Police: 2 dead after Akron officers fire at armed suspect; chief vows thorough inquiry
Two men are dead after Akron police responded to a West Akron home early Tuesday when callers reported a man with a gun and then officers fired shots at a 21-year-old armed suspect, police said.
It’s not clear if the officers’ shots hit either of the two men, a news release stated. The second man found dead inside the home was 38, police said.
Officers responded at about 2:40 a.m. to multiple 911 calls about a male with a gun at a residence in the 500 block of Ritchie Avenue. According to one caller, a male inside the house had been screaming and pointing a gun at occupants of the home.
Responding officers said they could hear yelling coming from inside the house. Two occupants of the home then got out of the house and officers learned there was at least one additional person, the 38-year-old man, inside with the younger suspect.

MARYVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Tennessee deputy responding to a call about a suspicious person behind a home fatally shot a man armed with a knife, officials said.
The Blount County Sheriff’s deputy spotted a man Tuesday afternoon that matched the description from the report and he was armed with a knife, a statement from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said. The two encountered each other and for reasons still under investigation, the deputy fired at the man, the statement said. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital. The deputy was not injured.

First.
FINALLY! A pair of hand cannons that Gun Bunny would be proud to own, that have nothing whatsoever, in any way, shape, or form, to do with Saint JMB (Howitzer Be His Name).
Welp, you are correct there, Tox, I would be proud to own that matched pair of Hand Cannons, or any of the other 19 pistols that George owned. But, correct me if I’m wrong, them bad boys are a .45 caliber, so there is that connection to His Most Saintly JMB (Howitzer Be His Name). And according to the Gospel of Saint JMB (HBHN), the .45 is the only true proper caliber for hand cannons. Had a GGGGrandpappy that served with GW during the F&I War AND the Rev War. One of my favorite books, as a lad, was the story of Valley Forge. Did not remember that George was a pool shark.
A twofer DRT (albeit slim info, we just post them, don’t write them). WW cracks a smile. Knife 2 gunfight usually = DRT. *sigh*
Did you note how these can be carried “cocked and locked?”
Hmmm, sounds like inspiration for, well, never mind.
A suspicious man, behind a home, with a knife, now deceased. What had he done (if anything)? Was he at his own home? That story is mighty short and sketchy on details.
Per the movie MIB, sometimes I feel like Jay during his live fire test, when asked to explain why he didn’t fire on the peaceful monsters and DID shoot the little girl. (I’ll have to find that clip and post it later)

So I just laugh and post as is.
