Yet Another Stolen Valor Scam

| July 27, 2022

Sadly, this sounds all too familiar… several media outlets are reporting the following story.

In Iowa, an Oxford Junction man was charged with fraud for allegedly getting thousands of dollars by pretending to be a veteran.  Apparently, he was operating on the Iowan principle of “if you build it, they will come.”

In September 2020, Christopher Williams held a benefit motorcycle ride in Mount Pleasant, claiming to be a veteran of the Armed Forces. Police said he took in over $4,500 in donations in support of the ride.

Case of stolen valor: Iowa man allegedly makes over $4.5K by claiming to be vet

A concerned citizen went to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office in May about a man allegedly pretending to be a veteran.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa — Editor’s note: The video above is from July 24, 2022.

An Oxford Junction man was charged with fraud for allegedly getting thousands of dollars by pretending to be a veteran.

In September 2020, a benefit motorcycle ride in Mount Pleasant was held for 45-year-old Christopher Williams, who claimed to be a veteran of the Armed Forces. Police said he received over $4,500 from the ride.

It wasn’t until this May that a concerned citizen came forward regarding Williams’ potential act of stolen valor.

Several attempts were made to verify Williams’ veteran status, but no records were ever found of him being a member of the Armed Forces, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.

Williams was charged Monday, July 11 with second-degree fraudulent practice, a Class D felony, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Then, others reported on the same…

(KWQC TV Channel 6) Deputies: Oxford Junction man falsely claimed he was a veteran, got money from benefit event

As in other cases, the main charges brought against Williams will not be stolen valor.  I guess they like to go with fraud instead.

The story does not say which Armed Forces Williams identified with.  That would have been nice to know who he choose to associate with.  Maybe in an odd way a badge of honor.

Was it the Space Force?! Who knew they had veterans already!

I’ve seen things you wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the arm of Orion…C-beams glittering by the Tannhauser gates….

“The story does not say which Armed Forces Williams identified with”

Probably classified…..

This assclown is claiming to be a Marine Corps combat veteran.

As a 40 year motorcycle rider, I can tell you that anywhere in the US where motorcyclists gather, there are con artists like this begging money to “raise awareness of veterans issues” or “to stop veteran suicides” or some such bullshit. It’s a plague, and the “veteran biker” archetype has become a worn out cliché in the motorcycle community.

The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have provided a fresh supply of “biker vets” just in time, since the old Vietnam Vet Biker Bros (many of whom never got closer to Vietnam than watching “Apocalypse Now” on cable TV) were either dying off or trading in their Harleys for golf carts and mobility scooters.

There is a guy that travels to all the rally’s – has a see through trailer with a new or previous year Harley for raffle for Veterans and Single Mom’s – two years ago it was won by a guy that had 5 Harley’s in his garage and sold the winning Harley back to the dealership it was “donated” from not saying they are fake but it sure looks fishy to me. I watched it on a you tube video don’t remember which one but all of these Non-Profit scammers get old. I know some Non-Profits are good but I feel in these cases raffles are just one big scam.

Makes me wonder about some I used to ride with in SoCal, I did mostly Charity runs in the 80’s. There was this one guy on a trike, looked like USS Enterprise, I think he was with the Federation.

I quit riding when I had a young family. Just couldn’t feature gettin mashed into the pavement and leaving them without a father. I like boats a lot more and also you can’t drink a coffee on the way to work or a beer on the way home on a bike.

Ram mounts makes a nice gimbaled drink holder that handles commuter cups and 16 oz “containers” pretty well 🙂

EDDIE MURPHIE: I was in…Sang Bang…Dang Gong…I was all over the place, a lot of places.

COP: What unit?

EDDIE MURPHY: I was with the Green Berets, Special Unit Battalions…Commando Airborne Tactics…Specialist Tactics Unit Battalion. Yeah, it was real hush hush. I was Agent Orange, Special Agent Orange, that was me.

Is that Alaska Bob who says he has his DD 214 and we are waiting for him to show it but he hasn’t come out with it???

tshe

Last word is that DD-214 is still in route… by pack mule.

jeff LPH 3 63-66

Well I’ll be hogswhistled, then it is him. I mentioned once before that he was in a snow bank with Sgt. Preston of the Yukon Mounties and his dog King digging themselves out of a snowbank caused by an avalanche

I thought Alaska Bob had terminal cancer and 6 months to live ~ 2 or more years ago? And he still hasn’t shuffled off this mortal coil to eat chili with the late Les Moore (Wasn’t that his name?) in Nevada?

