrating” when people give false information.
Always tell the police the truth – and when you pull the trigger, make sure you’re in the right by doing so.

If you are breaking down someones door in the act of commiting a crime you are NOT a victim YOU ARE A PERPETRATOR.
Apropos of nothing: you know how cheap bikes have that huge crank bearing set and that one-piece S-shaped crank that you have to jiggle sideways to get through the bike frame? That’s called an Ashtabula crank. Only thing to my knowledge named for that town.
