The 1SG Moerk chronicles

| January 1, 2015

Folks have been sending the link to the Army Times article about the dust up of the ARCOM for 1SG Moersk, who trolled folks on a video, apparently. I say “troll” because I’m fairly convinced that is what she did, given my experience with her since I commented on the story earlier. As soon as she saw my post, she emailed it (via Twitter) to Sergeant Major of the Army Ray Chandler as well as the Pentagon’s G-1 and to the chief of the SHARP Program. And then she took the time to call me an “asshat” on Facebook.

Then she went to her blog and accused us of calling her a “whore” (no, we didn’t) and said that we accused her of Stolen Valor (again, no we didn’t). Thanks to the magic of the internet cache here are few paragraphs that she wrote about the TAH post – and me;

Katrina Moersk Soldier Betty Blog shit

So, I did what she did to the soldiers that she trolled – I looked her up on AKO and emailed her. When she answered my email, she cc’d her company commander. The first sergeant said that she didn’t understand why I would assassinate her character (which I didn’t – I couldn’t assassinate that which I couldn’t find).

Then, for some stupid reason, she emailed Bulldog at Guardians of Valor and asked him to influence me to remove the post about her. She said that she had asked me to remove it (she hadn’t) and that I had mumbled something about “freedom of speech” (I didn’t).

The rumor is that her command has instituted a “gag order” forbidding anyone in her unit from speaking about the same thing that the Department of Defense had issued a press release to celebrate. For all I know, that same gag order is instituted through out the Army.

The Lemon Party Triad thought that it was important enough that they sent a link for the blog post to outgoing Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel complaining that I complained about an Army Accommodation Medal – whatever that is.

So, I guess it’s time to clarify what my position on the whole thing is; Any NCO who updates any three-star general on their daily activities would look like those North Korean generals covered with ARCOMs. If generals ever knew what any sergeant did moment-by-moment they’d be amazed. I went back and looked at my ARCOMs and realized that the only times I earned any was when a general got to see me work. But, to me, I was doing nothing that I didn’t do every day. So if every First Sergeant in the Army had their own general, they could get ARCOMs out the wazoo.

Given First Sergeant Moersk’s behavior since I published the post, I have to guess that she antagonized the soldiers on the social media website into their bad behavior. I know she tried to goad me into saying things I wouldn’t ordinarily say to a woman. She was purposely obtuse in an attempt to frustrate me. Moersk mischaraterized what I (and you) wrote and since I don’t have a boss, she thought her own boss’ inclusion in our conversation would bully me, and as a last resort, she thought she could get my friends to influence me.

The other day, Hondo wanted to do a follow up to my initial post but I told him that we should just leave her alone – but her own behavior since then has influenced me to write this post. Who knows what she’s telling other people. But, yeah, she lives up to my initial description of her as a “troll”.

Well she clamed to be a Pagan on Facebook before she went full lockdown/retard. My professional NCO guess is she road the Pagan EO pony for all it was worth. Lots of you didn’t promote me because of my religious believes and crap. I bet a six pack of the good stuff she filled EO complaint’s above here chain of command on that to. Hey Top early ripe early rot!
SUCK IT!
And lead by example.

Just an Old Dog

Someone bought up “why doesnt she simply help the soldiers under her command and influence”?
They probably don’t confide in her or trust her for shit, thats why. Shes a one trick pony, her expertise is in addressing sexual harrassment. She’s like the fucking Carrie Nation of SHARP.
She needs to just put in her retirement package and fo hang out with Bateman, They can cry in their Zima together and talk about how gun toting manly men screwed them over

propsguy

Maybe when she makes E9, they’ll maker her the EONCO of the Army, then she can spend ALL of her time tracing down mean words and dirty pictures on the internet. 😀

She’ll be a Sergeant Major Senior Grade, or SGM-SG.

What a bag of dicks.

Sneaky manipulative cunts going to be sneaky manipulative cunts. The other day when I posted about how senior staff enlisted have to do their fair share of blue falconing she is a prime example of this. I can only imagine the shit she has pulled to get her rank and the troops she has fucked over to do it.

What a class act for the U.S. Army. Sounds like high school drama on steroids and official policy is to reward it. Sounds like she has her commanding officer whipped too otherwise she wouldn’t be emailing such garbage.

Somebody in the U.S. army grow a pair tell thundercunt to unfuck herself please. She’s an embarrassment to all enlisted serving or otherwise.

