SecDef Austin Positive for Covid
Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III
Several of our usual suspects have sent us the startling news that Secretary of Defense Austin has tested positive for the Covid virus, despite being fully vaccinated and boosted. He is reportedly experiencing mild symptoms, and will quarantine for the next five days per recently updated CDC guesswork.
SECDEF Austin tests positive for COVID-19
Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday, he said in a statement provided by the Department of Defense.
Austin said he is fully vaccinated and boosted, and is experiencing mild symptoms. He will quarantine for the next five days, per recently updated CDC protocol.
Austin was on holiday leave and had not been in contact with Pentagon staff since Thursday, and had not been around President Joe Biden since Dec. 21.
His statement and more at the link.
I wish illness on no one, and hope for a rapid and complete recovery to all who have contracted the virus.
Thanks, usual suspects.

Yet more proof that the vaccine (including the booster) doesn’t work, and that the mandate is pointless.
Depends on your definition. As something that prevents one from getting COVID, yes, it does not work. As far as reducing the severity once you get it, I think there isn’t a great deal of debate about that. This seems to be born out with the majority of deaths and hospitalizations are of the unvaccinated.
Two things can be true at once – the “vaccine” (shot, whatever) doesn’t stop you from getting COVID, but it helps once you get it. A third thing that is true at the same time is that I still believe it should be your own choice.
The main take away is that masking is stupid they way it is currently done. Since the American populace isn’t going to (or can’t) mask in a way that it is effective (high quality masks, changed frequently) it just isn’t worth it.
Progressives call it a “vaccine” because that will somehow make it one.
See “The Emperor’s New Clothes” or “Rumplestiltskin”…
The problem, as I see it, is that “unvaccinated” has become a political term and lost it’s meaning in general discussion. In common parlance, it is a pejorative for those who may not fully trust the government or government appointed regulators and who are ignorant rubes. What is lost in the term, and what no one seems to want to know, is the fraction who are “unvaccinated” because they are contraindicated per EUA labeling guidance, or who are on immunosuppressive drug regimens (transplants, chemo, Humira, corticosteroids, and under medical advisement), or just have opted out because they have made peace with the Lord and have a DNR or medical directive in place. My wife and two youngest daughters work in the medical field on the nursing side. While anecdotal, the numbers they relate to me would indicate the politically “unvaccinated” are not the vast majority. Best wishes to Secretary Austin and we will pray that the disease doesn’t advance into a high grade case.
A great deal of us; the “politically unvaccinated” unprogrammed to take The Experiment to Rob Us of Freedom, being the rubest of rubes, when not busy washing ourselves with a rags on sticks, while in good company of the bulk of nurses unjustly relieved; prefer a term-perfected: Purebloods.
Adjust the way you address us, respect Our Newly-Granted Title of Nobility and Allegiances to Rationality. Please and thank you.
Inconvenient individuals just get in the way; only groups matter for progressives.

They should have called it a “preventative” (like a flu shot) but by using vaccine, they gave false hope and also shot themselves in the foot when it didn’t do what they promised. Now they are trusted even less and for good reason.

Sometimes we wonder if the commom cold is now call “Covid-19”..
Or folks are now passing away, not due to nature (the Aging process) but have been identified as being a victim of “Covid-19″…
Am guessing we must be the last folks left on Planet Earth who is getting burned out on the word “Covid-19.”
19. That means there must have been 18 previous versions.
Fauci has been seeking attention since the 1980s…There are numerous newspaper articles about Fauci and AIDS (anyone besides us remember AIDS?), numerous Flu viruses that we do believe alot of us had to get Flu shots on an annual basis to not come down with that strain of Flu.(mandatory)..
Just as you, AW1Ed and others, we never wish illness for other folks. It is hard to have a close relative or a friend pass away (been there).
It’s just when one gets informed that a friend’s Relative or even a distant cousin or ANYONE passed away from Covid 19…and the deceased were born between 1925-1930…
🤔
In case you’re not aware, it’s because it was discovered in 2019. Not because there were 18 previous versions.
