Uniontown police investigate domestic dispute that ended in shooting

Cassandra Nist -The Repository
LAKE TWP. – Police are investigating a domestic violence incident that left a man shot in both arms.

Officers were called to the 1300 block of Edison Street around 10:42 a.m. Thursday, after a 34-year-old pregnant woman and 33-year-old man got into a fight, Uniontown police said.

According to 911 calls, the woman was being choked and feared for her and her unborn child’s life when she grabbed a gun nearby, and fired a single shot that struck the male in both arms.

The man and woman were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Uniontown police have secured a warrant for the man’s arrest when he is released from a medical treatment facility.

Thanks, Gun Bunny. Hope he gets a warm welcome in the local lock-up.

Man who shot 2 people on TRAX platform ruled justified, prosecutors say
by Jeremy Harris, KUTV

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Prosecutors have declined to file charges against a man who shot two other men earlier this month at a Salt Lake City TRAX platform.

The shooting happened on July 2 at the 900 South 200 West TRAX station.

One of the men, Garrison Willie, 36, was killed. The second man, whose identity has not been released, was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but has since been released, according to Utah Transit Authority police.

According to a declination letter by the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office, the shooting came after the man who fired the shot repeatedly asked Willie and the other man to leave him alone.

Released. Just great.

From what little I heard on the local “news” about the downtown SLC shooting, the two “upstanding citizens” were harassing the third man to the point just short of armed robbery. Sooo…..yeah……won’t leave me alone? Won’t stop when I ask you to stop? “Say ‘ello to my lit’le frien’ “. The Dud-ly Duo, they FAFO.
What surprised me was that the DA, Sim Gill, was the one who decided not to prosecute. He’s a fairly leftist type, but this decision of his surprised me. I guess even a blind squirrel finds the occasional acorn.
The score on this one needs to be changed to 1/1/0. The local constabulary knows exactly where the second shootee is. They’re just waiting until he’s healed enough to not leak all over their police car when they go to pick him up to transport him to the local lockup. And that score could change to 2/0/0 if he succumbs to a hospital staph infection (we can only wish).

I am a huge S&W revolver fan but I hate those oversized plow handle grips like shown in the picture. I have no idea why they decided to make those the “standard” grips for so many decades. I applaud the decision to go to round butt format on the frames as you have a larger span of grip choices that way.

David

Agree 100% on the round butt. Standard K frame grips replace the oversized Goncalo Alves (sp?) grips perfectly. The old Hogue Boot grips work really well on the round butt, too.

I still have my S&W Mod 14, 6 in. barrel .38 which I used for Police EL X matches.(bullseye) The original 14’s have a pencil barrel which makes the grip bottom heavy so I went and got a Bomar rib and Bomar target sights installed on the barrel. Used my duty issued S&W Mod 10 .38 4In. Bull barrel for Combat matches.

Pro tip to dirtbags everywhere. When somebody says “Leave me alone!”, they generally mean it. And to the wimmins that think an order from a court will protect them? Get a firearm…and learn to use it..

Real nice plinker ya gots there Mister. Looks like it would come in handy for squirrels and sech. Be even nicer if it was in the caliber intended by…well…you know. I happen to be on the hunt for a proper sized S&W Wheelie as we speak.

“…go Model 29.” Be still my beating heart. Yep looked long and hard at one and slobbered all over it. It wasn’t so much the more spendy part as the desire to quit adding different calibers. Leaning toward the Model 25 since it is (a) in God’s Caliber and (b) it would complement the .45 cartridges that I already have for the Kimber. Then again, Homeboy at the toy store did have a real nice Model 10 that was winking at me with a come hither look. Not only was my former Model 10 one of the finest wheeled shooting irons I ever owned, that would complement the Taurus Hide-a-way snubbie that’s in .38. And there’s a fairly good supply of .38 around. Decisions decisions.
