Pakistan alleges that US equipment left behind in Afghanistan is showing up elsewhere in nefarious hands.

Pakistan’s caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said terror groups in the country are now using American equipment, including night vision goggles and firearms, in their operations. One group, known as the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), has increased attacks on government forces in recent months.

The U.S. abandoned approximately $7 billion worth of military equipment in Afghanistan following President Biden’s withdrawal from the country in 2021.

Just under three-quarters of the 427,300 weapons provided to the Afghan forces were left behind along with less than 1,537,000 “specialty munitions” and small arms ammo.

Pakistani officials said the TTP has boasted of possessing weapons with laser and thermal targeting systems and that the TTP have begun engaging security forces at longer ranges than they were previously capable of.

I’m gonna ignore that dangling preposition, just like Biden ignores the irony of legal citizens getting banned from buying faux assault weapons while he provided real ones gratis to real terrorists.

Continuing the Biden hit parade, the Biden administration has reversed a Trump decision to allow transport of liquid natural gas (LNG) on trains.

In a federal filing Friday ahead of the holiday weekend, the Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) formally suspended the 2020 authorization of LNG transportation in rail tank cars. The rule will remain in effect until either a permanent rule regarding LNG rail tank car transportation is proposed and finalized — a process that may take several months — or June 30, 2025.

Sure a good way to demand electrification – make it harder to transport the stuff many electric power plants actually run on.

If only there were some other way to transport it….maybe in long tubes – we could call them “pipelines”!  Oh, wait…

And we’ll get off the organized crime administration, and move on to other organized crime. Remember “Cop City”? The police training center near Atlanta at which all those soulful human-rights activists motivated by purity, altruism, and a prayerful stance against the dreadful Po-po have been living in trees, vandalizing the work, and otherwise expressing their Purity of Bodily Essence? Seems after a bit of investigation the Georgia folks disagree a bit:

Sixty-one people have been indicted in Georgia on racketeering charges following a long-running state investigation into protests against a planned police and firefighter training facility in the Atlanta area that critics call “Cop City.”

Among the defendants: more than three dozen people already facing domestic terrorism charges in connection to violent protests; three leaders of a bail fund previously accused of money laundering; and three activists previously charged with felony intimidation after authorities said they distributed flyers calling a state trooper a “murderer” for his involvement in the fatal shooting of a protester.

In addition to the 61 racketeering indictments, five of the defendants were also indicted on domestic terrorism and first-degree arson charges. Three previously charged leaders of the Atlanta Solidarity Fund, which has provided bail money and helped find attorneys for arrested protesters, were also each indicted on 15 counts of money laundering.

AP

I’m not holding my breath for the success of the indictments…after all, they and the state’s Attorney General are on opposite sides of the political fence.  But the protesters have had more or less free rein there for almost two years…’bout time someone asked for accountability for vandalism, arson, throwing Molotov cocktails etc.

Irony is a concept beyond the grasp of Xiden’s feeble “mind.”

This is bullshit. Biden assured us before the withdrawal that it wasn’t possible for the Taliban to take over because the government was too well armed, equipped and trained to be defeated by the Taliban. Therefore, pictures or it never happened.

If the Q&A there doesn’t get you angry, you ain’t American.

They say it, the media keeps people blind to what is happening in the world, therefore it doesn’t happen.

FJB administration ensuring a level playing field should we have to go back by arming those we were fighting with a lot of our own advanced military gear.

So much for owning the night.

The good news is that most of them simply won’t do PM, as it is impious. (It will work if he wills it. )

So most of our requires-maintenence toys are soon rendered junk.

George

Since Pakistan created the Taliban and provided weapons to the Taliban and the HIG to kill Americans, maybe those weapons were left behind in Afghanistan to supply the Taliban and TTP for some unattributable payback against Pakistan.

Simple incompetence is more likely than complex malice.

Brandon is incompetent and simple.

George

The effects on Pakistan are still well deserved.

As for the LP on trains, didn’t someone here suggest something about the gift to Warren Buffett shutting down the pipelines would create? This also answers why there is little to no media coverage and no WH response to East Palestine … beyond Norfolk Southern is handing it oh so well.

Odie

I would imagine any democrats left in East Palestine OH are no longer democrats. At least the smart ones anyway.

I sure hope not!

I believe that was KoB, but I would have if he hadn’t.

I’m a big fan of LNGs as a trader/investor/person living in a northern climate and eater of hotdogs… but moving the stuff on trains is idiotic.

In addition to the loading, shipping, unloading risks the amount of system lag and money wasted is staggering.

My petty greed aside, efficiency is preferred, especially when safety is a byproduct of that efficiency.

But good ol’ Pipeline Killin’ Joe could give two shits. He’s got favors to repay!
