Michael Lattea UPDATE
UPDATE: From our friends at Guardian of Valor, Michael Lattea has been arrested in Illinois. We’re not sure what, exactly, he was arrested for, but given his history, I can guess that it was for fraud since he continues to rattle his tin cup even though he’s been busted and his records are everywhere. Either that or domestic abuse of some sort because he’s pretty violent and he targets women for his scams. But here is the record of his arrest followed by the old post we did of him late last year;
Michael Lattea comes to us by the way of Scotty, who has been a FOIA machine lately. But Lattea did actually go to Afghanistan for a month or so, he has brought shame on the name of veterans – he’s now a convicted felon having committed fraud. Scotty has some of his criminal records and says that he has an active warrant. But, just by looking at his photo above, I’m sure anyone with a minute in the service knows he’s a phony.

“SUBJECT MAY HAVE A HOLD FOR ANOTHER AGENCY”
It sounds like more than one law enforcement agency wants a piece of him.
If he went to AFG, why does he have the ISR listed on the FOIA?
Correction – Not ICR, I meant the ICM – Iraqi Campaign Medal.
Well now, first Danny Crane and now Michael Lattea in just a few days. This is nice to see.
I can only imagine that he has read Commander Phil Monkress at All-Points Logistics new less-than-bestselling novel “Monkress’s Secrets to Success”.
Especially Chapter Four (4) on Military and Personal Embellishment for Financial Gain”.
He always had me at “US Army” name tape.
The “hold for other agency” is based on intel and previous criminal activity typically.
BLUF: a simple Google.net search and crim bacckground in most juridictions can extend his stay so other agencies can be notified.
Sounds like he has some splainin’ to do to several agencies and or juridictions!
But what do I know …

Just curious as to why his last assignment/duty station was redacted.
Atkron: discharge characterization is not releasable under the FOIA.
Sometimes the last entry on a 2-1 indicates both the fact of discharge and the type received.
The guy was discharged as an E1. Draw your own conclusions.
Thanks Hondo…never crossed my mind that they would put discharge information in the same spot as assignments.
I don’t think I should have used my imagination to draw a conclusion…because when I did I saw a goat, a package of condoms, and those little pats of butter you get with your rolls at dinner.
