TicToc Warrior- International Stolen Valor

| June 21, 2023

A valor thief in China uses social media and AI to cast his net. Same old scam taking advantage of new capabilities, which should surprise no one.

A TikToker told his 400,000 fans he was a Russian special forces warrior fighting US marines in Ukraine, but he turned out to be a Chinese grifter selling vodka online

Matthew Loh

A man who claimed on Chinese TikTok that he was a Russian special forces operative was suspended from the platform on Saturday after it was revealed that he was a man in the Henan province trying to sell products online.

The content creator, who called himself Baoer Kechatie, had around 400,000 followers on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, before the social media company cracked down on his grift.

“Some accounts have been posting videos, claiming to be from Russia and soldiers at war. In that time, they spread false information such as ‘battlefield videos’ and ‘battlefield movements’ to attract attention and gain traffic,” Douyin wrote in a statement on Saturday.

The TikToker would make wild claims in his videos, saying he was a Chechnyan soldier deployed on the front line in Ukraine and that he even defeated US Marines and secured an M1911 pistol from one of them.

Not sure how China views its citizens impersonating Chechen soldiers for profit, but at least his accounts were deleted.

“I arrived and went ‘psh psh psh psh,'” he said in one video describing the imaginary confrontation, making a smacking motion with his hand.”

Plus the Byrd Expedition and Dewey medal or is that what Alaska Bob wears

World War I or II Victory Medal is what I usually find entertaining in recent decades.

I’ll still bet that there is a potential dependopottomus out there ready to share their life savings

I remember standing quarterdeck watch with an M1911 back in the 20th Century. That shifted to the M9 in the 21st Century. Got to the Army and that was the pistol that folks qualified with, the M9.

Many of the folks in China and North Korea actually think that we’re still using many of the things that were commonly used in the 20th Century that had since been replaced.

SgtM

We got the M9 in 1985. Guarded a bunker stacked full of 1911’s in crates in 1989.

Oh, to have one of those crates of 1911s…..

The M1911’s were used in some units/commands beyond 1989, it was in the 1990s when the transition went full swing towards the use of the M9. I was a fleet sailor into the mid 1990s, the M1911s is what we qualified with to stand Petty Officer of the Watch on the ships I was on. When I returned to the fleet in 2001, they had pretty much shifted to the M9s. I was an officer by then, and had to qualify on the M9 to stand quarterdeck watch as both the Petty Officer of the Watch and the Officer of the Deck had to be qualified and armed with the M9.

When I was in the ARNG 1975-1977, we had Remington typewriter 1911’s

David

Some special ops units (I believe including Marines) opted for modified 1911s.

SFOD Delta was using 1911’s into the 2000’s. Personally, as a combat weapon in .45 ACP, I would prefer something with with a double stack magazine. Seven or eight rounds doesn’t seem to be enough for a gunfight in actual combat.

ANCRN

Well, I am certainly glad I didn’t fall for that scam…oh, that’s right, I don’t do Tik Tok.

China isn’t going to care about anybody trying to rip foreigners off online, it’s what they do. Half of the Chinese economy is built around it.

Roh-Dog

When you order ‘a war hero’ from wishdotcom…

The whole signal-to-noise ratio is off the charts with just about every part of this ‘operation‘, which has led to graft on a scale unrivaled in history.

One silver lining, citizens are undercutting the personal assets-to-taxation/government-theft and nest feathering cycle.

Can’t get blood [currency units] from a stone [self-made pauper]!

Lying POSes… making Sh^t Sundaes with Rancid Cherries available World Wide. Just one more thing that the Chinese Communists have copied.

Green Thumb

I did not realize All-Points Logistics had a outfit working in China.

Would make sense though. Cheap, deceitful, low-end quality, service and products are what APL is about while charging absorbingly high rates all the while sticking it the American – or in this case – the Chinese taxpayer.

Protest denied! Phildostyle!

The only thing is…piss of the government in China and you’ll disappear!

> he turned out to be a Chinese grifter
Joe Biden did this? O_o
