Roberta man fatally shot by deputy after car chase, GBI says
The GBI is investigating after a deputy fatally shot a Roberta man after a chase and fight over a gun.
According to a news release, a Crawford County deputy tried to stop a driver, identified as 47-year-old Denrick Stallings, for speeding.
The GBI says Stallings did not stop and a chase began that ended with him crashing the car. After the crash, Stallings got out of the car and started running away from the deputy.
The deputy Tased Stallings, which caused him to hit the ground. The GBI says a fight happened between the deputy and Stallings as he was being placed under arrest and there was a ‘struggle for the deputy’s gun.’

A man suspected of burglarizing a house in Maryland got stuck in the chimney and had to be rescued, WTOP News reported.Officers responded to a call about an attempted robbery at a home in Montgomery County during the early hours of Saturday morning, a police spokesperson said.
WTOP reported that the man, who has not yet been publicly identified, became trapped in the home’s chimney during the attempted break-in.

“Stuck in a chimney”, methinks someone watched too many cartoons. I would be too embarrassed to let my cellmates know that I had gotten stuck in a damned chimney.
That happened in Madison WI with Good & Loud music went to do some remodeling and found a full set of human bones lodged in the chimney. Evidently, the man had been in there for years and I don’t know if they ever found out who he was.
It is felt that he crawled into the chimney to rob the business, got stuck and died of asphyxiation when he got so compressed that he couldn’t breathe or call out for help.Leave the chimney entries to the professionals like Santa Claus !!!
And they didn’t smell him rotting away in their chimney?

Not just stalled, Tox, it has come to a screeeeching halt. Screeching as in the local news media is now full of screeching about what a good lad he was and fighting with the officer was “not his character”. This incident happened right up the road from my Baby Sister. Crawford County is known for having a very professional group of deputies and they don’t play. However, this rural are is administered, for court purposes, by the SJW DA’s Office out of Macon. This one could get sticky.

Tell that the people protesting the Cumberland County deputy’s shooting of the man who jumped on his (personal) vehicle (and broke the windshield and started pulling the wipers off, etc.).