Thank You, LC, for correcting our error (We are being sincere, not sarcastic with you..)…We make mistakes all the time!!! (Ask our Admin Leadership or even our Favorite Rebel…RTR VS How Bout Them Dawgs..or our Navy Swabbie as in GABN)..
BTW, good to see you still reading TAH.
Bottom line is we respect anyone getting the Vaccine…Personal Decision.
We also respect others who choose not to get the Vaccine..Personal Decision.
We don’t believe in abortions as well…but that is now a personal and legal decision in the US.
Didn’t some German Dude in the 20th Century try to get rid of God’s Chosen People because they wore the Star of David?
Wasn’t the US Military once segregated based on Skin Color…AND by Gender?
Didn’t FDR put into order during WW2 that anyone of Japanese Descent had to be interned in those “Camps”…and one of the most decorated unit during WW2 were Japanese-Americans?
Hope you see where we are going with this…If we ALL agree on everthing, life would be kinda BORING..
And AIDS? OMG..PLEASE don’t bring back those painful memories of having to give our Soldiers AIDS Briefings before we went on Overseas Deployments or Exercises in the Far East..How does Leadership tell their Troops “Thou Shalt Not Play With The Locals”..Which we sometimes found out not all of our Male Soldiers were interested in Women.

Makes me wonder if the Vaccines became optional (as in Flu shot) that more Folks may be willing to take the Vaccine…
Ever met someone that simply had the attitude “You Can’t Tell Me What To Do” or just enjoyed being defiant?
And yes, some did join the Military only to discover they were in an Occupation that they HAD to obey orders, whether they agreed with the order or saw something not right with the order…
AIDS? Anonymously pork who you want down at the bathhouse, we got Biktarvy now!
Never mind it’s still fatal, incurable and spread by being irresponsible.
I still remember the briefings on Black Syphilis when I first got to Korea!
They put you on a quarantined island and tell your parents you died in a training accident, your body was unrecoverable. That’s what my DS said, anyway.
There actually is drug-resistant gonorrhea they can’t cure now. (Shouldn’t have BS-ed about it back then, ’cause now we’re skrued until someone invents new antibiotics that can kill it.)
That wasn’t even in Basic, they told us that while we were at the “Turtle Farm” in Camp Casey!
They told us that if we tested positive for it, we would be kept in Korea for ten years and then be allowed to return to the States if we survived that long with the stuff, still didn’t keep a lot of guys out of the Bawdy Houses on payday!!
Didn’t keep ’em out of the juicy bars in Itaewon or Songtan either.
I admit nothing. Call my lawer. I don’t even know where the Stereo Club is.
Well Ninja, the last friend I had that died from Covid was a 42 year old paramedic, before that it was a 29 year old nurse. She lived for six weeks on a vent. He died in less than 2 weeks. I am sure the circles you live in vary from mine.
Yes, we are different ages.
We get notices that our Friends/Relatives who were in their late 80s up to 96 years old died.
At our age, that is something not new.
As AW1Ed stated, we don’t wish ill health on anyone despite their age, occupation.
We have relatives that are licensed Nurse Practioners…that are on a Police Force…that are First Responders…
The only way we can related to a 30 year old and a 42 year old is thru our kids.
Fortunately, they, their Friends, their Co Workers are all healthy..between the ages of 29-42. If their friends died “early”, we discovered it was a Car Accident. A Suicide. An Overdose. Cancer. War Zone. As in we both lost Soldiers while in a War Zone…or our Kids lost their friends in a War Zone.
Ever had to contact their relative one on one to tell the bad news that their relative died…Their Soldier?
If we come across as being disrespectful, then we apologize.
What we are dealing with at our age is a Generation of Friends, Family that are about 10-20 years OLDER than us. We can only go to many funerals.
