Every Republican attorney general in the US rebut efforts to shut down ammunition manufacturer
Every Republican attorney general in the United States joined in a letter to the White House. They asked Team Biden to stop their Democratic counterparts’ push to shut down the largest ammunition manufacturing plant in the country. One argument that the Democrats advanced was that this plant produces military grade ammunition. However, the Republican side argued that the ammunition produced is not what the military uses.

But the Republicans say the Democrats’ letter contained a “litany of errors.” “Perhaps those States should focus more on prosecuting crime to stop mass shootings–rather than trying to stop lawful Americans’ use of guns and ammunition. Their tactic is an overt attempt to punish Americans’ exercise of their Second Amendment rights,” they wrote.
Among the list of “errors” the GOP AGs point out that their Democrat colleages allege that ammunition manufactured for “military use” does not belong in communities.
“First, the ammunition manufactured at Lake City and sold into the commercial market is not the primary rifle cartridge used by the United States military. The primary cartridge is proprietary to the Army and may not be sold commercially,” the AGs note.
“Second, while the United States military purchases and uses a particular type of ammunition, that is not determinative as to whether it is “military ammunition” that should be banned for public use,” they write.
“If the United States military using ammunition precluded that ammunition’s use by civilians, then other widely and commonly available ammunition, including 9mm and 12-gauge shotshells, would also be prohibited for public use,” they argued, adding that Supreme Court precedent “does not support such an openly artificial distinction.”
According to the state’s top prosecutors, Lake City only sells ammunition to commercial customers that is legal to manufacture, and it complies with all the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ (ATF) requirements.

The second amendment is about ensuring a free state. Now we all know that FJB has threatened to nuke us on several occasions and drop bombs on us with F15s. If for no other reason, that is a good enough one to make sure that we have that access. He might get a bunch of us with a nuke
or a 500 lb bomb but he won’t get everybody…. That should be reason enough to give him pause.

Also, this country was founded by astute scholars, keen of history’s ills, who smuggled and counterfeited when a King, beholden to no one but himself, gave them no choice but to act unlawfully.
As a swamp yankee in the Nutmeg State I have to say this timeline is getting fun as I get to walk in the footsteps of those gentlemen.

I am more leery of a person armed with that most deadliest cartridge than I am of those armed with all of the rest, combined.

The dems goal with firearms and ammunition is not safety, other than theirs, given they want to control the population. This is and has always been about controlling the serfs, peasants, and deplorables to the benefit of the proper “ruling class” dems.
