Thursday feel good story

| July 18, 2013

Chief Tango sends us a story today from Hominy, Oklahoma where a ten-year-old girl answered her door when a teen was banging on it. The teen tried to force his way in the home but the mother slammed it in his face.

He then punched through the window on the door, so the woman said she woke her 17-year-old son and told him to get his gun.

Her son, who is a senior at Hominy High School, grabbed a 12-guage shotgun and fired as the other boy reached his hand through the broken glass and turned the doorknob to obtain entry.

A neighbor says the same person was sitting on her porch earlier. When she told him to leave, he started acting strangely, so she called 911. She said she was on the phone with dispatch when she heard gunfire next door.

So I guess we’ll never know if he was trying to turn his life around or just being a pest. Again the story isn’t that this happened, the story is that these stories happen every-damn-day, that every day Americans are protecting their homes and their families with gun with barely a mention from the media.

Inquiring minds want to know, is said “misguided youth” taking a dirt nap or did he take off like a stripe-assed ape?

PintoNag

What’s this “woke her son up to get his gun” stuff? I bet she has her husband kill spiders for her, too.

pete

does he still have booger picker??

Robot Wrangler

Misguided youth is currently the artist formerly known as living.

B Woodman

The youth is dead.
“But he was such a GOOD boy, just trying to turn his life around.”
As I posted at the article, “when seconds count, the po-po are ONLY minutes away.”
It sucks to be that son, knowing that he had to shoot and kill someone, even if it was to protect and possibly save his family’s life. I hope he’s able (with help) to grow up to it.

LIRight

How satisfying is that!

Great video!

Damn…..lol, posted in the wrong place. I need a nap!

That’s because these stories don’t give the media what they want. They like stories about victims, not stories about Americans who defend themselves by killing criminals. It’s easier to scare people when you disarm them and then create a Detroit or Chicago or LA where they aren’t safe anywhere. Once they’re scared it’s easier to pass more restrictive laws that don’t actually stop the crime, but do keep a government industry (justice) in place at ever increasing costs.

The media in this country has become a vehicle for political purpose. I think, without sounding too much like a tin foil hat dude I hope, that the government on both sides of the aisle have come to understand the value of the media in your pocket. The media needs 24 hour news cycles and politicians are only to happy to subvert that process to their own ends.

The resulting nonsense from the talking heads is visible on every network, every night….

Kid used Bidens Advice and it worked somewhat. It did not scare the intruder off.

Give that young man, his mom, and lil’ sister … a Hand!

Oh I know … that was bad!

Will Steve Wonder boycott Oklahoma over this family “standing their ground” in their own home?

ExHack

@VOV: This.

On another note, I don’t think this is a case of a youngster trying to turn his life around. The now-deceased kid sounds either mentally ill or high. If mentally ill, it’s a shame no help had been gotten for him. Mental illness is illness, just like diabetes or IBS, but is less visible and understood. Now he’s dead and, as Woodman notes, the son is going to have to live with this, even though he did what had to be done.

I am glad the family is safe. I pray for this young man and hope he can take comfort in the knowledge he saved his family. He really stepped up to manhood in short order. It is a shame it had to be that way though.

Funny how we never see Joey the rock-climbing socialist posting in these threads.

And funny how his participation has dropped WAY off since school let out. Guess it would when your free Internet access is cut off for the summer. Poor dumb bastard.

The 17 year old will live with the knowledge that he took a human’s life in defense of his mother and sister. Nothing to be ashamed of in that.

The family of the meatsack now have to sort out who gave their former-child drugs, and go after that person.

2/17 Air Cav

Sounds like the 16-year old home invader was loaded to the gills on something. I can’t guess what but it certainly wasn’t of the calming variety. Unfortunately, a propensity for rational discourse and the exercise of sound judgment aren’t the characteristics of street-drug users. Like has been said of many an alcoholic, “He was a good husband and father–when he wasn’t drunk and beating the hell out of his wife and kids.”

Mandrax

I really think all of these “feel good stories” should be compiled and listed on a separate website, a website that is literally nothing but the list of news articles about defensive gun uses, laid out and organized in the most simple, straightforward, easy to read layout imaginable, for the sole purpose of being a quick and easy resource that people can link to in ANY online debate about the merits of gun ownership and defensive gun use by responsible people.

But he was only minding his own business breaking into these people’s house! Maybe he was lost and needed direction!

I like these feel good stories, it tends to break up the onslaught of posers we’ve been having lately…