Medication or good genes has prolonged their lives to almost 100 years old.
None of them COVID Related.
So sorry for your loss.
I didn’t interpret it as disrespect.
5JC:
We are so sorry.
Sometimes our words/feelings do not come out “right”.
We are both at that age where we are no longer attending Weddings.
We are attending Funerals.
One can see their own life flash quickly. We still remember High School friends who got behind the wheel of a car and killed themselves in car accidents.
We have lost friends thru Cancer, thru Suicide, to Heart Attacks at an early age of 50…yes, to us, 50 is now young.
We attended three funerals where our Classmates were murdered over disputes with each other with Women.
We lost a fellow Soldier due to Leukemia. We visited him while he was in a Military Hospital. We stayed 6 hours to listen to him talk about his disease. We left when his wife and Kids arrived.
He died a week later..we promised his family we would help in a Military Funeral.
We had a Soldier whose baby died from an open heart. The wife could not deal with that when they came home without the Baby. Too painful to tell you what that broken hearted wife did.
I can go on and on and on about dealing with reality of Life.
It is just we are tired of turning on the news, reading the news…and COVID is the cause of death:
Caption said the woman was 98 and died of complications from COVID?
Really?
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/12/13/us/covid-deaths-elderly-americans.html
Are we the only ones who know the older one gets, the more their immune system is compromised?
We both are no longer 20-30 years olds who can knock out pushups/situps and do a 2 mile run in less than 10 minutes. At our age, if we trained for it, perhaps we can do it.
Again, we are so sorry for a person’s loss related to COVID.
Sadly, far more have died than needed to, due to suppression of effective treatments in order to push the jab. That’s the crying shame of the situation. Like the police officer who had requested to be treated with Ivermectin, but the hospital not only refused, but went to court to prevent it.
Nailed it. The Right to Try is a human right and G-D DAMN those who step in the way, namely Hitmen of Big Pharma and benefactors of a Corrupt Gov.
Wait until the true toll of the injured is tabulated.
Just in the last 2 years, two of my good friends in different parts of Texas died of rare brain cancers. The son of another friend had a battle with the Wuhan virus that nearly killed him, but he had had asthma since young childhood. The others in our circle who died “with COVID” had underlying conditions. At my high school Senior Picnic in 1971 a classmate died of an asthma. We attended his funeral wearing our cap-and-gowns and paid for him to be buried in his. I performed the funeral for my still-born twin grandchildren. My best friend from high school died of stomach cancer when her only child was 2. Another friend went in for emergency surgery for a brain tumor just before Thanksgiving. They ‘successfully’ removed it – but then punctured her lung while intubating her, had to put her in an induced coma for healing. She has not woken up yet. Her daughter, at the same time, started treatment for leukemia. My brother 4 years younger than I in in a nursing home after a stroke. I’ve been his care advocate for 5 years now, took care of him for 2 years before that after his first stroke. Our cousin about the same age is at 30%-ish heart capacity. One of my kids in Scouting shot himself when he was having problems with his girlfriend. Another has fallen into the mire of meth. I was invited to the wedding of a young couple with whom I served in our church’s Preschool Ministry. When there I realized just how long it had been since I’d been to a wedding. And how often instead I’m going to funerals. Like our friend who got up one morning before Thanksgiving – and died with her husband and daughter doing CPR on her, for no known reason. I won’t go into the little bit I saw in my very short time as an EMT-B. Death comes for each of us. Each death is tragic. But this COVID-scare is, IMHO, unadulterated tyrannical bullshiite. I don’t want to sound callous about anyone’s death.… Read more »
Nothing to add but a heartfelt thank you and recognition of a fine spirit inside you, GB.
May God bless you and yours.
Just to offer you a different perspective, there seems to be this misconception that many of us who advocate for vaccinations are somehow ‘living in fear’. It’s an attractive sentiment because it creates a line between the brave and the fearful, and who doesn’t want to be among the brave?
