It’s McCain/Palin
I’ve been secretly hoping for months McCain would Conservative-up his ticket with Palin (also Hunter or Thompson…but Ms. Palin will do just fine). I think, despite what some of our resident trolls will write, this cinches the Presidency for the Republicans.
Even Michelle Malkin, who has been sour on McCain, is on board now, sort of.
Newsbusters catches CNN declaring her inexperienced…her two years of executive experience compared to Obama three years as one voice among a hundred. Neither Obama nor Biden have ever been leaders of anything after their college years. So good luck with that line, Democrats.

Pretty good pick for Libertarian-minded people. I like how she sold off the governor’s jet in Alaska. That’s change I can at least start to believe in. But I’m still way turned off the Repubs due to the increase in the defecit and govt. under Bush. But I’ll give them a chance next week during the convention.

10:15AM 8/29: With the news that Sarah Palin will be the VP candidate for the Republicans; the democrats will call the Waaaaambulance in 5,4,3,2,1,,,,,,,,

I think her selection is an Excellent choice. Like Lt. Nixon, I too am appalled by the Republican Party’s addiction to pork, even though they don’t quite seem to get the message yet, notwithstanding getting their clocks cleaned in 2006, and possibly again in 2008. Governor Palin, on the other hand, appears to be the type of principled reformer that we’d hoped the Congressional porkers would be.
I’ve never been a dedicated McCain fan, but I’m prepared to be a dedicated Palin supporter.
I think Palin was the 2nd best pick next to Hunter, but the VP doesn’t seem to have much input, except for maybe Cheney. I’ll wait & see.
I’m excited….but I gotta do a lot more research on her before I completely sign off on the ticket.
Am slightly annoyed bec. I feel like I’m getting played. I know, I know, I know — it’s politics.
But it’s a make-up call. “Now you’ll vote for me bec. there’s a woman on the ticket.”
(And I am a McCain supporter.)
Having looked at a Bio for Palin on the web, maybe she will be the future Iron Maiden for America, like Maggie Thatcher was for England. Either way, this is good for Republicans, even if they don’t win the election.
Dear Jonn “cinches the Presidency” What are you smokin now?
I think it’s quite the opposite. This just lost it for McCain. She’s not qualified to be president, Biden is. This throws white men back to Obama.
KATH:
Yes she is a woman, and yes that is a part of the strategy, and yes she’s a “Hockey Mom”, all of that; but additionally; she is A Patriot, Smart, Aware, Conservative, Lady who will be of great benefit to the country, even more than to John McCain, or the GOP. After all, Britney Spears is a woman- we wouldn’t want her for VP, would we. She is and will be much more than a female icon. She is an executive, and good at it.
I see it as a true Gold Star on the board for y’ll. Go Ladies!

Jeff In the eyes of many, she’s more qualified for the Presidency than the Obamessiah. Even a week’s worth of serving as Governor ANYWHERE is more executive experience than he has. Neighborhood activist does NOT equal POTUS.
BTW, you were a McCain supporter before he chose her and this decision has turned you around?????
And, in 4 years, should McCain want to retire, Sarah Palin and Bobby Jindal could run, (in that order), and clean house for us, all the way through the congress.

******* In my post above, my statement is in no way sexist or racist. We’ve been demanding a housecleaning for awhile, and those are 2 of the best of the “young” politicians. They have great voter bases, and re 100% for America. No more, no less.