Better not hurt her feelings, TAH might get cut from the military network to protect the special snowflakes who don’t remember what a Drill Sergeant is.

Her day is cominng,, she will never be xcepted in our ranks

I do not remember Jonn posting anything all that derogatory. I did, at great length. Not just about her, I also included every member up the chain of command involved with this.

Katrina Moerk or Presley(one ‘S’ not two) seems to be a professional victim. She appears to be constitutionally incapable of grasping and developing a mental construct of how wrong she actually is. My experience with this type of behavior leads me to believe she may be suffering from a mental incapacity.

She seems to adopt a ‘Christ Complex’ as if suffering for the welfare of all and at the same time rejecting ‘his’ existence. It appears the onset of this fracture in her personality might coincide with being mentored by a stronger personality that has components of Munchhausen by Proxy.

While she marches down the path of mental illness, her proxy feigns concern, support, and compassion. The only thing worse than watching an aging woman struggle with her unbalanced need for attention is watching a parasite feed on her dysfunction.

I am getting to where I just pity her. Even the slightest challenge to her authority by those she can bully results in a compulsive and uncontrollable need to display passive aggressive outbursts.

Those she has no authority, like me for example, she only manifests the features of a woman incapable of gaining any form of respect without using her rank.

Her superior appears more like Mr. Magoo babbling about in what ever direction the winds of current circumstances lead him. He has made a buffoon out of himself.

I forgot to name names. I would not want to upset the Google Gods.

Katrina Moerk Katrina Presley – possibly mentally deficient.

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel- Baffoon

Lt. Gen. James C. McConville – The wind blew the shit flew and in he walked. Appears to lack the ability to lead a roll of shit paper to the head.

Sgt. Maj Leslie Hudson – Probably a parasite feeding on the dysfunction of a subordinate. Possibly being easily manipulated by a DOD official due to her lack of moral fiber.

Capt. John Larue – Might have had his ability to command neutered by a female Sgt Maj with more displays of testosterone than him. A flaccid leader.

Christine Altendorf – Seems to completely lack any understanding of military decorum. To date, appears to be inept at communicating effectively in any manner. I am of the opinion she may be suffering from some form of Munchhausen by Proxy.

Bobo

Like I said earlier, she’s in the running to pin on SGM in record time. Her CoC knows that she is willing to drop a dime to the CSM, the DA G1, and the SES in charge of SHARP at the slightest perceived slight, so she’s going to get nothing but walks on water NCOERs until her PCS. The exceptional NCOERs will put her ahead of the pack when it comes time for the USASMA board, and she’ll be at Bliss on her first look. Then off to “mentor” an even larger population of soldiers as an E-9 until she finally retires.

I’d like to think that I’m full of crap, but I’ve seen it play out that way time and time again. The soldiers who commanders know won’t hesitate to file an EO or sexual harassment complaint are getting the good paper because no one wants to deal with the problems that they will cause if they don’t.

OWB

Maybe when this began, but not now. Even the most clueless leaders don’t want negative attention from their superiors. This mess that Katrina created is getting them plenty of questions they don’t want to answer from anyone much less from their bosses. They understand that a LOT of people are now watching them as well as her.

A transfer, maybe. Anything to get the attention away from them. The chain of command contributed to this by taking the easy way out and will continue to do so.

RunPatRun

I think an unknown when Big Army decided to make an example out of Moerk was her blog, which became public after linking back to Jonn’s first post. While now private, some of the posts she has on there and the troll-attitude were made very public, with screen shots saved. Hopefully, the Soldier Betty blog reveal is enough to warrant a very close look at her character for future promotions. The last sentance of her Backlash post was “Bring it on”, which speaks volumes, at least imo.

PtolemyinEgypt

Pretty much.

This incident & ARCOM will almost certainly be the top bullet in the competence section to justify a check on the excellence block on the next NCOER. “Personally recognized by the Army G1 for having a positive impact on the DA SHARP program by making immediate corrective action…” and so on.