Here’s the kicker – advocating that people take basic protection against this virus is no more ‘living in fear’ than, say, looking both ways before crossing the street. Do you tell your grandkids to do that? If so, are they ‘living in fear’ of being hit by cars? Or is it just common sense to take a simple precaution? Yes, death comes for us all, but there’s no need to hurry it along.
Similarly, why is it tyranny to get this shot, yet to attend school, your grandchildren likely need well over a dozen shots? Is that tyranny too? Or just ensuring the general welfare of one’s community?
I won’t say ‘nobody’ is living in fear because obviously there are those idiots who wear full-body condoms while spraying bleach everywhere just to walk to their mailbox, but the vast majority of people whom you seem to feel are living in fear are, in truth, simply arguing that people take basic precautions.
That death is inescapable doesn’t mean one shouldn’t protect themselves as best they can.
LC:
COVID deaths are OVERKILL.
Just as Graybeard, we knew of parents whose Kids died from Drug Overdoses. Gun shootings. Birth defects.
Death comes to us all. Three years ago, no one paid attention to Flu deaths. Or any Deaths, unless you were once “famous”.
And now this is becoming the news? We are sick and tired of Fauci. Research him. He tried to pull this publicity stunt with AIDS in the late 1980s.
As a reminder to All: Our own Jonn Lilyea died from ALS. He was so young…and he persisted to stay the course.
Anyone here lost Friends/Family in 9-11,i.e. the Pentagon or Twin Towers? Please raise your hand.
Anyone here had their Spouse suddenly die? Please raise your hand.
War Zone? Please raise your hand.
I’m not sure I understand your point — what do you mean they’re overkill?
And yes, we’re humans – we tend to not pay attention to things we’re used to, for better or worse. But comparing it to the flu is ridiculous. The worst flu year in the past few was 2017-2017, with deaths estimated at 61K. We’re over 820K from COVID. Is that not notable and newsworthy?
I’ve lost plenty of friends over the years. I like to keep the ones I’ve got left. Advocating for basic protections from things that can kill them is simply good humanity, not oppression.
LC, I did not comment on vaccinations one way or the other, did I? That is a part of this hysteria, granted, but one I did not address. But, if you want me to go there: I grew up in Houston Texas, which when I was a child was an epicenter of the polio virus – many of my peers (fortunately none of my friends) ended up in iron lungs for the rest of their life. Then came the Salk vaccine – properly tested not rushed through some political pressure – and I took my doses on sugar cubes like every other child in town. After being vaccinated none of us got polio. I also got my small pox vaccine. After being vaccinated none of us came down with small pox. (Do you see what I’m pointing out there?) I decided to take the Pfizer vaccine – both doses. Ended up with heart problems (as have many others) and I won’t take any boosters when people are getting COVID after being “vaccinated” and “boosted”. FWIW, my mother was an RN, I was an EMT-B and a Wilderness and Remote First Aid instructor for the ARC. Medicine and medical care have always been one of my interests. I am proactive in my healthcare and have a reasonably good understanding of the nuances of healthcare. I have, as well, many friends and relatives who are active healthcare providers – MDs, RNs, LVN’s, EMT’s etc. A lot of us are skeptical, to say the least, of these vaccines. All of us are aware that in medicine there is no One Size Fits All for administration of care or medicines. Each individual has the right to choose what types and forms of healthcare they will accept, practice, or submit to. These “basic precautions” as you call them are no exception to the fact that there is no One Size Fits All. Just because I have prostate cancer does not mean that I should have surgery or chemo or radiation. My cancer is different from WWs, my body is different, my needs are different. Someone… Read more »
