Why are all of the Birther Challengers Officers?

| July 20, 2009

In my last post I noted that the wacko birther “lawyer” claims to have over 170 officers on board. It made me wonder why she doesn’t claim any NCO’s?

It reminded me of this story from a SOCOM Plans BUB (Battle Update Brief). As best as I can recall, it went something like this…

A U.S. Army Colonel was about to start the morning briefing to his staff. While waiting for the coffee machine to finish its brewing, the Colonel decided to pose a question to all assembled.

He explained that his wife had been a bit frisky the night before and he failed to get his usual amount of sound sleep.

He posed the question of just how much of sex was “work” and how much of it was “pleasure?”

A Lieutenant Colonel from the EOC chimed in with 75-25% in favor of work.

A Major plans officer (and expert slide bitch) said it was more like 50-50%.

A Captain responded with 25-75% in favor of pleasure, depending upon his state of inebriation at the time.

There being no consensus, the Colonel turned to the Master Sergeant who was in
charge of the war room. What was HIS opinion?

Without any hesitation, the Master Sergeant responded, “Sir, it has to be 100% pleasure.”

The Colonel was surprised and, as you might guess, asked why?

“Well, sir, if there was any real work involved, the officers would have me doing it for them.”

The room fell silent.

Feel free to discuss; I have work to do.

Oh sure, COB, you get to play both sides of the fence on this one, but after observing you for a few years, including your own blog, I suspect that you would stick with us enlisted folk. 🙂

COB6 Wrote: It’s a unique perspective that I truly enjoy. Most of my enlisted career I spent with all NCOs and one officer and other than doing my penance as a LT with Jonn spent most of my commissioned career surrounded by NCOs. I retired when I found myself surrounded by officers. But can’t say I’d trade a day of it.

I figured that being a Officer has more politics involved then the lower to mid level enlisted have to deal with.

(Sgt D) “But sir, if we put the 240 in the observation post 20 Ft off the ground then we will have shit for grazing fire and it will be a HUGE target for RPG gunners.”
(2nd LT)”The 240 is going in the OP.”
(Sgt D) “That makes no tactical sense sir!”
(2nd LT) “But that’s what the VC did at the prison camp in Rambo 2!”

ok, so I made the last part up…
