NPRC Records Request Status
Pandemic-Related Backlog of 600,000 Veterans Records Requests Finally Cleared
Military.com | By Rebecca Kheel
A backlog of hundreds of thousands of requests for veterans records from the National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis that was caused by limiting in-person work during the COVID-19 pandemic has finally been cleared, the National Archives announced this week.
“Clearing the backlog of record requests at the National Personnel Records Center has been my top priority, and I am proud that we’ve gotten this done,” Archivist of the United States Colleen Shogan said in a statement Wednesday. “I want to recognize the hard work and dedication of the National Archives staff. They have worked overtime and across weekends and holidays to achieve this goal and ensure we meet our obligation to those who’ve served.”
While the National Personnel Records Center, or NPRC, never fully closed down during the pandemic so that it could respond to emergency requests such as for records needed for medical care, it significantly curtailed operations because of building occupancy limits.
The staffing reductions led to a backlog that grew to more than 600,000 requests, making life difficult for veterans who needed hard copies of their records for disability claims, proof of veteran status for other benefits, documentation in lawsuits, personal archives and other uses.
This welcome news came as a revelation to our folks behind the curtain. Seems there are some 200 of our requests still outstanding. Thanks to one of our Usual Suspects for the link.

I imagine Phil Monbkress and his new batch of Phildo Supporters at All-Points Logistics are starting to sweat a bit.
Did Phil Monkress ever fill that open Req for a Fall Guy in their Reston Virginia?
Most of them left back in the day.
If you remember, his daughters were taking the calls. Lori Benton would take a call.
Wife divorced him and cleaned him out (I hope).
“…200 of our requests still outstanding.” Maybe that news will calm down MD61. I never thought, or saw evidence that the political affiliation of ANY Military Phony played into who was investigated/outed, or chastised on these pages. The very thorough research done by the “ones behind the curtain” have been a feature, not a bug, of this site since the very beginning. And I’m sure that the FOIA requests sent in by TAH/VG/MP were a low priority for the NPRC. If the backlog has been well and truly fixed, then maybe, just maybe, we can see the requests come in and the postings of a slew of dirtbags that have been standing on the bodies and in the blood of true Heroes, making their fake claims.
KoB,
I’ll believe it when I see it…..
You know, when most of the 200 MP/VG FOIA requests
are back with results at VG.
After all, IF the backlog is anywhere near cleared,
why are there still 200 outstanding,
from only 1 requestor?
How many tens of thousands of others out there,
widows, children, grandchildren, etc…
who are still waiting and waiting?
Sounds like a big steaming pile of NPRC manure,
unless VG has backlog FOIA results rolling in as I type this.
——————–
BTW…. VG already has the Teddy FOIA.
And so do I, on my own.
2 FOIA sets out there.
Plus this, a 2022 US Army Spokesman FOIA email.
Easy to count medals, call out 5 unearned,
then watch a medals phony lie, deny, counter attack,
and then 3 months later,
put up some really really awful looking medals certificates.
IF the pre COVID FOIA results turnover time was 14-45 days,
then MANY of the 200 outstanding should be in VG hands
by April Fools’ Day.
Also… 5 lower level medals called out (December 2022)
may be no big deal to a lot of folks.
I get it.
But by May 2023, when both VG and I had our FOIA sets,
and both proved IMPOSSIBLE his long history of telling
Phony Rambo war tales, on the campaign trail,
FaceBook live, 11 months of Rumble podcasts, etc…
(videos out there everywhere)….
He’s either stealing combat credit
from other squads or platoons from his unit,
or making it all up.
That’s not much different
from BBQ sauce “last man out alive” guy from Iowa.