1SG Katrina Moerk: They will also tell you that I am an internet troll. Your actions indicate that of an internet troll. If the way you handled Jonn, with your Facebook post, is in indicator, there’s a good chance that you did go around and troll people. Perhaps your “initial” attempts to “right things” was you saying things you knew would get them to fire back at you. This is why I expressed interest in seeing the actual back and forth, the actual statements made. There’s a possibility that those Soldiers’ gooses were cooked before you even sent them the first message. It’s like a fisherman “trolling” for fish… putting out baits/hooks with the hopes that fishes would catch on. Internet trolls do something similar on the internet. 1SG Katrina Moerk: I believe I also read that it was a good thing that I have issued knee pads and flexible jaw, because how else could I have possibly made it to 1SG, These are jokes based on events that may, or may not, be true, and they’re thrown around consistently against both men and women… anywhere there’s a job with a career progression. I’m not saying that this is the right accusation to throw out, but it’s common for people to think that against someone else that had climbed up the ladder faster than their maturity, age, experience, etc. Or, the person that got passed over may be butthurt and thus is talking bad against the person that got what the butthurt person didn’t get. The common theory advanced on This Aint Hell is the possibility that you found an opportunity to complain if you didn’t get the nod for promotion, and you may have done things like pull the EO card, or something similar. There are other possibilities that could explain your rapid promotion, that have nothing to do with competence and everything to do with your “give me my way or I’ll rain fire and brimstone on your hind quarters” persona… a persona that’s jumping at us indirectly from the words that you use. One big thing that… Read more »

Please don’t forget that she was given (I will not say awarded) the ARCOM for jumping straight to SHARP after attempting direct contact with the soldiers. She did not contact their NCO chain, did not contact their command chain, did not contact her NCO chain, did not contact her command chain. She went straight to the head of SHARP.

If a troopie were to do that, I can promise they would never rise above E-4, if not E-3. However, it was okay that she did that and she was awarded for it because she.

nbcguy54

What’s beginning to disturb me now is the number of people supporting her on the Army Times website. Apparently it’s okay to circumnavigate the entire chain of command in today’s Army. Even the SMA appears to support ignoring the chain.
Between this and the way the drawdown is being handled, the word “trust” will eventually be erased from the Army vocabulary.
Looks like the “me” generation has won a mighty victory.

Sad.

Eric

I’d say at least 54% of them are “supporting” her because echelons above reality (EAR) is supporting her. They think that the “EAR” will remember them and/or give them special attention for supporting her and supporting them.

If someone at higher levels says “I think we should drive our tactical vehicles backwards, everywhere we go!” there will be a buttload of people saying, “Awesome idea SIR!”

Flagwaver

You know there is a problem within the enlisted ranks when the SMA supports going straight to the Pentagon with any problem. Perhaps all soldiers should try doing that. There is set precedent. If they are punished, then they can just point to the SMA as the authorizing figure.

MK75Gunner

I’m interested in seeing the conversations and back and forth that took place with E8 Troll and those she ratted out. She is a person with an agenda, or two, and I have the feeling she spends an inordinate amount of time in search of being butt hurt. Who the fuck scours Facebook or any other social media looking to “correct” service members behavior? A person with an agenda, that’s who. Yeah, you “came upon a FB page” like you were just fucking clicking around Facebook and innocently stumbled onto this horrifying post regarding females and you just had to get involved….spare me the martyr routine Mork, you no doubt got to your position by agenda and you continue to push forward with it as it has been quite successful for you. I knew a few fucks like this over my career, always looking to shine the light on the possible indiscretions or fuck ups of others all in the hopes of showing themselves in a good light. Is there any other explanation for just having to get a General Officer, SMA and some SES fuck
involved in what should have been handled at the CoC level?

“No one is more professional than I”

Is this what passes for leadership these days? It must physically pain you that you can’t silence us. It must be so galling to you that you can’t simply copy a General Officer or DoD civilian on a strongly worded email and get your way. I challenge you to read up on the types of power in leadership. You are the classic case of someone who’s illusion of themselves doesn’t match reality. You own “coercive” and “legitimate” power but confuse it with “referent” power and fancy yourself model of excellence. I’ll clue you in on something, none of your soldiers respect you. And now thanks to your tantrum, no one in the whole world respects you. You’ve reduced the NCO core to a punch line in a bad joke. You’re a backstabbing buddy fucker, a bully, and a sleaze. Luckily for you, you will never be in a situation where your notional power evaporates and your life depends on people trusting and respecting you. You’ve demonstrated you are not fit to lead a team of chihuahuas on leashes, let alone professional soldiers.

Put this in your blog and forward it to the Chiefs of Staff: 1SG, you are a disgrace.

ANCCPT

I don’t weigh in on NCO business often, but as an officer, I expect more from my NCO’s than what 1SG Moerk is demonstrating. The NCO Corps is the backbone of the Army, and this sort of screwing over the enlisted is exactly what an Army facing leadership and morale challenges DOESN’T need. Stay safe, strong and resolute, ladies and gentlemen. I fear we’re in for a rough few decades in uniform.

propsguy

I don’t think Haji is going to give us decades to try this brave new experiment.

