Tuesday short takes

I’ll let others debate Trump’s desire for blanket Presidential immunity – have to ask, though, if the President is shielded from culpability, why does the Constitution include impeachment?

Moving on – if convicted of a crime based on DNA evidence in Colorado, your lawyer should be smiling now.

A Colorado Bureau of Investigation DNA analyst intentionally manipulated data in the testing process for at least 15 years, according to an internal affairs investigation.

Yvonne “Missy” Woods, a now-former DNA scientist who worked at the CBI crime lab for 29 years, has been under investigation since September 2023, according to the bureau, known as CBI.

“At this time, 652 cases have been identified as affected by Woods’ data manipulation between 2008 and 2023,” the CBI said in a release. “A review of Woods’ work from 1994 to 2008 is also underway.”  NBC News

Seems a lawsuit filed by the Center for Immigration studies has discovered that the current administration, in addition to running the most porous border since the Maginot line fell, has flown almost a third of a million (mas o meno) illegals into the US:

The latest evidence of his administration’s secretive migration schemes reveals that they allowed  320,000 otherwise inadmissible migrants to fly into the country last year but won’t reveal where they landed.

Some 320,000 migrants were flown into 43 airports around the United States and were given parole, which grants them authorization to live and work in the country for at least two years. These are all migrants who have no lawful claim to live in the United States based upon the laws passed by our elected representatives. Humanitarian parole was created via the 1952 Immigration and Nationality Act, which permits the president to admit people “only on a case-by-case basis for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit.”  The Telegraph

I guess some would say “at this point, what does it matter.” And yes, I know that is a Russian IL-76. It just seemed appropriate.

And in Spokane, that bastion of conservatism (maybe a little sarc?) the school district has barred Border Patrol agents.

The school district in Spokane, Washington voted unanimously to ban U.S. Border Patrol agents from entering schools, saying that it could be traumatizing for immigrant students.

The board also approved new additions including, that staff will not “collaborate with immigration enforcement agencies or share information that could put a student’s security at risk.”Fox News

Any idea how many raids or deportations occurred via info found at schools?  I’m betting the number may approach zero nationwide. This does, however, make me want to propose a new law – if an entity bans public service personnel like CBP, cops, etc. they should be cut off from all services from such agencies. Ban the cops and the place burns down? Besides being personally liable –  ” You chose – poorly.”

Now for today’s shocker – San Francisco Mayor London Breed makes the news for what appears to be a rare bit of sanity:

But the focus of Breed’s excitement that evening centered on two ballot measures she had championed to broaden police surveillance powers and impose drug treatment mandates that were garnering overwhelming voter support — a stunning rightward shift for a city known nationally for its progressive politics.

The first measure, Proposition E, bolsters police powers in the city. The second, Proposition F, will require drug screening and treatment for people receiving county welfare benefits who are suspected of illicit drug use.

Wha…?

Breed faces a difficult reelection campaign in November as she seeks a second full term in office. Two of her opponents — Levi Strauss heir and nonprofit founder Daniel Lurie, and venture capitalist Mark Farrell, a former district supervisor and interim mayor — are considered moderates by San Francisco standards, and have blasted the mayor for the city’s street conditions and the lagging post-pandemic economic recovery.

I feel better. It’s not an epiphany or even common sense – it’s just raw opportunism. The world is OK after all.

San Francisco isn’t alone. Liberal mayors are having an election year love affair with the police. It will all die down again after the election. The problem of course is now the district attorneys because they’re not going to lock anybody up. They can give the police a trillion dollars and it won’t make a difference If they arrest everybody and just let them go.

George Soros approves.

This is an interesting video about EV cyber security. The video is about 8 minutes long and the security expert gives his personal home charger security measures in the final minute of the video.

Word.

I understood a law suit had been filed on the “reporter” and the paper both for the racial smear article. I am wondering if this wasn’t the best option to avoid paying.

Army-Air Force Guy

It apparently didn’t stop the Sandy Hook lawsuit against Remington even after they declared Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

rgr769

Corporations like Remington don’t file Chapter 7 Bk ‘s; they file Ch. 11’s. Remington reorganized and is moving out of Ilion, NY.

I’m wondering if he CAN’T get out of it. Maybe get future earnings attached?

Hack Stone

Don’t worry, someone with their qualifications would have no trouble finding a top-flight job in either the food service or housekeeping industries.

Green Thumb

Or at All-Points Logistics.

But to be fair, Phildo does not discriminate.

He steals from everyone.

Yvonne “Missy” Woods worked for 29 years at CBI, which I would think is long enough to secure a pension. It will be interesting to see if she gets to keep it. I’m sure the lawsuits from those affected.

Spokane, and other towns/cities that ban police/ICE/Border Patrol from their schools should have all funding cut as stated. Send in the social workers to quell any ne’re do well and whatever shit they are stirring. Make Uvalde proud of their record.

Will try to find, but I believe zero hedge had a break down of the new jobs created, and they were all filled by illegals, I mean, immigrants. Good job Joe, have another scoop of ice cream.

Roh-Dog

ZH is good for that kinda stuff. I heard Peter Schiff talking about that article on his Sunday live stream.
I think it was the same article from which he broke down the sectors that gained, something like 3/4 were government or government-adjacent.

But if you mention any of that data you’re a “conspiracy theorist” and should be executed in a DC gulag.

Odie

I shaped my “conspiracy theorist” tin foil hat into a fedora. Now I need a proper 2 seater British sports car to complete the look.

Anybody have a Sunbeam or TR6 they aren’t using? I have heard a 260 ford v8 will “fit” in a Sunbeam, so by extension, a 289 and 302 as well.

I better fabricate a chin strap to hold it on or just wear it backwards.

Odie

Opening credits of get smart had one. I know it was a Sunbeam, may have been a tiger, but Max drove one.

Hack Stone

No, the correct verbiage is “newcomers”. Keeping in line with Biden-Harris newspeak, the suspect in the murder of the Georgia nursing student will now be referred to as a “newcomer from Venezuela”.

Anonymous

Although “puto” would be more descriptive.

Odie

Puto requires less typing than newcomers.

SFC D

Unless they are in pursuit and an imminent threat exists, there is absolutely no reason why CBP would ever enter a school or schoolyard. Even then, CBP would be used for containment while local law enforcement took over. CBP doesn’t do raids, that’s not their job. Any “raid” conducted to apprehend illegals would fall under the authority of ICE, which is a separate entity.

5JC

Tell that to the folks in Uvalde. That moron that was the SRO School Chief had a well-trained tactical team and squandered it because he was an idiot.

SFC D

The Uvalde police chief failed. Everything stops with him.

5JC

Exactly. Without the Border Patrol the shooter would probably still be barricaded in the room.

Odie

Neither of whom is doing their jobs.

KoB

Good thing these are short. Don’t know how much more I can take.

Without some form of immunity, every president could be lawfared into oblivion by civil suits and criminal prosecutions by his political opponents as soon as he was out of office. Exhibit A is President Trump. We would truly become the large equivalent of a banana republic.

Odie

Still a few live presidents are watching this issue intently I’m sure, yet I bet they don’t think it applies to them.

USMC Steve

As leftarded as that city is, they could not go much further to the left. Anything not to the left would be earthshaking and noteworthy.
