Wikileaks trial leaks

| March 13, 2013

Some of the hippies at the Breanna Manning trial broke the rules and released a recording of his statement to the adoring hordes of filthy devotees says Associated Press in a link to us by Andy;

The Freedom of the Press Foundation, a group co-founded by Pentagon Papers leaker Daniel Ellsberg, posted the 68-minute recording of Manning’s voice on its website. The group also posted an edited, five-minute version on YouTube, featuring Manning’s rationale for sending WikiLeaks an unclassified video of a deadly 2007 Army helicopter attack on civilians in Iraq.

The recording was from a Feb. 28 court-martial pretrial hearing at Fort Meade, near Baltimore. News organizations reported on Manning’s’ statement at the time, but spectators were prohibited from recording the proceedings. Those in the courtroom were searched for recording equipment beforehand, and about two dozen reporters watching a closed-circuit video feed in a separate building had to agree in writing not to record the hearing.

They did the same thing to us when I was at CCTV broadcast of the Guantanamo trial, but ya know, you can’t trust hippies as far as you thrown them. of course it was Daniel Ellsburg group that released the audio and Ellsburg, the guy who leaked the Pentagon Papers doesn’t see the problem;

He said Manning, who has been locked up for more than 2 1/2 years awaiting trial, deserves to have his voice heard outside the courtroom.

“We thought that it was time for the public to hear his voice for the first time,” Ellsberg said.

Yeah, well, it’s not for them to decide, it’s up to the judge. I really hate hippies.

Hippies breaking rules. This is my shocked face. Really.

Anyone want to give an over/under on long before Manning’s defense lawyers start questioning his ability to get a “fair trial” because of this leak?

This is what happens when you make it socially unacceptable to punch hippies.

This is what happens when you make it socially unacceptable to run hippies over with a road grader….

So, the public gets to see what a self-serving crapweasel Manning is and some hippies go to jail. I’m not seeing any downside.

68W58: Google “pretrial publicity”.

Hondo-really?!? This case has ready gotten plenty of publicity. No judge is going to order a new trial because of this. Manning is going to prison, and unless Obama pardons him (not inconceivable), stay there for a while. This is a non-factor in his legal proceedings.

68W58: don’t be so sure. It’s worked for quite a number of others in the past.

I’m guessing his lawyer raises the issue of either prosecutorial misconduct (in leaking or allowing the leak of the audio) or adverse publicity precluding a fair trial fairly soon. Hearing the individual himself admit the crime is much more damaging than reading a written account – at least, that will be the argument.

Whether it works or not remains to be seen. But you never know. I wouldn’t have though Hassan would still be awaiting trial at this point, either. He is.

If Reuters is to be believed he pled guilty to misusing classified material, so he will go to jail for that. “Aiding the enemy” was probably a stretch in any event-if he isn’t convicted on that I won’t lose any sleep.

This is what happens when you make it socially unacceptable to taser hippies.

Ex-PH2

This is what happens when it’s socially unacceptable to spay and neuter hippies.

This is what happens when it’s socially unacceptable to herd hippies into the New Mexico dessert and expose them to thermonuclear fireballs.

Someone broke security protical: id say gag and bag the puke for smuggling a clandestine recording device past the courtroom security: also the small non disclosure statement they signed… id get the riot act for mine, this cornhole needs to pay.