ANCCPT

Historically, enemies seldom come when we’re ready. It’s an odd time in American history; one where our government has declared peace, without defeating our enemies and our military is on constant wartime footing/deployment cycle with a garrison mentality in the leadership. Tough times ahead…

Eric

Same thing happened during the Clinton years. The military was reduced 40% and the OPTEMPO increased to 300%.

I’m waiting for the Obama supports to talk about him “bringing the troops home from a second war!” even though both “wars” have troops still engaged. Only now we’re doing it without allies.

Ex-PH2

I’m glad you mentioned bodarpez, Eric. It seems that the famous presidential library, which follows the end of each administration, is having an extremely rough time finding a home for construction of said building.

Just something to think about.

The end of this silly admin cannot come too soon.

Eric

Yeah, Hawaii most definitely doesn’t want it there, by clear and significant levels.

With the amount of asspain it is for him to take a vacation there, having a library there for him is the last thing they want to see.

My guess is that it’ll end up in/near Chicago. But I could be wrong.

frmrArmy

One common theme running through this saga is that no one considered the consequences of their actions. Understandable for a couple of young soldiers. Inexcusable for senior leaders.
The young soldiers never considered how some people might view their handiwork.
Moerk never considered how her peers and subordinates would view the way she handled this situation.
The Army never considered the backlash that would be triggered by not just awarding the ARCOM but awarding it in such a look-at-me, public way.
After this debacle, and the certain ruination of Moerk’s career and reputation – right or wrong, deserved or undeserved- how apt do you think others will be to report SHARP violations in the future?

nbcguy54

Looks like SHARP is turning a little DULL – Dumbasses Under Loser Leadership.

(I know, I know – it’s still early and I haven’t had my morning Pepsi yet)

Ex-PH2

What you said, but in addition, Ms. Moerk was handed the award and the attagirl before anyone had that ‘wait-a-minute’ moment, and it has now become an incredibly embarrassing tempest in the big ol’ washtub, when it could have easily been avoided by not being so hasty with the Medal of Accomodation.

Until or unless the Army/military in general starts to emphasize proper procedure for something like reporting the still unseen video, this Court of Public Opinion will continue to make the military squirm.

Since someone else reports that the Army has made TAH off-limits as ‘subversive’ (meaning they don’t like having the obvious FUBAR pointed out to them), it’s my considered opinion that this will either die of natural causes or will continue to stew and boil until it’s resolved to be less embarrassing to the military as an entity.

I think we should just keep up the pressure for the time being.

propsguy

TAH is ‘subversive”? Really? They put us off limits?
How are they going to enforce that one?

Hurricane Katrina is still wreaking havoc where ever she goes

Green Thumb

I miss the Army but sometimes I am glad I am out.

It appears that the ranks are filling up with PC/whiny bitches more worried about perception that fulfilling the mission.

Ex-PH2

Maybe the real problem is that they don’t have a real mission to fulfill.

Eric

Our current “Mission” is an Admin War. Full blown rear garrison bullshit.

If she had pulled this crap even 5 years ago, she’d have been fired and told to retire, plain n’ simple.

Even while we have troops deployed in multiple locations for multiple missions, there are too many in the rear playing fuc fuc games at the expense of the lowest level Soldiers.

We’re even hearing it from higher levels. “You have to make your metrics look better, we are worried about units getting deactivated right now!” Though in many cases its more about the evaluation and how it’ll look if your metrics suck. “Oh my God, this guy didn’t get a flu shot! My career is ruined!” Which in some cases is unfortunately very true.

ArmyATC

In the context in which you put the “Medal of Accomodation,” it seems perfectly accurate. This was a medal of that sort.

So TAH is ‘subversive’ and off limits? That’ll simply push the troops harder to check it out. Tell a troop something is off limits and he or she will try even harder to see it if for no other reason than to tweak the nose of senior leadership.

Eric

Funny thing, I believe it was a year or two ago I think Jonn was saying that there were troops who couldn’t get to TAH. It was considered “extreme” and blocked. I forget who and where.

I’m surprised I can get to some of these sites from my work computer. Though I can also get to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and so many other social media sites.

