Biden says Covid is handled, inflation soon to follow
President Biden, in an interviw aired Sunday on CBS’ “60 Minutes”, says the Covid pandemic is “over”, that inflation has slowed to a crawl and he will have that remaining pesky inflation handled soon.
President Joe Biden expressed optimism about the direction of the US economy Sunday, saying America will be able to rein in historically high inflation and that he’s hoping the Federal Reserve will achieve a “soft landing” by slowing economic growth without going into recession.
US inflation this year has soared to the highest levels seen since the early 1980s as a confluence of factors — including the pandemic, supply chain snags, and Russia’s war in Ukraine — have upended the global economy.
Biden attempted to temper those concerns and expressed optimism that the worst may be over, “Let’s put this in perspective. [The] inflation rate month-to-month was just an inch, hardly at all,” he said in the interview.
(Bloomberg) — President Joe Biden declared the Covid-19 pandemic “over” and said Americans would gain “control” of inflation, outlining a rosy view for the US economy in an interview less than two months before crucial midterm elections.
“The pandemic is over,” Biden said. “We still have a problem with Covid. We’re still doing a lot of work on it. It’s … but the pandemic is over…”
The CPI rose 8.3% in August compared to the same month last year, a larger increase than forecast.
So he is saying the inflation slowed to “just an inch” last month when it was less than a point lower than the highest CPI reading (9.1%, in June) of the year. Luckily he has something to blame: Supply chain woes Fox Business. Or maybe Republicans Yahoo. Even worse – when CNBC blames a Democrat President CNBC ? Or when Biden blames his own Covid bill NY Post?

The interview was sickening to watch. He was basically coaching Biden with Democrat talking points. 60 Minutes used to be about solid investigative journalism and asking hard questions. But it all died in 1992 with the Clinton interview. They have been a reilable lapdog of the left ever since.
A fitting ending to that interview with the Klintoons would of been them being hit by a bus after leaving the studio. I didn’t watch it. I’ve known that Hitlery is a despicable bitch for a long time.
Math was never a strong subject for me. I struggled with it but was able to get thru electronics schooling. %s of increase don’t make sense when a lot of products are TWICE, if not more, than they were 2 years ago. And those prices will not come back to the previous levels. ALL prices are tied to the price of energy (read oil). I prefer to think that the election was stolen than to think that there are 81 million people in this country stupid enough to vote for a career, grifiting, self enriching politician that has done nothing but slurp from the public trough for 50 years.
They’re “redeeming themselves” for having had journalistic integrity in years past.
Inflation at 8.3% is a fantasy because that takes into account Pedo Joe emptying the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to lower the price of gas. In reality its over 10 or 11% for all the standard necessities. Essentially, you’re only earning around less than 11 months’ pay with the increase in costs over last year. That pervert said inflation was “0%” was another lie because the official number was unchanged (see gas prices bullshit), and he was bragging that it was good. All the sheep in the media bleated along. Is ANYBODY better off today than when Trump was in office? Any Wars pop up since he left? The national mood is better? Worse? No matter what, the price of gas is going to raise up after the election and that’s ALL PLANNED.
He had to “lower” inflation before the COLA was determined. Otherwise tens of millions of retiree, SS, and welfare checks were going to spike like crazy. Sure they just print more but then more inflation, way more. Then burning Biden in effigy on the Mall.
I guess my retirement check will get a big bump. I currently have the base pay of an E7 with 12. I should get bumped to E8 level pay after the retiree COLA hits.
Just got notified my part D drug plan is going to triple.
With zero inflation that’s 3 x zero which is no increase.
No need for a COLA this year.
Hey, in that interview, Brandon said inflation only went up an “inch.” So all those inflation stats are meaningless cuz inflation is now measured in inches. I guess we will all know we are totally effed when the Brandon regime gives us the full nine inches.
Speaking of inches the Fed just raised rates another 3/4 inch.
Meanwhile, the public health emergency declaration has yet to be lifted, and there are still draconian rules being enforced across the country (mask mandates at public schools, proof of vax requirements, restrictions at restaurants and other locations).
During that same interview, Biden also said his popularity numbers were low because Americans are suffering from poor mental health because of the pandemic, not because of all his failed policies over the past several months. In other words, it’s “our” fault he’s not popular, not his.
60 Minutes can eat a bowl of dicks.

DHS reports that Venezuela is emptying its prisons and sending them to the US Southern Border. The hometown and current residence of every Democrat in Congress and the Senate should receive these “migrants” courtesy of their failed policies. As long as the problem is confined to the border towns/states, the rest of the country is oblivious. The Dems have been dropping of people in secret, The GOP needs to do it in the light of day and announce when and where all the incoming “migrants” and landing. Then watch all The NIMBY Libs scream like they did in Martha’s Vineyard.