No more, no Les.

Woah, a biker who faked service? Never would have seen that coming.

This is one Phildoesque dude.

The False Commander “Phony” Phil Monkress (CEO of All-Points Logistics) would be proud of the initative this turd has undertaken.

I imagine Lori Benton has been contacted and is spinning up….

Motorcycles again.

— GROAN —

Why do motorcycles ALWAYS have to be involved in this extreme assclownery?

If we could only get a glimpse of Williams’s leather vest covered in POSer bling, we’d be able to decipher which of the Armed Services he pretended to be associated with.

Army Special Forces and/or Ranger? Navy SEAL? USMC Force Recon? Sniper? POW? A combination of any/all of these?

Inquiring minds want to know…

Speaking of Military Phonies…

Remember this TAH story posted by Steve Balm on 22 July 2022: “Roy Fernandez-The Green Beret That Wasn’t?”

“Ron Fernandez resigned after he was “suspended from all contact with the team” amid an investigation about his military service, Alter Principal Lambert said.”

“A letter from Lambert to Alter parents, obtained by the Dayton Daily News through the group Guardians of the Green Beret, states that “due to the integrity and character implications in this investigation, Coach Fernandez will no longer be affiliated with our school in any way.”

Wonder how he is gonna financially support his wife and dog…

Speaking of Military Scams…

Remember this 18 September 2018 TAH posting about the “Homeless Marine” Johnny Bobbit with the GoFundMe story?

“$400,000 Missing From Veterans GoFundMe Account”

https://valorguardians.com/blog/?p=81626

Guess What:

“N.J. Woman Sentenced To Prison For Role In GoFundMe Scam About Helping Homeless Vet Johnny Bobbitt”.
“The scam started with a lie about Johnny Bobbitt Jr., who the couple said came to Kate McClure’s rescue when she ran out of gas off an exit on I-95 in Philadelphia on a cold night in fall 2017.”

https://www.inquirer.com/news/new-jersey/kate-mcclure-johnny-bobbitt-mark-damico-go-fund-me-20220721.html

” In April, Mark D’Amico, who was McClure’s boyfriend at the time of the scam, was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison. Johnny Bobbitt Jr., the veteran and purported beneficiary of the fundraising campaign, is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty in 2019.”

It’s all fun and games until you get stuck in Mod Jail. Right, ninja?

Our beloved AW1Ed simply ADORES us Army types…

AW1Ed knew that if he did not rescue the ninja family from the Mod Jail, that he would be entering the Danger Zone and that his Goose would be cooked.

In reality, he felt this need for speed….Ask our Rebel, KoB..

Uh, Oh…The ninja family may be in deep kimchee with AW1Ed…He wouldn’t send us back to Mod Jail, would he?

In Mod Jail – does the normal currency exchange consist of cigarettes and toilet wine? Asking for a friend.

Not to worry, ninja. The Warden of the TAH Mod Jail can be bought off with a bowl of cheese grits with shrimps and bacon, some grilled crab cakes, and/or tickets to a Naval Aviation Themed Motion Picture.

You gotta remember, the TAH Servers, located in the closet of a boat floating around somewhere, were programed and set up by a Marine, therefor it can only count up to 3 linky attachments per comment. More than that and the outdated Red Hat Software, that was purchased from a Vice President of Media Relations of a proud but humble woman owned company, automatically goes into a search mode, looking for a deal on crayons.

All-Points Logistics is in their future.

A lot of businesses have trouble getting applicants / employees.

Phil Monkress and All-Points Logistics do not seem to have that problem.

Just saying….

Well, well, well; what have we here?

Ol’ Christopher here claims to be a Marine Corps combat veteran.

Any additional phony claims of Force Recon and/or Scout Sniper?

Mick

Or any valor awards, or perhaps a Purple Heart or two?

ninja

Mick:

Remember THIS Marine Corps Chris Williams from Maury County, TN with his claims for awards and medals to include the Silver Star and PH?

He even had PH car tags!

It turns out he received an UNDER OTHER THAN HONORABLE CONDITIONS Discharge. He agreed to the Discharge in lieu of being Court Marshaled for Desertion.
