Karzai rails against US ‘threats’
The Associated Press reports that the Taliban chief spokesman, pretending to be President of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai says that the US is threatening him because he won’t sign a document which allows US forces to remain in Afghanistan after 2014.
In an interview published Tuesday by the French daily Le Monde, Karzai says the U.S. is “absolutely” acting like a colonial power in its attempts to force him to sign the bilateral security agreement by the end of this year. The paper quoted him as saying: “The threats they are making, `We won’t pay salaries, we’ll drive you into a civil war.’ These are threats.”
Washington and NATO officials say the pact is critical to the plan to keep thousands of forces in Afghanistan after 2014 for a training and counterterrorism mission.
Karzai says he backs the long-delayed security agreement but balks at signing it himself. Although a national assembly of 2,500 delegates known as the Loya Jirga endorsed the deal last month and backed a U.S. request that it be signed by the end of the year, Karzai is deferring that to his successor.
Yeah, withholding funds from Karzai’s 401k are a threat. If the US wanted to threaten Karzai, they would have let Biden talk to him when the vice-president was in the neighborhood last weekend. Biden snubbed Karzai though. Biden has been snubbing me for a long time, and trust me, Hamid, life is good. Karzai doesn’t want us to kill insurgents, so there’s no good reason for us to stay in Afghanistan. That will be his legacy, so just leave, FFS.

Karzai’s usefulness ran out quite a while ago.
The US needs to get out of Afghanistan, the mission was to arrest or terminate Osama Bin Laden and degrade Al Q which was done.
Mission accomplished with flying colors and the men and women who fought there deserve praise.
Now, it’s time to go and let Karzai and Afghanistan go where they will.
Somewhere along the way everyone forgot about the reason the US is there.

I do not understand this administration’s policies at all. We want, as a nation, to be out of Afghanistan, and all the while the the POTUS and his minions are pressing hard to keep us there longer. Not only that, they are willing to line pockets, like Karzai’s to beg, “please let us stay”. This smells like Vietnam all over. The rich will be on planes with their suitcases of cash when we leave seeking asylum in the US. I cannot see any advantage to staying. It is a shithole and always has been. It has sucked up enough American lives and blood. Now the POTUS wants us to stay with ROE that keep our hands in our pockets and sacrifices more lives. Obama hates the military and sleeps well at night, knowing he is aiding the enemy and spending American lives like so much fodder. I have rarely ever said this about a person and never about a President, but I absolutely hate President Obama and all he stands for. Or should that be all he does not stand for, like our nation and our troops. My goodness how I wish someone, would get enough goods on him to bring about an impeachment! I don’t want to wait until 2016 anymore. Where are all the liberals who usually are protesting any war, at any time, for any reason? I guess they are too in love with this POTUS to stand up for what they have always believed. I have come to realize, as far as liberals are concerned, if it is signed or stamped, “Obama”, it is a good thing, regardless of even their own self proclaimed beliefs and ethics. If they have any ethics left after following him since 2008. Sorry for the long rant.
Nice that this came out on the same day as the article saying that 75% of troops killed in Afghanistan were on Obama’s watch.
