Insurgent dissidents
I wonder what image the New York Times is trying to convey by calling Republican candidates “insurgents” and “dissidents”
I’m pretty sure that of FoxNews used those terms to describe a certain President’s campaign two years ago, someone would have called it racist or at the very least an attempt to conjure an image of terrorism and the war.

The left is desperate to paint the Tea Party are radical and extreme. You should see the crap the democrat party is putting out here in Colorado against Ken Buck.
He’s going to take away your social security.
He’s against allowing you to vote.
He wants to arrest and inprison all Hispanic undocumented workers.
We’ll see more of this hate speech between now and November.
Damned right we are insurgents! Insurgents against this unAmerican administration, that is more interested in self serving issues, more interested in a one world government, and more interested in taking away our rights to achieve those ends. Insurgent and pissed!
To them, we ARE insurgents and dissidents, bent on disrupting their progressive agenda.
I keep talking like that, I’ll probably end up on someone’s “No Fly” list…
Don’t worry about the term “insurgents”. From what I’ve seen of the NYT’s coverage of Iraq and Afghanistan, they certainly see the “insurgents” there as the good guys.
So I take “insurgent” as a compliment.
September 15th, the day after the NH primary, and we’re already hearing it. Hell, we don’t even know who is going to be facing Paul Hodes for the Senate seat, yet of the two who stand a chance, BOTH are being painted as “extremists”, even though they both worked under Democrat administrations (Ayotte as AG under Lynch, Lamontagne under Shaheen.)
Memo to liberals–crying wolf 1–gets old, 2–doesn’t make it so.
Once more, I have to ask…since when did supporting gun control and abortion get defined as being “moderate”, ala Michael Castle?
The sad part is that NYT feels like they are being clever in their word choice. “Oh, let’s see how they like it.” type of situation. Put the bong down and do something productive.
Not too surprising, but the headline now reads “G.O.P. Leaders Say Delaware Upset Damages Senate Hopes”
That headline started my day off with me royally pissed. Day never changed. Turd buckets.
The ad that the dems are running in mid-Michigan goes something like, “dems voted to keep teachers, fire fighters and police officers on the job, and fund by elminating tax loopholes, R’s voted for CEO’s and to let teachers, fire fighters and police officers go, making your world more dangerous”. As if the dems ever gave a shit about the troops, law enforcement or fire fighters. They do care about teachers, only because the NEA gives millions to them.
The Lame Stream Media can no longer pick R candidates, and it’s driving them nutso. Mike Castle was no conservative, or even moderate. As Rush said, Castle was an Obama Republican, much like Snowe, Collins and the rest of the NE R establishment.
Once more, I have to ask…since when did supporting gun control and abortion get defined as being “moderate”, ala Michael Castle?
=========
“Moderate” is a word they use for the ignorant and uninformed. Just like they call the Ground Zero Victory Mosque Imam and partner “moderate” when, in fact, they support Islamic Shari’a Law for America and are 9/11 Troof nutjobs.
“Moderate” is just for those people who don’t pay attention to politics and fancy themselves as “above it all” and consider themselves “moderates” or “independents” and not a part of the Left or the Right or Liberals or Conservatives. It’s a way to label oneself in an “accepted” manner, without bothering to reveal one’s actual positions. More often than not, “moderate” simply means liberal or radical progressive. They’ll have 9 out of 10 positions which are liberal or radical progressive and then 1 position which is conservative and then label themselves “moderate”.
The irony is, when looked upon in an unbiased manner, President Bush was actually a true moderate President. But the Left went so batshit crazy over the war efforts, it clouded their judgement of his domestic policy, which was moderate.
