Tuesday morning feel good story

| August 26, 2014

Chief Tango sends us our feel good story again this morning. This time it’s from Texas;

A housesitter keeping an eye on his neighbor’s Channelview-area home shot a suspected burglar early Monday, deputies said.

Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office were called to Lakeside near Pecan around 2 a.m.

They said they arrived to find a man with a gunshot wound to the chest. The man was accused of burglarizing a home when the neighbor shot him.

The suspect was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

He could probably get a lot of housesitting jobs with a record like that.

A bonus feel good story from Lafayette, Louisiana;

Officers were able to locate the shooter, who made the 9-1-1 call, and reported that he observed an unknown person entering his home from across the street.

The owner of the residence then told police that he armed himself and went to his home to investigate. The owner stated he approached the burglar through a window and shot twice.

The burglar then exited the home and the homeowner fired twice more. The burglar then ran into the backyard, and the homeowner went back inside to call police.

The burglar was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nice. Two stories about people who went to the trouble of getting some range time, and the results thereof, plus some truly funny stuff elsewhere.

Nice start to my day. Makes the orange juice even better.
