Your Labor Day feel good stories

| September 1, 2014

Chief Tango sends us our feel good stories again for your laborless day. The first is from Mississippi;

Police Chief Chris Robertson says officers were called to a home on Butler Road around 3:45 Saturday morning about a man attempting to break into a home.

When they arrived, Leondrick Satterwhite, 24, of New Albany had forced his way inside the home.

The homeowner shot and killed Satterwhite.

The next story is from Indiana;

Detectives say two or three men were trying to break into the home when the homeowner struggled with the men over the gun and shot one of the suspects.

A woman and small child inside the home at the time were not hurt.

There are bullet holes in the front door and blood on the front porch and driveway.

A short time later, a man showed up at a gas station a mile away with gunshot wounds in the leg and back.

Finally, from Ohio the war against women ended for two criminals on a bike path while she was walking her dog;

“Two gentlemen came out of the woods, one holding a baseball bat, and said ‘You’re coming with us’.”

The men weren’t deterred by Dinah’s dog Gracie.

“I said, ‘Well, what do you want?,’ and as I was saying that I reached in to my pocket and slipped my gun out, slipped the safety off as I pulled it out. As I was doing that the other gentleman came toward me and raised the baseball bat. And, I pointed the gun at them and said, ‘I have this and I’m not afraid to use it.'”

The men took off and so far have eluded police. Dinah posted about the incident on Facebook to alert friends and neighbors, to criticism by some.

“Most of the males’ opinion was, ‘Why didn’t you shoot them?'”

Easy to second-guess a decision made under pressure, based on her concealed carry training, and police agree.

“To get out of a situation, back out, get out of it as much as you can without having to discharge your firearm.”

“I will say it’s a good thing to go from a place of danger to a place of safety, however you get that done,” said Sgt. Matt Chambers, Lancaster Police.

“Very thankful that it turned out the way it did, and hope it doesn’t happen again, but I will be prepared.”

Everything about that last story sounds like a Lifetime made for tv movie that I don’t believe any of it. People hiding in the woods with a baseball bat and what she said is just setting off alarms for me and the fact she’s on facederp about it too.

Comeon now….

Don’t be too sure. One of my daughters walks trails around a dam locally. She has seen men in the woods, some have asked for money, some wait then break into their cars and some come out and have followed her. But I taught her how to shoot when she was young and gave her some DRT ammo for her .380, that she always carries when out.

I bought my wife a .380 pistol with Crimson Trace grips and Hornady Critical defense rounds to carry in it, I’ve heard and red that the red dot alone will take the fight out of a lot of would-be attackers!

I agree, smells like guano. But now she can get SSI for PTSD for the rape that “almost” well maybe, uh, might have….

Sorry I just don’t believe a word of this one. I’ve drawn my weapon a couple times and the last thing I thought about was posting the experience on facecrack.
