More from Chuckles the Clown
Well, good old “Chuckles the Clown” Schumer, D-NY, is at it again – opening his mouth and spouting idiocy. Anyone surprised?
Seems that Chuckles gave an interview with HuffPost Live the other day. You know, HuffPo –that major online wannabe liberal media outlet that pays its authors and contributors so well?
Here’s what Chuckles had to say when asked about whether his colleagues were “willing to admit” that the NRA is a “fringe group”:
“Well they sure are a fringe group, but whether enough of my colleagues are ready to admit that, I’m not sure.
They are a very extreme group. They don’t even represent average gun holders.”
A link to video of the interview can be found at the link above.
A “fringe group”? Hardly, Chuckles. By definition, a “fringe group” is viewed favorably by a small minority, with a large majority viewing them unfavorably.
According to the latest NBC/WSJ polling, 41% of Americans view the NRA favorably; 34%, unfavorable. Same favorable percentage as two years ago, as a matter of fact. And much better than in the 1990s, when the NRA was “underwater” (e.g., higher percentage of unfavorable views than favorable).
In comparison, 24% of Americans view the entertainment industry favorably, while 39% view the entertainment industry negatively.
Congress? According to the most recent RCP polling (7-17 Jan 2013), try an approval rate of a bit over 15% – and a disapproval rate of close to 80%. Now we’re getting close to “fringe group” territory.
Hey, Chuckles – where did you say you worked again?
Geez. As Bugs Bunny put it decades ago: “What a maroon!”

Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding. — Bible, ‘Proverbs’ 17:28.
Little chance Schumer will ever “shutteth his lips” when a live camera is present.
Love it! Absolutely need to start referring to Congress as a “fringe group!”
Thanks, Chuckles, for steering us in that direction. What a hoot!

I love politicians who believe their own hype. They can always be counted on for talking shit that just turns into pure comedy gold.
Senator Schumer should keep in mind the following:
The membership of the NRA (4, 250,000) exceeds:
*The TOTAL number of men and women in the Armed Forces of the United States, Active, Reserve, and National Guard (2,915,362 as of the beginning of 2012)
*The 683,396 full-time Federal, local, county, state, and university/college law enforcement officers in the US
*The 5,000 full-time employees of the BATF
*The 36,000 full time employees of the FBI
The total of all the above is 3,639,758. My guess is that Senator Schumer is terrified of the fact that the people he thinks are going to enforce his fantasies are outnumbered by people who are not going to roll over and die at his command.
Mike
Chuckles = Buttfuckels.
Go figure.
Out.
@5, you left one thing out of your figures:
The number of people who would agree to enforce Mr. Schumer’s fantasies is probably less than one percent of the total of non-military people. I base this on the fact that in many states, law enforcement has stated plainly that it will not allow Federal officers to seize weapons held legally by owners, and/or not enforce any new federal gun control laws. These views have been published in various newspapers. Wyoming is a state that has enacted a law forbidding Federal law enforcement to enter the state without contacting the state sheriff’s department first, on pain of being arrested.
And anyway, what does Schumer know about ‘average gun holders’? He’s in the ‘please don’t hurt me’ population group.
And where does he get that ‘average gun holders’ from? That is one of the dumbest things he has said so far.
Schumer is doing what he does best – throw verbal Molotov cocktails behind the safety from litigation as a US Senator.
Used to be Pat Leahy’s role until VP Cheney fixed his little red wagon.
Something I have noticed in all this that kind of has my sense’s tingling is, talk of “shareholders” in gun control. Am I to take it to mean, everybody on their side of the creek?
@5: That’s just NRA membership, which isn’t the whole of those that would tell Chuckie to fuck off.
Trouble is he’s an “elected maroon”
it’s only Sunday folks! wait until tomorrow when these scumbags are back from yachting!
On behalf of all NYer’s I wish I could apologize, however considering 40 – 60 % of down stater’s are consuming large amounts of the most wonderfully noxious and euphoric koolaid, while lapping up generous benefits from the federal government, my apology would be disingenuous.
On a related note, me and my new Pre-Ban Colt AR-15 are doing fine. Purchased only hours before the Gov outlawed such transactions, my new weapon will be placed in a wall mounted oak display with brass plaque that reads: “IN CASE OF TYRRANY – BREAK GLASS”.
Wanna have fun at lib blogs regarding this schmuck? Tell them that he won an NRA marksmanship badge and certificate. It’s true. Just leave out the part that he did so while a kid at summer camp.
Gaaaaaaaad damit.
PH2–no, Chuckie has a no-restriction NY CCW permit. He’s one of those, “Freedom for me, but not for thee” kinda guys.
(Sits at her desk, shaking her head)…
He’s such an ASSHOLE.
And I’m being nice when I say that. I can come with worse.
Neat.
I don’t think anybody else in my family has been in an extreme fringe group associated with guns since they left Ireland. 😀
The Emperor of the Senate Hairy Reid poking fun at the Chuckster…these guys deserve each other.
From The Weekly Standard:
Even his ostensible allies aren’t spared Reid’s nastiness. At a recent Capitol press conference with fellow Senate Democratic leaders, Reid joked about New York senator Chuck Schumer’s weight. Schumer was displaying a chart on a small piece of paper to the gathered members of the media. “I was told in second grade to hold it under your chin,” Schumer said.
“Chuck, you’re a lot older, though,” Reid broke in. “Which chin?”

