August! The beginning of the Dog Days!
Not the coolest time of the year, temperature-wise. In fact, in most places where you read this silliness, August is the hottest month of the year.
If you’re working in air conditioning repair or an electric utility, that’s your busiest time. And your most lucrative.
My most lucrative time, you ask? If you find out, let me know. Most of the time, it’s pretty much the same year-round. Small, but pretty much the same. Oh, well. Have some trivia.
Did you know …
… turnpikes are called that for a reason? Back in the days of yore, toll collectors on roads were armed with long-handled weapons called pikes which were used to prevent travelers from using the road without paying the proper tariff. The name for the toll collector was the turnpike, which later became the name for the road itself.
… you may know a pullicologist? If you do, you know a flea expert. (What does a flea flee from? Pullicologists, of course.)
… dreaming about chocolate may mean something? According to researchers, chocolate in a dream could mean that the dreamer feels the need to be rewarded for something, or deserves special treatment. It could also mean that the person having the dream has been indulging in too many excesses, and needs to practice restraint. (I dream about food a lot, but not so much chocolate. I guess I’m not in need of rewards?)

… Jurassic Park is probably not possible? Scientists say that DNA has a “half-life” of 521 years, meaning that the oldest possible samples from which an animal could be cloned would be about 2 million years old. Since the last of the dinosaurs died out about 65 million years ago, that pretty much rules out any return of the species through human scientific intervention. A “half-life” is the amount of time that it takes for half of a sample of a substance to deteriorate. In this example, half of the sample would deteriorate in 521 years, half of the remaining part in another 521 years, half of what’s left in another 521 years, and so on, until it’s all gone. (Movies are your best entertainment, in any event.)

I voted for him in 2016 AND 2020, and went to 3 rallies, getting in to 2.
But I will NOT be voting for him in the 2024 primary.
IMHO – I believe there is zero chance he can carry November 2024,
where someone else in the GOP,
almost anyone else in the current GOP stack, can beat whoever the Dems put up in 2024.
You still think this is about Trump. Expand your view. It’s about politically weaponized government agencies, the DOJ and FBI in particular. The IRS under Obama targeted conservative organizations. Trump is the target now. And by the way, you get that classified document count yet?

37. He’s charged with possession of 37. Each and every document produced by the government has some sort of classification. “Unclassified” is a classification. 37, out of the troves of “classified documents”’, nearly all of that trove carried no more critical information than the daily White House press briefing. I’m not sure how many classified documents are in a trove, but 37 seems a wee bit small. And returning a classified document that you hold illegally is not a pardon. Why no prosecution for Pence? For Biden? Hillary removed classification markings and faxed documents to Houma’s maid. No prosecution. So tell me, why only Trump? Again, I’m not defending him. If he’s guilty, so be it. I’m against selective prosecution for political purposes. Why aren’t you?

I watched a few minutes awhile back, shortly after it came out, and a week later read the articles that debunked a majority if it.
Especially the Pennsylvania / Philadelphia portion, where minor shenanigans have gone on for over 100 years, and anything coming out of Philly or PA amounted to nothing more than the typical few votes and minor shenanigans.

It’s a 50/50 state, for decades, and PA now looks like one of the worst states for picking lunkheads.
Then again, the part some here don’t want to see or believe… is that Trump endorsements and rallies swung the GOP primary, from a businessman, to celebrity Dr. Oz, who got trounced by an incompetent Lt. Governor (Fetterman).
And for Governor, also endorsed by Trump, Mastriano did worse than Oz.
