My day is made
TSO spent a night sloshing suds with Staff Sergeant Salvatore Giunta, one of the few folks wearing a Medal of Honor who we won’t ever have to investigate. And, TSO got Sal’s book autographed for me;
On top of that, my Mom is coming down for the weekend with my Vietnam veteran uncle, so this weekend is looking good.
Thanks, Sal. You’ll never know how much that means to me.
Category: Who knows
Dude,
You’re FAMOUS!!!
Seriously, You ought to frame that thing in glass.
/I’m totally jealous.
COOL!!
That is layered in freaking awesome.
What’d you autograph for him, though?
Trying REALLY hard not to covet here … ah!
It’s a blessing! You’ve earned it, Jonn … only a little coveting … maybe … 🙂
On a related note, Sal is signing another 100 books for me, and we are giving them away for a $20 donation to Operation Comfort Warrior. 100 percent of the proceeds will go to charity. Even the books are bought from another fund of money that’s not a part of the charity, so it’s all going to wounded vets.
So, stay tuned, and let me know if you are interested. I don’t know how fast the 100 will go, but Sal’s such a good dude, he pretty much said he’d sign as many as we wanted.
What a way to have your day made!!!! Count me as interested in a book..
That is a ‘WOW’ moment.
(You forgot to mention the book title.)
When will they be available?
“Seriously, You ought to frame that thing in glass.”
Yeah, one-inch-thick glass, preferably bullet proof, gilded frame, and fireproof display box with locking doors. And don’t forget the white gloves for handling.
Congrats!
That one’s certainly a “keeper”, Jonn. Have to say I’m a bit envious.
Good for you.
I think that’s great. Have a good weekend, Jonn!
All I can say is I’m jealous !! Thats AWESOME !
@5, TSO, count me in when books are ready.
For anyone not familiar with OCW:

TSO, I’m in for at least 3 books!
TSO tell me when and how and call me interested!!!
@TSO, Give a heads up, most interested
Thanks Pat, I should have put the link in myself.
Yes everybody, I will let you all know first. Honestly, the first 100 books went faster than we expected. Like, in under 10 minutes. I was glad I had pulled one out for Jonn earlier. I even had him sign Jonn’s first.
@TSO I’m interested in a few. Thanks for the heads up. BTW glad Jonn was able to get one first.
I call dibs on one of the books. BTW where do I sign up for a job where I get to go to gun conventions, talk to Oliver North, and drink beer with MOH recipiants.
Nice swag.
A good and honorable man…
OMG. I’ll pitch in for 2 books. I’d take more but don’t want to deprive anyone. You have my email, please let me know where to send the cash.
Heck yeah, I’m in for a book!!! Where do I sign?
I’m as poor as a church mouse, but I’d make it happen for this.
Beyond thrilled for you, Jonn. Seavey got that to you in record time, too.
Now I’m anxious for the day that I get to take a photo of my 2 favorite guys together. We have to make that happen!
@23, that thought had occured to me. So, if we get a commitment on #1, I’ll get #2 there, if I have to foot it myself.
Very cool indeed!
Also spent a weekend with Sal here at Benning, drinking beer and having dinner after the Sky Soldier memorial dedication. He was awesome, and it was great to talk to him without any politics. He is a really top notch guy. I wish him the best. Good for you on the book!
Definitely count me in for one as well if possible, please.
I heard that Sal was signing his book at Buckley AFB last December and asked my son to buy his book and get it autographed. Since my son was a new airman, freshly back from tech school, I thought it would be great for him to meet Sal.
When the day came, my son told me that he couldn’t get away from his shop and he missed it. I was quite disappointed.
Imagine my surprise when he gave me the autographed book for Christmas! He totally had me snowed. Since he was almost the last in line, he also got to have an extended conversation with Sal, which was an even better gift. What a great, and humble, guy.
TSO, Please I would (WANT) one if any more become available. I have a singe by Jack Lucas(MOH= Marines, WWII. Sal’s book would be a great add to my signed books. Thank You Joe
