October surprise?

Yeah, I don’t think that they need to have connections to the September 11th attack, they only need to be scruffy-looking Libyans. I find it disconcerting that the Obama Administration, while denying that they’re releasing classified information, release more of what should be classified information as long as it looks like their guy is guy is engaged in national security operations.
Details on the administration’s position and on its search for a possible target were provided by three current and one former administration official, as well as an analyst who was approached by the White House for help. All four spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the high-level debates publicly.
Yeah, but that’s OK at this Justice Department, I suppose. Weren’t we told recently that they were tracking down previous leaks? Did they hire OJ Simpson to find the leakers while he’s looking for Nichole’s killer?
“They are aiming for a small pop, a flash in the pan, so as to be able to say, ‘Hey, we’re doing something about it,'” said retired Air Force Lt. Col. Rudy Attalah, the former Africa counterterrorism director for the Department of Defense under President George W. Bush.
Attalah noted that in 1998, after the embassy bombing in Nairobi, the Clinton administration fired cruise missiles to take out a pharmaceutical factory in Sudan that may have been producing chemical weapons for Al Qaeda.
Yeah, well, this decade’s weapon of choice is drones, cruise missiles are so passe, so 1990s.

About the only surprise here is that anyone could still be surprised by this behavior… whether in October or not.

IF the administration learns that terrorists were behind the attacks? What are the alternative conclusions, a high school pep rally that got out of hand, a YouTube video trailer? This is beyond comprehension or belief. Knuckleheads all.
The dems are still waving the Bin Laden flag around as proof that the Metrosexual-In-Chief is one tough Hombre when it comes to foreign policy and dealing with bad guys, yet the reports are that they knew exactly who at least 2 of the Benghazi terrorists were within hours of the attack, from cell phone intercepts, and even knew where one of them on the phone was at, at that particular moment; so why are they still breathing?
This is all window dressing and anyone that would now believe the bs is dumber than a sack of hammers.
What angers me the most is that this guy is going to risk not just American assets, but American lives, in order to bolster his campaign points, to try and help him stay in office. Eff that.
I can’t wait until he’s unemployed and out of OUR White House.
Yeah, lives, AW1, the lives of good people who are powerless, under threat of court martial, to say that the Commander in Chief is a POS who needs to be tossed out on his skinny ass.
Stevie Wonder could see this one coming. I wouldn’t be suprised, since tonight’s debate is about foreign policy, if a press conference is held saying that we killed the perpetrators of the Libya attack in a drone strike. Maybe that is just the cynic in me, but after reading this blog for a while I don’t believe that I am alone in this line of thinking.
Oh, it will happen, Twist! No doubt whatever. Doesn’t matter who is actually killed, of course. Probably doesn’t even matter when or where as long as a photo array can be constructed which looks good to go along with the story.

I’m hoping the real October surprise is going to be that the average, VOTING American is smarter than BO’s campaign is giving them credit for.
@3 If the attackers were foolish enough to be using their cell phones, then letting them do so and gaining the ability to roll up the full network, including planners and leadership, is of considerably more value than rolling up two shooters.
If that’s the case, it’s a judgement call – they might go into the wind, they might continue to be idiots. Without knowing more, it’s hard to scream incompetence at our side, though.
