US spends $70k for ad to apologize for video in Pakistan
Even though the Obama Administration admitted yesterday that the YouTube video about Mohammad was a red herring for the attacks on our embassies across the Arab cresent, they’ve paid $70,000 for an ad to run in Pakistan apologizing for the video, which most Americans had nothing to do with in the filming or production to mollify the Muslim world, according to BBC;
The adverts seek to emphasise the message reiterated by US officials throughout the crisis: that the “disgusting” film was not made by the US government, but that there is never any justification for violence.
The embassy described the advert as a “public service announcement” and repeated the statements from Mr Obama and Ms Clinton on its Twitter feed.
A caption on the advert, which ends with the seal of the US embassy in Islamabad, reads “Paid Content”, the Associated Press reports.
State department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland confirmed the US spent $70,000 (£43,220) to air the clip on seven Pakistani TV stations.
The video is at the BBC link if you’re interested in watching our President and Hillary in full dhimmi mode.
A better use of the ad time would have been to tell the Islamic world to grow-the-hell up and to stop being tools of the Islamists.
Thanks to ROS for the link.
ADDED: The ad doesn’t seem to be mollifying the Pakistanis. After Friday prayers, 5,000 of them took to the streets and terrified their own country. Obama burned in effigy – good show, ya buncha racists.

Makes sense to me; that is, this is consistent with the Obama administration’s penchant for apologizing for America and Americans. The money would have been better spent making a film that explains the uniqueness of US constitutionalism, with a special emphasis on the 1st Amendment to that wonderful American document. Such a film might help other nations to understand that freedom from government constraint on expression is not without its pitfalls but are outweighed mightily by the freedom the amendment extends to us. Of course, such a film would require its producers to believe these things. Thus, no film.
The extremists within our own country are just showing their true colors. Freedom? They don’t support freedom at all. That there remain citizens who refuse to be controlled by them must be terribly frustrating for them.
2-17 AirCav, if I may pick a nit or two. First, the viewing audience must understand the meaning of “freedom” which they don’t (goat rapers). They have been living under a secular dictator or religious dictator, if not both, for generations. Too, look at the societies we’re dealing with? Most live in abject poverty, have never been farther away from their than a days donkey ride away and are basically uneducated. The second, isn’t so much a nit, as agreeing with you that hollywierd or the “dear leader’s” staff would/could produce such film.
If they are rioting over a youtube clip that most of them probably haven’t seen I highly doubt that a commercial that most of them probably will never see will help.
But i thought the video HAD nothing to do with the attacks??? that what King Messiah Obummer said
Can we just light that 70k on fire? It’ll be cheaper in the long run than this festering monument to near sighted stupidity.
@6 70k worth of Napalm would indeed be a more prudent investment, using it on scores of militants intent on committing murder at your embassy would indeed be priceless….what a different video if the protesters after attacking the wall were shown burning to death and screaming in agony…
@3. Not a problem. De-nit. I am not deluding myself into thinking that a film about our Constitution and its 1st Amendment would actually be viewed or, if viewed, be understood. The Obama crapolla apology film won’t have any effect either–that is, other than incensing Americans. It does, however, send a clear message to our enemies that we (c/o Obama and company)are willing to deny our freedom-loving heritage to appease them. Somebody get H. Clinton and B. Obama matching umbrellas, please.
Instead of stating we will not accept violence as a response to speech and we intend to take appropriate measures to defend ourselves, we are trying to explain why we are not bad people so please don’t kill our ambassadors……
Nemo me impune laccessit — make it clear we are done F#cking around with these sh1theels
I find it incomprehensible that the Moron In Chief continues to persist in saying that the unrest in the Middle East is due to an online trailer of a movie that no one has seen, or that there is even the slightest bit of chatter on the news networks about releasing the blind sheikh, who engineered the 1993 truck bombing of the WTC. I can’t believe anyone with an ounce of common sense would even be discussing something like that. Sen. McCain and Sen. Graham both said this morning that the State Dept. briefings are as useless as you can get, that they have more up-to-date information from the news media than they were given in the so-called ‘secret’ meeting this morning. And even CNN is slowly “coming around” to the idea that the official party line is hogwash.
So now, the USA is being regarded as toothless and powerless because of the asshole who got elected in 2008 on the promise of “hope and change”. Yeah, okay – “hope” is hot air and worthless and doesn’t pay the bills or put food on the table. And “change” – I don’t think higher unemployment, job losses, a sluggish and shrinking economy and the very real threat of war on the horizon are exactly the changes that anyone was looking for in 2008. I hope the morons who voted for that asshole are happy. They sure did get hope and change, didn’t they?
My apologies to one and all for the expletives. There was a very good editorial in favor of increasing our military presence in my local paper this morning.
Here’s the link to it:

This is unbelieveable! $70,000 to kiss the ass of a country that pretends to like us, while constantly plotting against us.
This is just in from the AP:

I’m waiting to see what kind of obfuscation comes out of the White House press conference room over this.
Bo is still insisting that the video had something to do with the Benghazi attack. I guess he’d have to be there and see what actually happened in order to change his story. He truly is dumber than a box of rocks.
I have an idea, why don’t they spend that money on pork rinds and ship them over there.
I’m all for freedom of speech etc…supported it for years…but I also think people should take responsibilty for what they fuck up. I’d suggest taking this asshole who made this (poor quality) movie and let him go to Muslim land and explain what he was trying to do. I wouldn’t provide him any SECFOR either….just let him explain his freedom of speech and shit.
@ #13 Sure, let’s just do that, but put him in line after all the millions of hippies, commies, and assorted other wackos who have said/done stupid things even more offensive to the US population. They can take their ACLU lawyers with them to school the terrorists in what freedom of speech means.
In the meanwhile, if the production of a silly video seems to justify to the poser et al what they did, perhaps the killing of one of our ambassodors would justify the drenching of every mosque in this country with melted pig fat? Logically, the burning of the mosques would be more like what was actually done to us, but making a mess in a building which might serve some useful purpose sounds more practical.
Just how far are they willing to take this fractured imitation of thought that they are foisting upon us?
Now that I think about it I was kinda hit on by a persian guy on my vacation earlier this year. It was worrisome.
I demand an apology from all persians and compensatory damages or I shall request congress to declare a state of war to exist.