@14: Master Chief; I would suggest you have that display case hidden, because you don’t need to make it easy for them to find when they come to take it.
Schumer is the gift that keeps on giving!
I would disagree that the cops won’t enforce new gun laws or executive orders…you only need to watch them shooting in a crowd in Anaheim this past summer or countless other similar examples to understand they do what they’re told, morality of the law doesn’t enter into on the law enters into it.
If it’s legal today and illegal tomorrow count on your police force to act in accordance with their masters rules…
VOV–difference between Anaheim and any large-scale gun grab:
The folks in Anaheim were unarmed. The folks who the police/FBI/ATF/etc will visit won’t be.
Oh, and for the record, VOV–what those folks in Anaslime were doing was bordering on riot. Look at the two gang-bangers they shot and why.
Sparky, not everyone gathered around was a rioter. Some were ladies with kids…”accidentally” releasing a K9 animal into a group of people sitting in the grass with kids isn’t good form for the police department. Clearly some areas were rioting, but others not so much. The fact the cops were shining lights at the people with cameras during the evening hours indicates they did not want to be filmed. I’ve never trusted the police, to this day I still don’t. I understand they have a difficult job, and if they don’t want to do it under the constraint imposed on them they should quit. No one forced them to become a police officer and if they don’t like the ROE they are not under contract and are free to quit when they like. I also understand that in communities without community police that rotating officers means the police have no idea who does or doesn’t belong in any given neighborhood. I realize my view is colored by my perspective and experience and perhaps I am not the best one to judge these events. When I see a dog accidentally released into a crowd I tend to believe it didn’t slip out of the handler’s grasp. I tend to believe it was done to send a message. The more things change, the more they don’t in some respects. The other thing I do understand is that it didn’t get tons of airplay because it wasn’t one little white girl in a trunk, or a pretty white co-ed missing in Aruba, or 20 little upper class white kids in a nice neighborhood in Connecticut. It was just some hispanics who may or may not have been gang bangers, but they live where some gang bangers live so f$ck them….kind of like when the government tried to serve a warrant to one guy and killed 79 others in the process….I’m not going to trust this administration and its minions any more than I trust any of them. Schumer is just one example of a long line of hypocritical lying pr1cks who use any… Read more »
@22: There is a growing list of County Sherrifs that are saying they won’t enforce any new gun laws that come down from the crystal palace.
As for the police shooting into crowds………they may have gotten away with it in Anaheim, but as Sparky said; it’s because they weren’t armed. Police aren’t going to be as willing to do that if they know that the crowd is armed and will return fire (all that self preservation instinct).
@26 I sure hope you are correct sir….
VOV…I’ve lived in Los Angeles, rural BFE, and towns of pretty much every size in between. One of the things I’ve noticed is, the lower the crime rate (of which rural communities are pretty much the rule) or the better one knows the cops, the (FAR) less likely they are to pull some “thug with a badge” bullshit like they do in larger cities.
YMMV.
@28 agree with that indeed…it’s why one of the first things I did in my nice suburban town is work with the chief of police to get some grant money for a youth athletic program…