LC and Graybeard: Graybeard has NAILED it. We remember the Smallpox. Lots of us have those scars on our left arm. Our Dads and Moms and Siblings had those scars as well and they are older than us. The Polio Sugar Cube. Yep…Best decision for us youngsters, especially Military Brats. Sugar Cubes versus getting stuck in the Arm for a shot. We could show you our US Military Yellow Vaccination cards, especially if we had to go overseas as Military Brats and Active Duty. The same with our Adult Kids. We had no problem innoculating them with the Measles, Mumps, ChickenPox shot. As a child, I ended up having Measles, the Mumps AND Chicken Pox. We remember the Iron Lung. FDR had polio. We DID have friends who were younger that had Polio. As Graybeard stated, why can’t we have the Freedom to make our OWN personal choice on what we want to put in our bodies? One of us take the Flu shot every year. One of us also did the First COVID because of a Military mission, but no more. We Are Done. The other of us had a bad severe reaction to previous Flu shots that we ended up being put in the Hospital. It is documented. We also were advised from our Doctor for us not risking taking a Vaccine that may be negative in reaction. We have NO Problem if others want to be Vaccinated. As Graybeard pointed out, why are we that are NOT vaccinated being made out to be the Bad Guys?? We spent a very loving Thanksgiving in another State with our Adult Kids. We all live in different States. None of us wore masks. Where we went, there was no “social distancing”. It was wonderful to see Family enjoy LIFE again without those masks. One of us was the only one not vaccinated. Everyone else was. One of us who was unvaccinated then had to undergo a surgical procedure in December and HAD to pay for a COVID test (eyes rolling up). And Gee Whiz, it came back negative.. We get… Read more »

THANK YOU…You as well as others (to include KoB) have been there, done that.
We both have lost our Parents, Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, Siblings to natural death, cancer, stroke, heart attacks, car accidents, suicide, on and on and on. Not only did we attend their funeral, we had to do some of the coordination, planning for close family members.
Somehow, we both survived. We believe there is life after death.
KoB knows what we are talking about. There was once this Jewish Carpenter…and I do believe you remember the Christian Rock Group 2nd Chapter of Acts…saw them in Concert LIVE (The Easter Song).
We also were wondering about your Brother. Thank You so much for sharing that all is OK.
And what you wrote:
“I don’t want to sound callous about anyone’s death. Each one is a tragedy for someone. The grief is real. But it is also inescapable, yet I refuse to yield to a fear of death, to forget to live and enjoy life while I live. I also refuse to yield to tyrants, to give up the liberties I’ve enjoyed and want my grandchildren and great-grandchildren to enjoy to the 12th generation after me.”
EXACTLY. NAILED IT. 100%.
God Bless You Always!
I do remember 2nd Chapter of Acts! And their Easter Song. Wonderful music. (Yes, I was one of those 1970s Jesus Freaks.)
Coordinating funerals, probating wills, working through the bureaucracy of SSA, VA, Medicare – all part of the job.
We know the truth of the Psalm:
[Psa 30:5b NASB95]
Weeping may last for the night,
But a shout of joy [comes] in the morning.
Yep…One of us was a 1970s “Jesus Freak ” as well. Andre Crouch. Phil Keagy. Randy Stonehill. Christian Rock and Roll.
We introduced our kids to DC Talk. Mylon Lefever. Michael W. Smith. Degarmo and Key.
We wore those Bell Bottoms to those Christian Concerts. Our hair was long. It was WONDERFUL.
We still have all those Albums, which we then went to Cassette Tales, then to CDs to listen to 1970s Christian Rock Music.
Alot of friends, family members got the message about our Lord THRU that music..and to this day, are still lifting HIM as of 2022.
And of course we had to deal with “You Are Not a Christian” in the 1970s because we chose to worship Him with our Music Choice.
However, we saw more Young Folks giving their Life to Him in those Concerts than our Churches.
Thank Our Lord that we have you and other TAH members that EMBRACE our Faith 50 years later..
Yep…one of our Favorite Bible verses..”Joy Comes In The Morning”..
And Yep. One of us is STILL trying to deal with Legal stuff with a death of a Sibling who died 7 years ago and left no Will. Some States are fine without those dying that did not leave legal documents. Other States are very Strict.
