AW1Ed is unavailable, so I’m taking the helm for the Tuesday FGS post. I like big guns and I cannot lie, so I found one of the biggest. I’ve also never really understood the daily scoring, so hopefully someone in the know can help a brother out.

Shooter in ‘road rage’ homicide called 911 and said he shot in self-defense

In a 911 call Friday night, a man said he shot and killed someone on Interstate 275 in self-defense.

Eric Duke, 47, was killed in the shooting, Colerain police said Monday.

Colerain police spokesman James Love said Duke and another person were involved in a collision due to “road rage” on the highway. After the collision, there was a confrontation and Duke was fatally shot, Love said.

In the 911 call, the man, who has not been identified by police, says he was trying to get away from a reckless driver when the other vehicle stopped in front of him in the fast lane and reversed into him.

The caller was sobbing as he said the other man, who police have now identified as Duke, got out of his vehicle. The caller said Duke was trying to open his door and was pounding on his window.

The caller told the dispatcher he fired in self-defense.

Two other people called 911 in connection with the shooting. A woman, also sobbing, called to report that her boyfriend had just been shot in the head and was dead. She indicated she was present during the confrontation but did not describe what led to the shooting.

Another woman also called 911 to report two drivers speeding and nearly causing accidents on the highway. Later, the same woman called 911 again to report that the vehicles were stopped in the fast lane and there was a man face down on the pavement.

As of Monday morning, no charges have been filed in the case. Police have not said if they believe Duke was shot in self-defense. During his 911 call, the man can be heard talking to the police at the scene.

Evansville police: Homeowner shot suspect who tried to break into her home

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — A man was shot after reportedly trying to break into an East Side home Thursday, police say.

According to an agency police news release, the man was shot once in the 400 block of Kimber Lane after he smashed a sliding-glass door with a shovel. The caller reportedly told dispatch the man had brandished a gun while trying to break in.

Arriving officers located the man, arrested him and found a gun in his possession.

They treated his gunshot wound while waiting for an ambulance. He was transported to the hospital, but his injuries aren’t life-threatening, the release states.

Police said they would release the man’s identity after he was discharged from the hospital and booked into the Vanderburgh County jail.

Pending medical release, the man faces preliminary charges of attempted burglary, operating a handgun without a license and resisting law enforcement.

This story will be updated.

No one can accuse the Tourist Trap of false advertising. The sign out front says “Tourist Trap”. Well played.
And I’d want to check out the barrel of that rifle. Is it really rifled? Or is it just a length of smoothbore pipe? If it’s just a length of pipe, then shouldn’t it be a shotgun or a musket, and NOT a rifle?

It also says it is electric fired Propane, no mention of caliber, which would lend credence to your assumption of a smooth bore “musket”.

Smooth bore or rifled…don’t matter! I want one! I gots a 250 gallon propane tank and several bat’ries.

Kimber Lane? Hmmm. Maybe I should name the driveway leading into Firebase Magnolia Kimber Lane in honor of my NIB Kimber 1911 Custom LW?

Your not going to get a Head in life by banging on a car window. He should have gotten that message inside his head. Oh that’s right, he got an ounce of lead inside his head.

Another example of the right way to deal with a road rage incident.
Turn on your 4 way flashers and pull to the slow lane and the next exit if necessary.
And NEVER get out of your car. When you are out of your car you are automatically at fault.
Also, get US Law Shield. It is the best insurance a gun owner can get. The best twenty bucks a month you can ever spend !!!
