Intellectually lazy

| September 23, 2011

Tom sent us this video from New York City the other day when the intellectually lazy protested the execution of Troy Davis – a few hours too late to do anything about the execution. It stars our own Colonel Ann Wright. I don’t know which organization she’s representing in the video since she switches from VFP to Code Pink as the need for her purse arises. But obviously she and the other other interviewees are only familiar with the vacuous talking points;

One of the interviewees admitted that he wasn’t all that familiar with the case, but somehow he arrives at the conclusion that Davis was innocent.

I’m not convinced that I like the idea of the government executing people, but the reason that I’m not adamant about it is because I don’t want to be associated with these morons.

I didn’t see anyone chanting “I am Lawrence Russell Brewer”, because if they were truly opposed to the death penalty, they’d have been associating themselves with Brewer on the same level as they supported Davis. Otherwise, they’re supporting a cop killer who was positively ID’d by 37 witnesses who didn’t recant after he shot two people in broad daylight.

The title says abuse by police… Ummm… By what, honking annoying horns on vespas? Really? How do they think the poor cops feel every time they start burning sage and banging their damn drums?

Frankly Opinionated

1 min 40 sec is enough for me. Don’t these people have a day job? Or is it like the Obumbler inauguration- hundreds of thousands attended, and 14 of them missed work.

Cedo Alteram

The infamous Colonel Wright strikes again!

Doc Bailey

“Um yeah I’m against the death penalty because its like wrong, and its so totally racist” (they did exicute a white guy on the same day so maybe that’s racism too)

I’d like to ask, what evidence there is that he’s innocent? the prosecution called 37 freaking witnesses, matched the shell casings to his gun, the only thing they DIDN’T have was some idiot with a camera phone taping it (no doubt that’ll be the next one we hear about).

side note: is Wright REALLY a COL? I find it incredibly hard to belive someone that’s that bone headed could have made COL. I mean I haven’t seen a more vacant expression since the last time you put sheehan on this blog.

melony

@#6 – He had 3 stays of execution and each time refused to testify for himself that he was innocent of this crime.
Erick Erickson over at RedState.com has a great post on this:

“I’d like to ask, what evidence there is that he’s innocent? “ That’s the thing, Doc. There is exactly nothing that says he’s innocent, there isn’t even anything that says he’s “not guilty”,which is totally different from “innocent”.
Somewhere in the appeal process, Federal judge reviewed all of the evidence and found nothing amiss at all. The system also said the “recantations” had the smell of limburger cheese left out in the sun on a 90 degree day.
The article that melony linked to is a very good one on this whole kerfuffle. There’s also a very good article on the former DA who prosecuted Davis here. http://www.huliq.com/10473/former-da-troy-davis-case-says-doubts-are-manufactured-video

CI Roller Dude

From the few protest I had to work at over the years (usually getting overtime- wasting the tax payers dollar) I saw a few people who were really into the topic- and treated it with respect, a few people who showed up and had no idea what they were protesting…and a few people who showed up just to start trouble…

jonp

ok, hold on a sec. He was innocent without any evidence? 37 eyewitnesses in broad daylight and of the 6 that recanted the judge that reviewed the case found 4 not credible and 2 of them Davis refused to allow to testify. Hey, I read in the village voice the man was legal lynching a brother in Ga it must be true I’m marching.

play nice

Good Lord, what crappy teeth in the mouths of these beasts.

and WTF, cops on scooters?
