PhD student suggests liquidating President Trump and “a whole class of people”
When people with advanced degrees lack smarts… Nicholas Decker, an economics PhD student at George Mason University, went on a social media political rant. Decker claimed that the source of political power will always be violence. Decker said that if things continue with the Trump administration’s actions, the “problem” would be solved with blood and iron. His chosen target went beyond President Trump and towards “a whole class of people.”

Diving into his post on Substack, Decker argues that “evil has come to America,” and it came in the form of Trump and his supporters. He says that Trump is ignoring the orders of the court system and “deprived us, in many cases, of trial by jury; it has subjected us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and has transported us beyond seas to be imprisoned for pretended offenses.”
But Decker is tired of just voicing his outrage, he wants to take action! He suggests he and his like-minded TDS sufferers start killing people:
If the present administration chooses this course, then the questions of the day can be settled not with legislation, but with blood and iron. In short, we must decide when we must kill them. None of us wish for war, but if the present administration wishes to destroy the nation I would accept war rather than see it perish. I hope that you would choose the same.
He continues by saying killing Trump wouldn’t be enough, a lot of people are going to have to die.
“For let us make no mistake; the problem is not one man, but a whole class of people. If one head is cut off, another would take its place,” wrote Decker.
I want to be clear that I’m not altering the quotes in any way. He really is writing like this.
Decker encourages people to keep protesting, not because it’s effectual (it’s not) but because it allows people to coordinate and make connections. Moreover, he says that a timeframe needs to be created, because action must be taken at some point in order to stop America from falling into the hands of a dictator:
And when is that time? Your threshold may differ from mine, but you must have one. If the present administration should cancel elections; if it should engage in fraud in the electoral process; if it should suppress the speech of its opponents, and jail its political adversaries; if it ignores the will of Congress; if it should directly spurn the orders of the court; all these are reasons for revolution. It may be best to stave off, and wait for elections to throw out this scourge; but if it should threaten the ability to remove it, we shall have no choice. We will have to do the right thing. We will have to prepare ourselves to die. I hope that we should conduct ourselves with such courage that it will be our finest hour; I expect that we shall do our duty.

Have no idea how brutal and barbaric it will be for them.
This is nothing new. Marxists always talk about slaughtering millions when they take power.
Sometimes they succeed. Then that country is lost to darkness for decades.
Any pure civil war, that is sourced only locally, will be very short for the Marxists. But China will be happy to send them everything they need and then put them at the front of the plow team when they come ashore.

If I was going to put a face next to the terms “insurrectionist” or “violent extremist”, it would be his. I have to wonder just how willing he is to shoulder his weapon and lead the charge. He considers himself elite, leaving the fighting to lesser beings. I don’t think he fully understands exactly what he’s saying, but if he means to have a fight, his side is woefully unprepared.

So before I started having children and all that that entails, I went back to school to a local university to finish my degree. It was, somewhat to my dismay, a *disconcertingly* left-wing school, but it was near enough to the farm to make it doable and offered a program I really wanted. I opted to graduate before my ability to keep my opinions to myself ran out.
Even back then it was horribly closeminded, shamefully antisemitic and generally exclusive to anyone who didn’t appear to meet the brief of all the things they swore were virtues. I encountered more people who could not write a basic sentence, think critically or research their way out of a paper bag than you care to mention, and it still gives me a hot glow of second-hand embarrassment.
Since then, of course, it has only gotten worse – much worse. Back then I kept quiet about who I was because I was primarily concerned about not getting the magic piece of paper, although I was always aware of the latent possibility of violence. Now my fear would be violence aimed at me personally for what they would choose to label me as (ironic, for people who claim to be the ones who embrace all!).
Their credo is ‘nobody should be persecuted for who they are or what they believe – except the people we don’t like’.
Coexist, eh? Yeah, not so much it turns out.

I first heard that spiffy little phrase in the 1970s. I have seen nothing in the ensuing half century that makes it untrue.
