Georgetown professor removed as department chair after publicly hoping for symbolic Iranian strike on US
University president confirms action against Jonathan Brown during House committee testimony after comments invoke outrage

A professor at Georgetown University has been removed as chair of his department and is on leave after he publicly hoped Iran would launch a “symbolic strike” on a U.S. military base, the university’s president said.
“I’m not an expert, but I assume Iran could still get a bomb easily. I hope Iran does some symbolic strike on a base, then everyone stops. I’m surprised this is what these FDD/Hasbara people have been auto-erotically asphyxiating themselves for all these years,” Dr. Jonathan Brown, the Alwaleed bin Talal chair of Islamic Civilization in the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, posted on X in June after the U.S. struck Iran’s nuclear enrichment sites.
He added, “Ironically, the main takeaways (in my non-expert opinion, and I’m happy to be corrected) from all this have nothing to do with a US attack: 1) Iran can take a licking; 2) if Israel attacks Iranian cities, it gets f—ed up pretty bad. I mean I’ve been shocked at the damage Iranian missiles caused; 3) despite his best efforts, Reza Pahlavi HVAC repair services still only third best in Nova.”
Georgetown University Interim President Robert M. Groves testified to the House Education and Workforce Committee that Brown had been removed as chair of the department and placed on leave following the tweet.
I am an expert, and I assume Professor Brown is an elitist douchebag who is now very surprised and should be unemployed. A few short months ago his bloodthirsty screed would have gained a smattering of applause from inside the echo-chamber, and nothing more. Seems Academia has recently re-discovered the Constitution and patriotism. That or they had a Come-to-Jesus meeting with their accountants over losing Federal funding. Either way it’s satisfying to see at least SOME accountability for spewing such anti-American dreck.

I’m not an expert on politics nor Islam, but how can you be a Muslim communist? The two beliefs contradict one another.
Most Islamic countries have a patronage government system in place that is similar to socialism. It relies on class and tribal distinctions but gives heavy subsidies to the poor. In wealthier countries this works by giving a basic minimum income to the poor citizens and then importing labor and management to build and run services. Forget making anything they just pump oil.
Kuwait is a good example of that where they have twice as many extra national workers as they do citizens living in the country. A citizen will get free education, health care, a monthly allowance generous enough to live on and free housing when the male gets married. Most Kuwaitis don’t have a job of any kind. It is unknown exactly how many foreigners serve in the military today but that was part of the reason they cut and ran in 1990.
Wealthy older people born into certain families own everything and the people are essentially cattle. All of the oil emirates are run this way. The people really have no chance for advancement but that doesn’t matter because they can ALL be Bernie Sanders on the farm when everyone is doing everything for them and they can watch football and porn all day.

I’ll vouch for that, did a tour in Kuwait and I NEVER saw any members of their Military that impressed me, it seemed like they expected us to wait on them whenever they came to our camp, they’ve forgotten who liberated them from Sadaam Hussein.
