Most Ethical Congress in History at it Again
Elections have consequences and when you elect enough criminals, this is precisely how they will behave.
Faced with a promised vote to subpoena documents on Countrywide Financial’s “Friends of Angelo” program, Democrats on the House Oversight Committee fled a scheduled 2 p.m. markup today.
Rep. Darrell Issa of California, the Ranking Republican on the Oversight Committee, had promised to call for a vote at today’s markup on whether to subpoena documents involved in the program that gave sweetheart mortgages to at least four Democratic government officials, including two senators. According to the Wall Street Journal, the program might have also benefitted the chairman of House Oversight, Rep. Edolphus Towns, D-N.Y.
Even if it had been ruled out of Order, Issa’s motion would have received a vote.
The committee’s Democrats simply failed to appear. Republican staffers say they caught them on tape leaving by a back door at 2:35.
There are 24 Democrats on the committee that are overtly protecting criminal behavior and obstructing a member of Congress from demanding the documents that would obviously prove it.
The bottom line is that 24 members of Congress have conspired to thwart the investigation of a crime involving members of their own caucus. This action was taken solely to prevent a legal action by a Congressional committee to obtain evidence of a possible crime.
This ain’t just wrong, it’s frigging illegal!
TITLE 18 > PART I > CHAPTER 19 > § 372
If two or more persons in any State, Territory, Possession, or District conspire to prevent, by force, intimidation, or threat, any person from accepting or holding any office, trust, or place of confidence under the United States, or from discharging any duties thereof, or to induce by like means any officer of the United States to leave the place, where his duties as an officer are required to be performed, or to injure him in his person or property on account of his lawful discharge of the duties of his office, or while engaged in the lawful discharge thereof, or to injure his property so as to molest, interrupt, hinder, or impede him in the discharge of his official duties, each of such persons shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six years, or both.
The Chicago way my friends. Don’t let it be said that the folks weren’t warned because they were.

This is what the Latte sippin’, mall shoppin’, Kool-ade drinkin’ Liberals wanted? As for the politicians- “What good is power if you can’t abuse it.”
Government of, by, and for the People. Means nothing today, while it used to be the whole deal.
GOD save the USA.
“Learned all I need to know about Islam on 9/11!”
I would personally like to see a celebrity deathmatch style fight between Rep. Issa (my own congressman) and any House Dem. Providing “they” don’t rig it, it would turn out pretty good…
Criminal democrat congress critters protecting criminal democrats. I’m shocked, totally shocked. There is not one democrat in congress I’d trade nickels with. They would scrape the buffalo off the back and swear on the bible and they mothers grave it was minted that way.
How long do we watch as they destroy the Republic?
Illegal, schmillegal; who has the power?
I’m tempted to thing of BHO, Pelosi and Reid as the Evil Triangle.
COB: The latest in this saga is that Towns had the locks changed on the committee room, so republicans couldn’t get in.
I guess cockroaches don’t like having the light shined on them after all?
One more note, well actually it’s a question: When did our US Capitol become the Reichstag??

“If the American people knew what happened in Congress every day, half of us would be hung from the light poles on Pennsylvania Avenue and the other half would be in prison.”
–Sen. Robert Byrd
I would save that quote but I don’t want to be on any more government watch lists than I already am.