Thrilled !!
Well, thanks for clarifying that, Frank, bec. I was pretty sure you patted me on the ass the first time you said it.
To the troll,
Does this “clinch” the election for McCain?
Who can say? There are a rather significant number of women voters out there who appear to think that a Certain Political Party has completely crapped all over them. Some of them may actually be men.
On the other hand, the Republican Party has often said that, if a qualified aspirant showed up, the Party would support her. Palin appears to be an American “Margaret Thatcher.” This is a moment of “put up or shut up” for BOTH political parties.
Which party is failing this test? [Hint – it starts with a D.]
I have already announced myself as a Palin-supporter. I think that she may be, in fact, the next REAGAN! Even if the Republicans lose this election, and absent any REAL reason to object to her, I am currently inclined to support her run for the Presidency of the United States.
You just might get your communist. His administration will be a disaster, because it is not supported by any legal historical precedent, and persons in the government will raise too many legal objections to it. Unless, of course, he just sells you all down-the-river (as his actions certainly suggests that he will).
If he actually tries to implement his communist ideology, he will likely trigger another Civil War. Contrary to liberal anticipation that the military would blindly follow orders of the government, the modern examples and experience of civil wars indicates that the military would fragment heavily, just as it did so during the 1860s.
So, worthless troll, what exactly are YOU smoking these days? Cocaine base (a.k.a., “crack”)? Feel free to answer. State, and declare, that you are doing so in complete compliance of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1001. If you have the supposed “courage of your convictions,” you would do so. Otherwise, you’re just another pimple on the ass of humanity who is not worth listening too.

She could be like that one president we had, and start a shadow government, use the money from trafficking weapons to Iran to kills nuns and babies in South America. Oh that was that guy regean he was a real piece of shit
Bob Get some help.
I’m tired of people saying Gov. Palin will pick up the Clinton supporters.
Gov. Palin will pick up a heck of a lot of voters from all over the political field. There will also be a few doughnut holes who will carp about skipping the election because Sen. McCain picked Gov. Palin. Democrats mainly, the ones who always say “I am a Republican but I won’t vote for them.”
I’ll just wait and see the poles about who actually signs on due to Gov. Palin being on the ticket.
Joyce The Poles will not have a say in this election.Palin will solidify Coserv. base but hurt the ticket in swing states like Penn.Mich and Fla.Don’t forget she called Hillary a whiner and is adamantly pro-life.Mac would have had a better shot albeit still slim if he’d picked Romney.
Jake you are an immature moron. Grow up some before you post again you twit.
Richard, I think you need to buy a clue. Obama keeps talking and pissing off middle America. He won’t carry all the states that Kerry did.
As for what Palin said, she said that Hillary had been badly treated, but she shouldn’t whine too much. Yes, she is admantantly pro life. Unlike Obama who believes in killing babies who survive botched abortions.
So explain how AYERS and REZCO going to go over in the battleground states.
“Get some help”? What kind of help do you prescribe? Are you educated, let alone an actual physician? Or are you suggesting that ACTUAL members of the Federal Government, who deal day-in and day-out with Government corruption, are supposed to kiss Obama’s ass because he’s an ultra-Corruptocrat? Sorry dude. No way in hell! Lay out your supposed credentials on the line. Or go upstairs where your parents can console you.
I’ve been through the Clinton Administration already. G.W.’s bunch have been pretty much Junior League in terms of competence, and Billy-boy’s people were actually competent, but disgust for lack of competence is a Whole Different Ballgame from Criminality. Obama is NOT the messiah. Obama is a Chicago Corruption King. If he is elected, he will spend his entire career ducking and shiving from his entire 3 years in the federal government. He’ll spend the REST of his life ducking and shiving from federal prosecutors. He’s on THAT road already.
Hey
The republicans & democrats finally agree on something. You think Palin is a good choice and so do I. The difference is we think it is great choice for the democrats. Thanks from the all the Democrats for this pick and the election. We would have won anyway…but we appreciate the help with the Palin pick. Watching the republicans spin the VP choice as good is pretty amusing.
Quotes From Others

“And that he has picked Gov. Palin solely for female votes and oil rights? Oh dear This scares me”
“I am very upset with her that she has even considered accepting with the issues in her own home.. If she is really the devoted mother as presented , why is she leaving a 4-month old child with a handicap?”
“It appears to me that Sen. McCain gets a little bit TOO excited whenever we talk of “going to war”.
“I am a liberal democrat and even I know that Palin needs to stay home and nurture her children, especially her young 4 month old with Downs Syndrome, and also the siblings who are adjusting – Where is the outcry from the stay at home Republican Mom’s?”
“Don’t forget she called Hillary a whiner and is adamantly pro-life.Mac would have had a better shot albeit still slim if he’d picked Romney.”
