A driver in Washington, D.C., fought off a would-be carjacker who jumped inside the car and threatened them with a knife over the weekend, authorities said, as carjackings in the city so far this year keep up with last year’s record-shattering numbers. The female suspect tried to carjack the driver around 10 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Kennedy Street Northwest as the victim was sitting in the running car, the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department said.
The unidentified suspect entered the vehicle and pulled a knife on the driver before demanding that the victim leave the vehicle, according to police.
The victim fought back to stop the woman from stealing the car, police said.
The victim suffered a minor injury while the suspect fled the scene.

Absolutely appalling in our crime-ridden Nation’s Capitol this woman could not acquire an illegal firearm and was forced to resort to a knife.

Another sad tale of unrequited love.
Caution.
Gun Bunny and Old Tanker, of course.
People feel like the system is rigged against them, and here is the painful part, they’re right. The system is rigged.

What I want to know, it being DC, District of Criminals, why the driver was parked with his doors unlocked/windows down, such that the ‘jacker was able to easily enter the car?
But good on the driver for fighting back, instead of just “rolling over”.
perhaps he/she was trolling for game(s)
That Bond Arms rifle does look interesting. Need to wait for a range review.
Definitely not a first choice as a CQB/self-defense weapon. Maybe for predator hunting.
Naw, ‘Rod. Per the article “…out to play a space cowboy…”. Marvin will wait for the .450 version so he can have an Earth Shattering KA-BOOOM!
DC woman was just needing a ride to choir practice. Only had the knife in order to cut up the Communion Wafers.
“She’s not into you any more, doofus…but her boollitt is.” Be of good cheer, you’ll become the girlfriend at the Gray Bar Hotel.
Nutjob has taken his last train ride.
Liz, fine job on rigging the system…in your favor…you lying, self centered, despotic skrunt.
I reserve lever actions for big rounds.
Like my .444 Marlin Moose gun. Two kills so far.
The action just seems to be heavy but smooth.
Like a bolt action that also requires some amount of
physical effort thus giving the shooter confidence in
cycling the weapon.
Cha chunk..boom, cha chunk..boom…..

Got the same warning when I got my Coast Guard Unit Commendation.
I’m sure glad they did, or I might have swallowed that little piece of chest candy.
