Who is the victim here?
UpNorth sends us a link to wonderfully heart warming story about a fellow named Anthony Miranda and his intended victim. For a hint on how the story turns out, that’s Miranda in the mug shot;
The victim was sitting in his car near Kenneth Avenue and 55th Street about 11:30 p.m. Friday when [Anthony Miranda] came up to the car and asked him for a light, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.
The man in the car replied that he didn’t have a light, and the other man pulled out a handgun and demanded the driver’s valuables, Mirabelli said. The driver handed over his cash, wallet and valuables, and the gunman then ordered him out of the car.
At some point, the older man was able to grab hold of the handgun, and during a struggle, the robber discharged a round, striking himself in the ankle, Mirabelli said.
The victim was able to hold the robber until police arrived. When he turned the robber over to police, the victim told them that he participates in Ultimate Fighting Championships,
See, doesn’t that story just warm the cockles of your heart?
Justice.
I guess you didn’t want to ruin an otherwise happy story with this additional info: “Miranda […] is on parole in several 2007 residential burglary cases for which he was sentenced to six years in prison. He was released from prison in March 2010. He previously served time for convictions in two 2005 burglary cases.” Correct me if I’m wrong but our boy seems to be a crime wave. His adult record began at 18. That’s when he was convicted of two burglaries. Fast forward to 2007 and he continues his budding burglar career but he’s caught, convicted, and sentenced to serve six years. Less than three years later, the Parole Board cuts him loose and he returns the favor by committing armed robbery. So who says the criminal justice system doesn’t work? It works great if you’re a bad guy!
Jail time is just part of the cost of doing business to a criminal.
Hmmm… I wonder if Miranda had both his City and State gun permits as required by Chicago and Illinois law??? This is a classic example of why Gun Control laws DON’T work, crooks by definition don’t obey the law no matter what it is. instead of beating Mirnada should have been on the recieving end of a couple 230 grain rounds to the chest, think of all the money it would have saved the people of Chicago… Great laws they have up there, disarm the honest people and make it hard for them to own a firearm and damn near impossible to carry it and you have created a society of sheep for the wolves to prey on!
Karma…sometimes it works, doesn’t it Tony?
Once you get out, bring your Bitch ass down here to KCMO and try that shit…I can almost guarantee you someone here will shoot you in your face and solve your seemingly habitual societal and behavioral problems for good.
well, I’m happy this turd got his dumb ass kicked…but I do feel if Ill had less stupid gun laws (where good citizens would be able to obtain a CCW) this sort of thing we be reduced by evolution.
I couldn’t stop laughing when i read that.
I imagine the cops are still laughing. And, I can hear the conversation back in the cell block. You had a gun? Wait, homes, you had a fucking gun and they beat you like a rug? What’s that? He beat you? Well, he musta been younger than you, right? Wha? He’s almost 10 years older than you? Get the fuck out, no way. You had a gun, the guy was older than you, and not only didn’t you get no money, you got shot with your own gun and got your ass kicked and got arrested? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Nice one, UpNorth. So true–and so funny. How about killer’s mug. Did he eat some street or what.
I think he may have eaten some street, some knees, some elbows, a fist or two, and maybe a car bumper. I think Tony should seriously reconsider his career choice, like give some serious thought to running a weather station on an ice floe in the Arctic.
another punk that thought he was tough until he met up with a man that really was tough. Have fun in federal pound-you-in-the-ass prison jackoff
I live about 5 miles from there, but outside of Chicago. I can and do own pretty much any gun I want consistent with federal law. It could be better, but I’m far from unarmed.
I just love that they charged him with illegally discharging a firearm after he was forced to shoot himself in the ankle.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Shocked he’s still alive. I’d have shot that piece of shit in a second.
