US Navy Sailor accused of plotting to assassinate Nicolás Maduro

A Venezuelan government official is accusing the CIA, and Spain’s National Intelligence Center, of being involved with a plot to assassinate Nicolás Maduro. In addition to the arrested US Sailor, two other US citizens, two Spanish citizens, and one Czech citizen were arrested. Venezuelan authorities also seized 400 US rifles related to the alleged plot.

From CNN:

Interior minister Diosdado Cabello claimed that the alleged plot was led by the CIA, and aimed at assassinating Maduro.

The accusation comes as Venezuela’s opposition, multiple Latin American leaders and the United States refuse to recognize Maduro’s disputed election win, which has been followed by deadly protests during which thousands were arrested.

In a news conference on Saturday, Cabello identified the purported Navy SEAL as Wilbert Castañeda, and claimed he was the leader of the operation. The minister also named two other detained Americans: David Estrella and Aaron Barrett Logan.

CNN earlier this month reported that Castañeda was arrested in Caracas in August. At the time US authorities said he was a sailor who had traveled to Venezuela.

Last week, Venezuela’s attorney general Tarek William Saab told CNN the sailor was a Mexican-American citizen who was being investigated for entering the country without proper documentation.

Cabello said that in addition to the Americans, two Spanish citizens — José María Basoa Valdovinos and Andrés Martínez Adasme — and one Czech citizen, Jan Darmovzal, were arrested. Venezuelan authorities have also seized 400 US rifles linked to the alleged plot, he said.

“Venezuelan authorities have also seized 400 US rifles”
It’s a start but still not worth the jet.Just give him back the jet
and stuff it with as many illegals as you can.
You can forget about the rifles.

Give it just enough fuel to get there, straight there. No leisurely flying, no go around bad weather, just enough to land and taxi to the terminal. Not our fault that you flew too fast and wasted fuel.

Or too high. Limit altitude to within RPG range.

Cue the America-bashing show trial.

Proudly brought to you by the MSM. And CNN.

Wasn’t it James Earl Jones that did the voice over for CNN, and I wonder if he regretted it later in life.

You said it.

Now why would the Venezualans be so fast and furious to blame our grubermint for supplying weapons to non Americans? That would be contra to our laws and past practices. And is not the current grubermint of Venezuela a template for what our grubermint wants to do here? After all, our zoos are overcrowded, we have feral cats everywhere, an excess of geese, and a shortage of toilet paper, but there’s no shortage of USDs that have lost their value. C’mon, man! Take another clot shot before the monkey pox gets you. Must be because the Venezualans are colluding with the Russians along with The Bad Orange Man to destroy our democracy…and start WWIII? Yeah…that’s it. It’s Trump fault!

Maduro, Herr biden and the secret police that arrest people at school board meeting are one of the same ilk.

The US has a policy not to assassinate foreign leaders. Of course if Maduro is not the duly elected leader, does that policy still apply. Just thinking out loud here. We could supply him with AK-47 ammo covertly. Leaving stock piles randomly in the country. Of course some rounds would contain C-4. And at least make the soldiers weary of Russian supplies. Old AA trick from VN.

Sounds like election deniers are afoot. Someone get Fanni Willis on the phone, Stat!

I did say this was a possibility in the other thread. It reeks of a 1950s style CIA conspiracy of dunces. If they were just free balling it out there than sucks to be them.

Maybe James Taylor can go there, with Sean Penn, and influence Maduro.

Love to see a video of Maduro taking a .50 to the chest area. His head might come off but his hair would still be perfect.
