Bystanders with gun, car stop attack on family in west Wichita, police say

An attack on a family in their car Wednesday evening was stopped by bystanders who used a vehicle and a gun to end the assault, officials said Thursday.A Wichita police news release says 38-year-old Julian Luis Gonzalez was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and several other counts. Jail records say he was arrested on suspicion of four counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and two counts each of aggravated endangering of a child and criminal damage to property.
Gonzalez and two people were taken to the hospital, all with non-life-threatening injuries, Wichita police spokesperson Chad Ditch said in an email. The two were a 30-year-old man who Gonzalez reportedly stabbed and a 28-year-old woman who had minor injuries. She was cut while leaving a vehicle after a crash, Ditch said, adding that Gonzalez’s injuries were probably cuts from glass.
The situation unfolded at around 6 p.m. on Wednesday at West Street and Murdock.
Gonzalez “intentionally used” his car to hit another car, police say, driven by the 30-year-old man. The 28-year-old woman and two children — a 5-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl — were in the car.
“Gonzalez then exited his vehicle and began breaking the (other car’s) windows out with nun-chucks,” Ditch said in a news release.

Law enforcement shot and wounded a man who was reportedly suicidal and armed with a sword Friday night in North Branch.During their interactions with the man shortly before 10 p.m. at a home in the 6600 block of Oak Ridge Court, officers from the North Branch Police Department and deputies from the Chicago County sheriff’s office fired less-than-lethal and regular rounds from their weapons, striking the man, according to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

Man accused of holding hostage at gunpoint shot, killed by deputies in Catawba Co., authorities say

Authorities said a man accused of holding a hostage at gunpoint was shot and killed by deputies in Catawba County Saturday morning. No deputies were hurt, they said.The shooting happened on Village Circle in the Mountain View community, just south of Hickory.
Investigators told Channel 9?s Dave Faherty the initial call for the incident was for a hostage situation and it came at 6:45 a.m. Deputies said a man was holding another man at gunpoint inside an SUV.
Deputies said they called in the Catawba County sheriff’s SWAT team to try to negotiate with the man, who they said was threatening to shoot the hostage.

The rough and tumble was just too much for his gentle soul.
Did he die among the general prison population? Don’t care HOW (except to give the guy who did it a medal). Just glad to know that “he’s” no longer a threat to minors, and ceasing to consume precious food and oxygen .
Too bad the po-po didn’t apply The Taxpayers’ Savings Shot (TTSS) in the top two situations. They (the po-po) had every justification.
Just think of the thousands of taxpayer dollars that could have been saved by the judicious application of a dollar round of ammunition.