All you have to do is watch his video of combat to see he is trying to imitate John Fraud sKerry aka “Lurch.” Who does GoPro video in a firefight? Did he deliberately expose himself to enemy fire? He is in the same four months of service in a combat zone as Lurch.
rgr769,
Bingo.
There’s a whole backstory, STILL on news websites, about GoPro YouTube Teddy.
In a nutshell…
Back at CONUS Fort Carson, Colorado on med, while his unit was STILL in Afghanistan,
Teddy put his GoPro Teddy PH CIB day video up on his personal YouTube channel.
Obviously, he edited out before and after,
to make the best possible video out of his Go Pro Rambo vid that BACKFIRED.
His unit chain of command immediately ordered him to take it down, which he did.
However, the time it was up, a CANADIAN downloaded the MP4, changed the title, and put it up on his own Canadian YouTube Channel,
and it went VIRAL.
THIS video.
He was in deep shit in Colorado,
because neither Teddy nor the Army could take down this video,
which shows unit location to the enemy.
Months later, he was ID’d publicly,
and then had 15 minutes of fame with Washington Post, CNN, and other media.
Of course, the heroic Phony Rambo tales he tells ever since 2020, are that he was saving his squad from being trapped behind rocks due to an incompetent LT, that he drew fire away from them, and worse…….
that “after the battery died” on the GoPro,
he then marched down that mountainside into a village, and greased a few enemy…
“I killed a bunch of terrorists”.
—–
It doesn’t take a genius to see,
he could no longer walk,
and his squad had to rescue him.
—–
Directly contradicts other BS claims
that he was “shot 4 times”,
and “almost lost a leg in Afghanistan”.
The unending bullshit is so deep,
and much of it contradicts other bullshit,
and contradicts obvious evidence in this video.
He went back the US on medevac months later,
NOT for bullet or shrap injuries,
but for his foot and ankle, that never fully healed.

Enjoy “lay down some (bleeped fucking) fire”,
a line that appears to be scripted from movies.
Nod to Hack Stone,
for bringing up “Alaska Bob” Glaves on WOT.
Which got me thinking…
Which takes longer now….
NPRC ponying up FOIA request results?
Or….
Alaska Bob ponying up his DD-214?

I can hear it now:
“My records were lost in the pandemic”
By “cleared” what they meant was “deleted forever”. Feel free to submit a new request with a suspense date of 3 OCT 32
Anniversary of the Battle of Mogadishu?
Fittingly fitting for phonies to be foisted upon fauchard of their own fakerys’ making on such a famous day.
Let the great times roll!!! (i.e. NPRC needs to do a way better job!)
So, there is still a backlog. And the regime is again lying to the public.
They claimed victory, and we are still without close to 200 FOIA requests we submitted since the COVID restrictions. It’s like that line in “Wag the Dog” – it doesn’t matter; it was in the news.
I’m thinking I should write to the NPRC and say I saw this article, ask about the hundreds of FOIAs still outstanding, then ask if I should just resubmit them all. Will take me about a day or two to submit them since they are all in digital form. I have not done that to date because I didn’t want to be a PITA and they shove my requests on the bottom of the pile, but now that they have claimed victory it is a new ballgame.
Might wanna go ‘head’n just do that before Ghoul Gang drops Disease X®.
OK, here is what is happening. I went through the requests that I sent in to NPRC since COVID stopped things at NPRC. You can check the status online with the Service Request Number.
They are all now marked “SENT” which means they acted upon the request and mailed out the records. Well, I never got them. It seems like they went through and just indiscriminately marked them as “SENT” probably in an effort to get rid of the backlog.
No mistake about this on my part. I keep METICULOUS records. I mark each one when I get the results back.
Boy, do I feel both cheated and bamboozled over this debacle. Not sure what I can do other than resubmit hundreds of requests. I feel that I need to tell them first, however. Shaking my head.
Now, now, now, PTBH…if they said they sent them out, then you KNOW (wink nudge) that they were, in fact, sent out. We all know that NO grubermint agency would ever lie to a Citizen, and those hard working Civil Servants are doing the best they can with what they have to work with. Now, just because all of your requests are stuck in that Texas USPS Distribution Center with all of the other undelivered mail, is in no way the fault of the NPRC. NPRC did their part. C’mon, Man!
Maybe we need to light a fire under NPRC? Oh…wait…
Did they clear it by filling the requests or by shit canning them?
I think your second choice is spot on. Whew, that was a LOT of work. Only to be duped in the end. Oh well, I still have them – I guess I’ll change the date and resubmit. What else can I do?
Just goes to show you that if you ignore a problem, it will go away.
The one upside is I have gotten two back from their submissions in Dec. Non-actionable, but I got them back.
