J. D. (another Army guy) has a post up at his place and I stole his title.
President Obama awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Bob Dylan. He also gave one to Delores Heurta, a Hugo Chavez toady and Chair of the Democratic Socialists of America. Ms. Huerta is on tape proclaiming that Republicans hate Latinos.
Sorry Jonn, I think you didn’t get the latter message?

Just imagine the President and Dylan on stage together. Both with flattop guitars and harmonicas in neck holders. See the haze from the pot smoke? The President speaks about the unfairness of having to pay back ones student loans and declares that he will cut enough out of the defense budget to forgive all of them – keeping just enough for the drone fleet.

Can Bill and his sax be there as well?
Bob Dylan has done a lot for freedom, like…uh…I’m sure there must be something. Making crappy music? No, that’s not it. Smoking doobies until he can hardly form a coherent sentence? That’s not it either. Um…okay, I’m stumped.
Somebody ought to give the presidential medal of freedom to Lila Rose. She deserves it.
In world that awards Obama the Nobel Peace Prize just for being Obama, this doesn’t seem to absurd.
This is just on more way Obama can say, “I know you’re throwing my worthless ass to the curb in five months, so fuck ya’ll.”
The gloves — and masks — are coming off. If we ever had reason to doubt what the next four years will be like if Obama wins the election…we don’t now.

Without Bob Dylan we would have never had that amazing intro to Watchmen. Unfortunately the rest of the movie sucked and featured a disturbingly naked Billy Crudup (which wasn’t even attractive to any of my gay male friends), but whaddaya gonna do?
I don’t have a problem with Bob Dylan getting a medal, so much. But Delores Heurta? Chair of the Democratic Socialists of America??
And this has WHAT to do with FREEDOM, exactly???
