Armed Man with 100 Rounds of Ammo Tackled in Texas Church

AWR Hawkins
The New York Post is reporting new details on a March 15, 2026, incident in which an armed man was tackled in Eden Church in Houston, Texas.

According to the Post, court documents identify the man as 23-year-old Emmanuel Ahsono Mbwavi.

He had been asked to leave the church two months prior to the incident, after handing out “concerning” flyers. On March 15 he came back to the church wearing a backpack and was seen allegedly going into a bathroom, walking out, then going back in several times.

A pastor recognized and confronted Mbwavi and, as the two were exchanging words, a security guard saw that Mbwavi seemed to be holding onto a handgun in his pocket.

FOX 26 noted that “Mbwavi allegedly tried to pull out the gun, but the hammer got stuck on his pants, and the guard tackled him to the ground.”

Mbwavi was allegedly carrying a .22 caliber revolver and had 100 extra rounds in his backpack. He now faces “two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.”

100 rounds? Well clutch my pearls, imagine the headlines if he had a whole Winnie White Box of 550… .22lr. Great job by the guard planting Mr. Mbwavi on the deck before he hurt someone.

With a name like Mbwavi, the locals said, “You ain’t from around here, are you, son? “

Houston might not want him but Austin thrives on his “kind”.

I wonder what the etymology of three consonant sounds may be. Asians have some improbable spelling of word wounds or names, as well. Sounds like something for South Park to explain.

I attended the National Hurricane conference in Austin back in 2010 and I never saw a person wearing a cowboy hat and boots, just saw white as white paper skinned college kids. the brisket and toast was great though. Stayed at the Hilton….

It’s hard to mess up a brisket 🙂 The pain management doc thinks that cowboy boots are affecting my sicatica. Could be but I’ve only been wearing them for sixty years.

Having to run in combat boots during basic training didn’t help things. Maybe I should file a disability claim!

Cowboy boots (or any boot with a heel, I generally wear logger boots for work) actually help my sciatica. Something about keeping my degenerated discs aligned and keeping pressure off the nerve. I just know it works. File that claim. 20% of my VA disability is from degenerative disc disease.

You’re Welcome.

I’m glad no one was hurt and even more glad that there was security at the church. If the idiot isn’t imprisoned or better yet deported ASAP they need to make sure he never gets inside the building again.

BRING UP THE TREBUCHET!!!

That would be a great means of execution. They could have competitions on how far the condemned could be thrown.

We’re gonna need a really big target, too. Bonus points for the longest bounce.
