Seems a fella who supposedly has pretty believable credentials -David Charles Grusch – described as:
a decorated war veteran who worked with both the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and the National Reconnaissance Office, where he worked as on the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force with top clearance levels. Jalopnik
is alleging we have recovered bit and bobs all the way up to complete vehicles of “unknown” (ie: alien or if earthly, totally strange) origin and we’ve been covering it up.
In his statements cleared for publication by the Pentagon in April, Grusch asserted that UFO “legacy programs” have long been concealed within “multiple agencies nesting UAP activities in conventional secret access programs without appropriate reporting to various oversight authorities.”
If it’s any consolation, a) he isn’t the only one to come forward and b) we are not the only nation covering this up – basically everyone is doing it. I did have a movie flashback to Raiders of the Lost Ark with that ‘top clearance levels’ line. “We have top men working on it. Top”.
So I guess if their rides are being found in pieces, how advanced could they be? Also, one has to wonder if they walk among us… which takes us to part deux of today’s silliness.

The main problem with “aliens from other planets” visiting us, is the inability to travel faster than the speed of light.
So far, out of all the exoplanets we’ve found, not a single one has been found to have INTELLIGENT life. And all of these planets are located around stars that are hundreds of light years away.
The nearest star to our own sun is Alpha/Beta Centauri at around 4.5 light years. Our fastest spacecraft so far has been the Voyager, and it will not reach 4 light years distance would be 75,000 years. This would mean that if there were a close by civilization capable of traveling to the Earth, they would have had to have started 75,000 years ago….far before there were radio or TV broadcasts; there would have been no particular reason for them to explore our solar system at that time. I highly doubt any other advanced civilization would have found this particular area of the galaxy interesting enough to bother sending generational ships that would require hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of years to get here.
If aliens can travel faster than light and, like on Star Trek, have replicators that can transmute matter and energy, then why the heck would they come here? Just to screw with the Earthlings?
My bet is that they have already scouted us out, thus now they lock the doors of their Spacecrafts while passing Earth fully cloaked!

You are correct about the incredible distances from one star to another.
But we will eventually travel to the stars probably using an asteroid as a generation ship.
Hollow out part of the astroid, put a crew on board, and thousands of years later they arrive at the destination having mined the astroid for resources during the journey.
It was likely aliens will travel between stars the same way

I wish there were aliens. New tech that we are in baby steps on, such as generating electricity from the air for free, would likely be mature for them.
Sadly though there aren’t, unless they can break the laws of physics as we understand them.
How many “laws” of science do we break today which were once thought immutable? They are only unbreakable until we figure out how. You couldn’t send a message to someone out of earshot and sight, right? Until smoke signals, radio, etc.
In a practically infinite universe, life almost must exist elsewhere. Simple odds say half of those species must be more technologically advanced. Enough to do things we consider impossible? Read the news this week…solar energy creating power in orbit and SENT to Earth. Impossible! Now apply (remember, in an infinite universe) to potentially millions of species over millions of years. Problem for us – by their standards we may not even qualify by their standards to be sentient, much less civilized.
Technically, radio actually IS smoke signals. Do something that radio doesn’t like, and all the magic smoke comes out.
The problem of recognizing intelligent life runs both ways. I do subscribe to the Fermi paradox.
Well, we already get some “electricity from the air.” We get it from the movement of air via windmill generators. But that obviously wasn’t what you had in mind.
I figure if aliens have visited Earth, then there’s beacons around our solar system marking this area as a “not ready for contact” zone. The UFO’s that are being spotted are teenagers taking their dads UFO out for a joyride to fuck with the unintelligent aliens that are us.
We share 98.7% of our DNA with the Bonobo, what a difference 1.3% of DNA can make. Our dumbest five year olds can accomplish things intellectually that the smartest Bonobo will be unable to achieve.
It’s not really that hard to consider compared to aliens capable of traversing the galaxies that we are the Bonobo in this comparison and everything those aliens are capable of would appear as magic to our brightest scientific minds…
The arrogance of our species doesn’t like and will never like that possibility, and until someone releases what can be considered definitive evidence I suspect speculation will remain rampant as to the true nature of things in our universe as it has since we first started drawing on cave walls…

Now my personal opinion is it disclosure is inevitable, and we are on the doorstep.
My only absolutely 100% confirmed close encounter was Friday night September 1987 when men in civilian clothes came into my office and asked for me to generate documentation to move things from Roswell, New Mexico to an undisclosed location.
These two guys did have military IDs, which I asked to see. I was an airman first class at TMO. I explained to them that the logistics of generating shipping documentations for something I never saw going to a location I could not document it just doesn’t work that way. My text Sergeant supervisor also was there and was baffled as to how we could give them documentation to do if they wanted to do without sufficient information..
This happened to be to be the Friday night before the 40th anniversary broadcast of 60 Minutes on the subject of the 1947 crash at Roswell
Are intrepid men in Black ended up going to the squadron commander at Peterson Air Force Base in commandeering about it doesn’t Airman and half a dozen vehicles and driving from Colorado Springs all the way to Roswell New Mexico. That’s the great mystery..
Why in the flying fuck would you do that when we had multiple base is much closer to Roswell New Mexico??

One other quick, no shit 100% true story that happened to me “recently” was probably a couple of years after I started on the Hubble project in 1999. It wasn’t too many years after I got there. I knew a guy that worked downstairs that it worked for Perkin Elmer or whatever it was at the time (1970-80s?) and I had read a lot of conspiracy shit on the Internet.
Hank was in the 70s and was a very mild mannered, cool, chill, older gentleman. I never had anything less than 100% positive interactions with him..
One day I asked him “hey you used to work at Perkin-Elmer and didn’t they make the Hubble mirror….the one that had the anomaly. I read something on the Internet about they making a second Hubble mirror… did you never know anything about that?.
He turned, beet red look at me and said, and I quote “don’t you ever fucking ask me about that again!!!!’” and stormed off.
And I literally stood there, speechless, and didn’t even know how to react.
It wasn’t until about 10 years later that the National Reconnaissance Office made public, the fact that they had a Keyhole satellite, which was basically a miniature Hubble spacecraft, super top secret observation platform that they had had two of in a warehouse in Pasadena California, for over 25 years, they never used it no longer wanted and didn’t wanna pay for any more. , which they then offered to NASA.
NASA took possession of of these (1of 2?), and it is now being used as the what/has been developed as W-First/Dark Energy/Nancy Roman space telescope, platform.
