UPDATE: Man charged after female employee shoots him in Pensacola Holiday Inn altercation

by Sarah Gail
PENSACOLA, Fla. — Marquise James, 35, is charged for the incident at the Downtown Pensacola Holiday Inn.

James — who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg — is being held in Escambia County Jail on these charges:

battery
stalking
simple assault
resisting arrest
smuggle contraband
cocaine possession
marijuana possession

In an update Tuesday, Pensacola Police say James immediately began punching the female employee when he approached her in the laundry room. That’s when she shot him in the leg out of self-defense.

Police add James previously stalked the woman using social media and had gone to her place of employment before.

“She drew a handgun that she had legally and shot him once in the leg,” Pensacola Police Officer Mike Wood said. “She did nothing wrong. She was protecting herself like she should’ve done.”

‘What I do?’ Armed robbery suspect leads GA deputies on 100 mph chase

WSBTV.com News Staff
A man has been arrested after leading Georgia deputies on a high-speed chase.

Lee County officials said it happened Tuesday, Feb. 4, just after 11 p.m. That’s when a deputy responded to a call about a robbery suspect in the Publix parking lot on Highway 19.

Authorities said Nechaning Deshaun Lofton had allegedly stolen a gray Kia Niro during an armed robbery in Albany. As deputies were responding to the call, they spotted an SUV matching the description speeding southbound on Highway 19.

Deputies tried to conduct a traffic stop but Lofton sped away. The sheriff’s office said Lofton reached speeds over 100 mph in a 45 mph zone, blowing through a red light at North Slappey Boulevard and Ledo Road.

Dashcam video shows Lofton losing control and crashing into a home on Gillespie Avenue. As deputies tried to arrest Lofton, he began to run away. After being caught Lofton could be heard on video asking deputies, “What I do?”

He was arrested and transported back to Albany due to the armed robbery case. The LCSO said Lofton’s driver’s license has been suspended multiple times.

Just because you are in a Holiday Inn doesn’t mean you get room service…in the laundry room. Good on Ms Thang for defending herself, but I would recommend some range time for her.

Pro tip to dirtbags…don’t run from the popo…they’ll call in the whole clan and you’ll just go to jail tired…or to the morgue. I’ve been in both Albany GA and Brooklyn NY and neither one is a good place to try a high speed escape. Lotsa traffic. “What I do?” You do teh stoopid!

Popo Super musta been talking about a plasticized abomination. You can legitimately turn them back into Tupperware so there is that.

Lubs me some nice little wheelies. Not that I’d see a pressing need for one that goes from .357 to 9mm. The fan boi seemed to be excited about it, so…

Kinda late in the AM for me to be the FIRST to comment. Been a Brook Benton song here (IYKYK). And gonna be like that for awhile.

MRS D has a Charter Arms .38 special, it’s a nice shooting little gun. I’ve been curious about the 45 ACP revolver that Charter makes.

I’ve had two of the .44 Specials before. I’d happily buy another, they were good carry gins and shot well. About the best I could get was maybe 3″ or so at 25 yards slow fire, so not tack driving, but easily minute of asshole.

I have a tiger stripe bulldog. It is pretty nice for the money. I would suggest if you intend to purchase one to inspect the bore and rifling. I failed to do that and bought one with a crude bore. Sent it back to Charter and they honed it but it should have been replaced. Other than that the grip angle is what I call a Broderick Crofford grip. From the hip.

Graybeard

Maybe the lady defending herself just couldn’t get a better shot in the struggle, but it would have been beautiful if she had taken his gonads out with that shot.

Tallywhagger

That was almost exhilarating. I didn’t count the number of rounds fired but it looks like most of them didn’t go where they were supposed to.

Sad for the car.