Eric

Just to clarify. No, I don’t go to those social media sites while I’m at work. The only exception is posting something for my unit to FB from my “official” FB account that I use for official business, which means it doesn’t have crap on it, I don’t post my true thoughts to it, nor how I feel about higher level decisions. I only use it when my command group says, “this needs to be uploaded to our unit page!” or something to that effect.

propsguy

And considering every young troop out there has a phone with more capability than the first Desktop computer I owned, how in hell do they even expect that order to stick?

Old Trooper

TAH is subversive? Really? What did they use as a definition for subversive? Did the use “Big Army is butthurt”?

Flagwaver

It’s probably subversive because it pushes the Army Values. Those aren’t valuable anymore, apparently. You need to make sure that white male soldiers are never able to get higher ranks than their female and non-white betters.

2/17 Air Cav

Yes, TAH is subversive. Many of its commenters are independent thinkers who do not praise the emperor’s clothes, play pretend games with reality, or kowtow to petty political whim, uniformed or not. Too many commenters here cherish our nation’s heritage, traditions and values. Those things aren’t in vogue, nowadays. So, yeah, we are subversive.

A Proud Infidel®™

Maybe we’re labeled “subversive” because the vast majority of us DO NOT go in complete lockstep to the political correctness being shoved down everyone’s throats these days?

2/17 Air Cav

Yep. I guess we really ought to be called counter revolutionaries who subvert the revolutionaries’ re-education efforts, refuse their propaganda, and, of necessity and courtesy of our Constitutional, stay armed to the teeth.

I always thought it was because we don’t constantly have our lips manning a general’s pole, personally.

I’m gonna go laugh some more over in my corner cause that’s just funny.

Commissioner Wretched

Oooooh, I’ve always wanted to be part of a “subversive” organization!!! 🙂

I’ve read a lot of things that made me laugh out loud, but I think the Army’s decision to make TAH “subversive” is one of the funniest ever! Reminds me of the so-called bullies back in elementary school – they can dish it out, but they sure can’t take it!

A Proud Infidel®™

Or it’s being like the ponytailed Birkenstock-wearing college perfessors that run away when someone presents facts and common sense to counter their liberal tripe! E8 Moerk screeched to the highest echelon she could, who thought that the ONLY non-career busting course of action was political correctness enforced by law and her being rewarded for her “HEY, LOOK AT ME!!” game, flinging poo like a one-eyed Rhesus Monkey on LSD and Meth!!

CLAW131

Based on my recollections, at this time of the morning all the troops have been awakened and had their morning PT session, personal hygiene time is over and chow has been eaten, the barracks have been cleaned and morning work call formation has occurred and everybody should be at work. (Or am I living in the past and not up to snuff on how things are in today’s modern Army?) So, who’s taking bets on whether a certain E-8’s work space/office at Fort Meade is being cleaned out right now? Anybody? Your choice, smokes, coin,or candy.

propsguy

At this point, no, I disagree, the Big Army is going to move at the speed of glacier on this one.

I will bet that there are several “High level” meetings going on about the “internet” coverage.

CLAW131

I don’t care how many high level meetings are occurring or will occur. What Big Army has to do is get her away from the troops that are currently in the company. If they string this along and leave her in the 1SG position until a final decision is made, the troops will have to continue to contend with her toxic leadership. Like I said before, ship her off to CIF, or down to the loading dock at the post Subsistence Facility Cold Storage Section,or somewhere that her sphere of influence is not directed at everyday soldiers.

Ex-PH2

I don’t know, Claw. With me, it was up at 5AM (05:00), get dressed, hustle off to work, grab something at the cafeteria upstairs or hit the chowhall across the infield, then get to work. Work til lunchtime, get some food some place, and get back to work. If I had no duty to stand, I went home at 3PM (15:00) and changed clothes and spent my hours from 4PM to 10PM training horses for shows, cleaning stalls, moving haybales, cleaning tack, and setting up jumps for the next morning’s lesson groups. It helped pay my boarding bill for my horse. Then i went home.
That was 1967 to 1970, but then when I went back in 1972, nothing much had changed except the ads on TV. ‘It’s not just a job – it’s an adventure’.

That noise you hear is me giggling. No, it was just a job.

I meant to add that I’d like to see this self-important little twit given a proper setdown that makes it clear she was completely out of line. However, I doubt that we will see her heading out the door and off the tax-centered payroll, because she’s close to retirement age and will likely fight being fired.

And remember, the Army has to find a way to make OPCAA work while they let this storm of controversy die down.
