Police are still taking tips from the public in their investigation.
Police in West Fargo have identified individuals involved in a weekend shooting at a local church that left one man dead.At 7:48am Saturday, officers responded to a report of an assault and shots fired in the parking lot of Prairie Heights Church on 32nd Avenue in West Fargo. When they arrived on the scene police were informed that an altercation between three people had taken place, and that the individuals were not known to each other.
25-year-old Austin Strom of Browerville, Minnesota was allegedly attempting to unlawfully enter the church when he was confronted by 66-year-old Kent Hodges of West Fargo. 53-year old Donald Barron II of Moorhead observed the confrontation and intervened.
A release from the West Fargo Police Department states that Strom became agitated and attacked Hodges. When Baron attempted to intervene, Strom allegedly advanced at Barron who fired a single shot with his personal handgun.

Self-storage units and ATMs always perk me up and not in a good way. Thanks again Gun Bunny.
I want results when I fight.

Ok, all you Dillweeds and -weedettes.
There’s a new story line opening on The Gentle Wolf pg 1290, panels 1-4. It will be dealing with one of our favorite subjects, “Stolen Valor”.

I gave fair warning to PeterCat (creator, writer, artist) about a’y’all, so behave yerselves. The spittoons are in the corner, and don’t tear up and shoot down the bar. Maybe we can convince PeterCat to come over here to read & comment once in awhile.
A follow up to Monday’s story.

The homeowner will not be charged (except maybe his choice of firearms/caliber).
This is where I have to part ways with Eric Cartman, I usually agree with him. 😀
One less choir member in West Fargo and a citizen needing range time in Van Wert. Never was a fan of storage facilities or ATMs meownself…’specially at 0God30 of a morning.
Best results of a fight is leaving the other guy DRT. And a nice little hide-a-way wheelgun is one way to do it.
So, KoB, which is better in your opinion?
A simple to use 5 shot wheelgun in 38Spl?
Or a more complex 7 shot 1911 clone in 380/9mm (example: yesterday’s gun offering) (doesn’t have to be Kimber)?
Despite my love of all things 1911, I personally feel that a nice wheelgun is very handy to have close by. They’re like a Timex…they can take a licking and still keep ticking. They will usually work no matter the situation/environment and I was told by a very learned Warrior Type many years ago that if one finds oneself in a situation where one needs more than five (5) rounds then one is in too deep. I got my daughter a “Lady Smith” that is her EDC. Usually recommend, and get for my Lady Friends, a Taurus in .38SP. Also tell them that you’re not wanting to get into a gunfight, you need just enough to keep the bad guy’s head down while you beat feet. Speed loaders are your friend.
Full disclosure…until that tragic boat accident, my EDC of late was a Kahr .40, back up mag in the OWB Holster, and two (2) more mags in a mag pouch. A cross draw keeps the Taurus .38SP covered up by the same slightly oversized shirts that now my “uniform of the day”. Back when a coat and tie was the “uniform of the day” a S&W Model 10 rode very comfortably in a shoulder rig, left side. I purposely dressed to “carry concealed” …every.where.I.go. Mr Kimber Model 1911 Custom LW usually rides between the seat and console for instant access with three (3) back up mags for him. He slept on the night stand less than a foot from my hand. The fone factory had a strict “no weapons allowed on company property/vehicles”. There may and/or may not have been a number of the techs with and/or without a “mouse in their pocket”. I admit nothing…call my lawer.
Damn a leaky boat…and damn an autoloader that decides not to work, just when you need it most.
Couldn’t agree more. My EDC is a Taurus Polyprotector .357. Very light, easy to carry and conceal. However… when MRS D and I are out exercising the Jeep along our secure border, There’s usually at least one 1911 on board, occasionally there’s two.
My EDC is a good old Smith & Wesson .38 “Snubbie”. 5 shots, light as a feather, and can be dropped into a pocket if you’re heading out the door to go for groceries.
I carry to stop a threat, not to get into a gunfight. My EDC is as pictured with a somewhat optimistic reload of another five .38+P Hornady Critical Defense rounds on a strip.
The load in the gun gets you through the fight. The reload gets you home.
I gotta admit, a’y’all singin’ sweet music to my ears.
I’ve never liked DAO revolvers, mind you the only one I’ve owned is an Enfield No.2 ‘ Tanker ‘ in .38S&W
I see them like I do an automatic transmission. It functions fine but it’s missing the user input that I like.
Browerville, MN. I used to drive through there back in the late 80s when I was a courier for a medical testing lab. Little 1/2 horse town of about 1,000 souls, and 2,000 cows.
Haha, ah heck, that actually holds a certain amount of appeal, depending on your age. I love being around cows. So settled and easy going. Two to One, bovines to people sounds pretty good.
Been carrying an Airweight .38 for more than 30 years. Carried her full-time in DC when it was not possible to get a permit. Even carried her into Massachusetts for an out of state wedding back in the 90s despite all the warnings from the bride and her kinfolk.
Mine was called a 442 back in those days, IIRC. She still sleeps with me but the main carry now is the Ruger LC9 with two spare mags.
