Blue Falcon Walsh drops out of Senate race
Fox News reports that John Walsh, the fellow who cheated on his thesis at the Army War College by plagiarizing a large portion of it, and then blaming it on PTS from hundreds of IED blasts (by “hundreds” he actually meant one…maybe), is not running for the Senate this time around;
Walsh’s political team initially said the allegations “will not change Senator Walsh’s commitment to his campaign.” Since that time, the drumbeat for Walsh to pull out has grown in his home state. Three of Montana’s largest newspapers recently called for him to withdraw his candidacy, while others have demanded he apologize or forfeit his master’s degree.
[…]
Walsh had until Monday, Aug. 11 to drop out of the race and remove himself from the ballot. Democrats now have until Aug. 20 to tap a replacement candidate and have him or her appear on the ballot.
I still want proof that he has been treated for PTS.

Sooooo, when will he get some kind of long-term gravy train appointment within the Montana Adjutant General’s Department (i.e. “man-days” gig)?
MajMike, I’m sure he’s destined for an Undersecretary of the Army slot, in charge of counting MREs or something equally taxing.
In my experience, the well connected seemed to scarf these positions up on a long-term basis. Nice work if you could get it — active duty pay, not too demanding, accrual of retirement points, etc.
I guess he found out that BS’ing people about things that seem unimportant is not a good idea, after all.
Good. Now…take his degree.
Please… some dude who has to cheat on a 14-page paper in grad school (and it’s a “final paper,” at that) is a bozo who should only have paper to wipe his butt with.
Hopefully the State will put him in charge of the National Guard PT Program. He is,after all,the recipient of four, count them, four awards of the MT NG Physical Fitness Test Ribbon. Maybe he can get some of that PTSD claim ran out of him. Just like the old coach told us when we screwed up or were whining about something, “Take some laps and think about what you did”.
AMF!
AW1Ed – “AMF” – does that mean “Awful Mendacious Fellow”? (smile)
(Just kidding, amigo – I’m quite old enough to know the decryption of that acronym.)
Was on every Harley 20 years… and every bowling ball.
Some golf carts too!!
Another one bites the dust.
Splash. Out.
It’s time Ron “Where’s My” Dickey to do the same thing in Mississippi…
Well now, since he will now quickly recede from the headlines this should pave the way for the grandees at the War College to do the right thing and revoke his degree.
I’d still like to slap that stupid grin off his mug.
DITTO!!
Where’s that clown who was here defending him–you know, everybody does it. That guy.
Pouring beers at the VFW.
Or crying in his beer.
Fox News reported earlier today that he was withdrawing from the campaign to concentrate on his duties as the senator form Montana. What a mealy mouthed sack of porcine excrement! WTF? The senate is in recess so these guys can get some campaigning in before the November elections. What the hell are his duties while on vacation. One positive outcome from all this is that the good people of Montana now have a chance to vote Republican, This ass jockey was appointed to the office by the democrat Governor. What’s next? Will the Gov. run for the seat himself . That sounds par for the course for these guys.
GOOD! Now Big Army, get off your asses, strip that degree AND reduce his rank to E-1 with OTH…
The former is a distinct possibility, street. The War College plagiarism investigation begins either next week or the week thereafter. Walsh has until 15 Aug to indicate whether he wants to appear in person before the academic board.
The latter ain’t gonna happen. While this misconduct, if proven, could potentially cost Walsh a retired grade (retired grade is an administrative determination), he’s already qualified for retirement and is now either a full or “grey area” retiree (it’s possible he has 20 years active due to being an AGR). He’s thus entitled to a pension (either now or at age 60) unless he’s returned to active duty, court-martialed, and dismissed. And frankly, that just ain’t gonna happen for something like this.
Just a question, does anyone know what happens to what’s left of Walsh’s 2.6 million campaign fund?
That’s a VERY good question!! GOOD RIDDANCE to Walsh!!
At one point, politicians who retired could keep any remaining funds in a reelection campaign fund. I think – but am not sure – either Federal laws or IRS rules were changed some years ago to prevent that. Perhaps one of our resident lawyers can weigh in on that subject.
I was suspicious when the NYSlimes broke this story, Walsh was down by 8-ish points then. Who wants to wager on the backup plan? Senator Schweitzer anyone?
Good.
DoD should take away his star now since he committed fraud to obtain it.
He never had a Federally-recognized star, FatCircles. Montana promoted him to BG, but the Army denied him federal recognition as a BG due to other misconduct – he was found to have misused govt property and improperly endorsed non-Federal organizations for personal gain. We covered that in a previous article about Walsh.
He was a “State” General without Federal recognition. That’s usually temporary status until his Federal orders come in.
Walsh was a rotten bag of shit on several levels. Pricks like him do us all a disservice.
I have to agree on that, but like Hondo said “He never had a Federally Recognized Star…” I assume that means his star was never voted on by Congress?
Bahahahahahahahahahahah.
