Joe Biden believes that history books would positively see his Afghanistan withdrawal decision

| February 16, 2024

According to a book written by Alexander Ward of Politico, Joe Biden believed that he made the right calls regarding the Afghanistan withdrawal. Mistakes of this nature that get negative attention increase the risk that those responsible for the scrutinized actions would submit a letter of resignation. None arrived related to the botched withdrawal. Biden also believes that that history books would favorably look on his Afghanistan withdrawal related decisions.

From Fox News:

An excerpt from “The Internationalists: The Fight to Restore Foreign Policy After Trump,” obtained by Axios, suggests that Biden remains defiant that the history books will look favorably on his decision to leave Afghanistan after American troops spent 20 years fighting the nation’s longest war.

Following the withdrawal, “no one offered to resign, in large part because the president didn’t believe anyone had made a mistake. Ending the war was always going to be messy,” author Alexander Ward writes.

Biden allegedly told his top aides, including National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, that they had done their best given the situation and vowed to stand by them.

“There wasn’t even a real possibility of a shake-up,” a White House official told Ward.

The author claims that Biden knew he was making promises to get people out of Afghanistan that he could not keep as confusion and chaos unfolded at the Kabul airport.

When Biden told ABC News on August 18, 2021, that he would keep troops on the ground until every U.S. citizen had an opportunity to leave, a White House official privately said to Ward, “There’s no one here who thinks we can meet that promise.”

Fox News, Axios, and Amazon have additional information on this story.

In Joe Biden’s defense, when he said “There’s going to be no circumstance for you to see people being lifted off the roof of an embassy of the United States from Afghanistan”, he assumed that the mainstream media would continue the blackout of any evidence of incompetence or malfeasance from the Biden-Harris Administration.

timactual

Biden was right–the Taliban is NOT the NVA; and the Afghan National Army was not the ARVN, either. The ARVN lasted longer than 90 days after we left, against a REAL army and with less support than the Afghans had.

Sorry, Mark, you walked right into this one:

Fuck Joe Biden.

That is all.

Hack Stone

You forget to say “over”, over.

26Limabeans

The correct proword would be “out”.

Odie

Roger, roger.

rgr769

No need for “roger” if you end with either “over” or “out.” Roger is implied. Anyway, that is the RTO procedure I was taught.

26Limabeans

The correct proword would be “nothing further”.
“that is all” is some kinda Navy shit.

Daniel Bernath would end every transmission with “Oh, shit!!! Over.”

“… The Fight to Restore Foreign Policy After Trump,”

Walp, it weren’t much of a fight to DESTROY foreign policy after Trump. I mean, after all, Trump did get us more involved in wars all over the world and then he basically started WWIII, so there is that. Probably a good thing that The Bad Orange Man wasn’t (s)elected for another term. By now, we’d be seeing war in Eastern Europe, war in the Mid East, saber rattlings from the Norks, and may even have multiple carrier groups heading toward China. So good that we have the wealth of experience with a strong (p)Resident like joe at the helm. Someone that has always spoken the truth and stood up for the American People. Even better that joe has surrounded himself with such a stunning and brave staff.

The History will be followed just as the science has been.

Orange Man almost achieving Mideast peace was “racist” and had to be thwarted– better to have Democrat chaos than Republican progress of any kind, comrade!

George

How did President Trump basically start WWIII?

Don’t count on it, resident!

We are well and truly fucked!

Don’t worry PINO Joe. You will be largely forgotten. A footnote. A joke (not a joke, folks). The only reason anyone gives a shit about the bumbling idiot is because he is a resident of the White House. He’ll get grouped w/ the likes of James Buchanan, Andrew Johnson, Franklin Pierce, Zachary Taylor, Warren Harding, Etc. Hardly ever mentioned even by historians.

Thanks to Joe Biden, and B. Hussein 0bama, Jimmeh Kahtuh will now be remembered as the THIRD worst POTUS in my lifetime.

Hack Stone

Hack begs to differ. Then damage that the people controlling Joe Biden inflicted upon America and the world will take at least three election cycles, if not more, to bring things back to a semblance of normalcy. You can pick any category and Biden and/or Harris have failed us miserably. Economy, energy, military readiness, crime, immigration, foreign relations, drug overdoses, infrastructure have all plummeted. This administration will literally be a textbook example of what not to do when you get into office.

You left out the complete collapse of any faith in government, not that there was any left.

Green Thumb

Jimmy Carter is having a shot!

5JC

I don’t think so. The only president in my lifetime that was worse than Carter was Johnson. But it is a real horse race. As bad as Obama was Biden is definitely worse. So in a four-way race between Johnson, Carter, Obama and Biden, FJB, is almost a year still to go. So he could still snatch the WPOAT crown. The way the man falls off of bicycle and talks to dead world leaders it’s possible.

No longer our worst president– Obama saw to that.

“Following the withdrawal, “no one offered to resign,…”

Oh, there should have been some resignations, and maybe even a few courts-martial—among the military who screwed up what should have been a rather simple task. The same task, in fact, Trump had ordered them to do a year earlier.

Hate_me

Those resignations should have come when Brandon gave the order – not after it was carried out. Hindsight being 20/20, however; there should have been more than a few, afterwards. If not in disgrace, at least out of revulsion.

The task coordinated by the Trump administration was fundamentally different.

Odie

History will prove biden is just as big of an idiot as 81 million “voters”.

Hate_me

“History has….”

Your tense was off.

rgr769

There may have been a count of 81 million votes, but I seriously doubt there were 81 million voters who each only cast one vote each and were live, registered voters who were citizens authorized to vote. Watch “2000 Mules” and see if you still believe there were 81 million legit Biden voters.

Odie

I too doubt there were 81 million legit voters for Biden. All this shit could have been put to rest months ago if dems had said, OK, let’s count again. They wanted no part of that. They want no part in cleaning the voter logs to see who is still alive, who actually live at the address listed and it’s not a weed strewn vacant lot or a local mental institution.

Yeah, if they allowed that to happen, the whole house of cards comes crashing down.

A Proud Infidel®™

JUST LIKE how the Michigan recount was suddenly halted and swept under the proverbial rug as soon as they found very flagrant discrepancies in Detroit, someplace that has long been lorded over by D-rats!

5JC

Still trying to figure out the voting machine destruction. Why would they destroy thousands of almost new voting machines right after the election? Not quite able to follow the logic there.

Remember the plan President Biden executed was devised by Gen Milley under Trump but Trump decided to delay its execution until after the election.
Whether you like the President or not, this would have happened under Trump as well because it was planned by the same General staff which believed the DOS rosy assessment of Afghan competence instead of the CIA’s more realistic evaluation.