Thank You again for sharing your Faith..and we hope others research the 2nd Chapter of Acts and The Easter Song (“Hear the Bells Ringing…They are singing that we can all be Borni
Do you remember the fun one called “Rattle Me Shake Me” by Honeytree?
She went a little weird later, but this was one fun song – one that you have to be “of an age” to get some of the jokes:

Friday night coffeehouse in downtown Houston was where I’d be. Wonderful days.
May the virii of a thousand Coof infest his lungs. Sequentially.
Sure does call into question the point of the mandates (yeah, I know, the point is people control), and we already know that they are unconstitutional, but that being said, here’s hoping that Sec. Austin’s recovery is swift and complete (and that his resignation follows the same path.. yeah, I know, I’m a dreamer…)
Hey Fyr – did you guys have to respond to the Marshall Fire up this way? Pretty crazy times. Hope you and your guys are all well.
LC, We did, we sent myself and one other on a Type 6 engine up there with the state surge. We got in Thurs afternoon, and were there for about 24 hrs till the snow came in. Very dramatic fire behavior, and a very difficult fight due to the winds, and lack of water. The structures we were defending had no water in the hydrants nearby, so we had to work off a water shuttle, which severely limited what we could do. That being said, outside of a few minor burns due to ember cast (primary cause of spread during the fire), we and the rest of our task force made it through safely. Thanks for asking! Hope you mad eit through safely as well.
Speaking of firefighting, has anyone heard anything from TOW recently?
Maybe because of the Holidays?
Again, one wonderful part of TAH is other occupations are being discussed..
We personally have Family Members that spent their Careers being Firefighters, Police Officers, First Responders, etc.etc.
It wasn’t until years later what some of them went thru on a physical and emotiomal career choice. They were the “Silent Warriors”.
Thank You For Reminding Us of the Men and Women who chose these Professions.
We have feelers out. No joy yet.
Was just wondering about that myself. Hope he and his family are doing alright. Overall, fire season is pretty much gone, with notable exceptions as above.
Hopefully, TOW is reading this…
Roger thanks
I checked his DeviantArt page but I have no way of knowing when he was last on it other than looking at what he uploaded and the last time he uploaded something was December 16 of 2021.
Thank You so much, Cameron, for doing this.
Update: I just figured out how to check the most recent comments made by a user and TOW last commented on a picture of a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress named Liberty Belle that another Deviant had uploaded five days ago. So going off of that, he seems to be doing fine.
THANK YOU, Cameron for the UPDATE!
Most masks of the wrong materal don’t work and masks made of the right materal will possibly work as long as the wearer gets a complete seal around the face. Gas masks and FD Air pack masks do not work on my face due to the way my face has curvatures on both sides which allows air to get through, but on the FD Scott/MSA’s, their is a positive pressure always inside to keep out any particles that the mask can’t make a complete seal. Older masks that I used had a positive pressure valve that could be turned on and off. No luck with the Navy gas masks though. If anyone remembers the Henry comic book character from back in the 1950’s, my face is similar to his. No problem wearing a cheater untill I got caught by the Chief when we had a job. I also failed the bannana smell test while getting a mask fit.
Use duck tape.
Well gee whiz, is having had the virus from China a status symbol nowadays? I can picture it to the tune of the “I’m a Pepper” jingo, “I’m a Covid, you’re a Covid, he’s a Covid, she’s a Covid, wouldn’t you like to be a Covid too?”. IMHO it’s just more shit from Fauci and the Branch Covidian cult.

Somewhere on TAH you made a comment about The Turtle Farm at Camp Casey.
The ninja family were talking about it when your comment came up…😄😄😄
The Military is such a small world.
I hear Austin also tested positive for stupidity and has a case of anal poisoning.
Rumor is he caught The Totalitarianest Cold of All Colds from his wife’s boyfriend.
I hope all those Raytheon stock certs under his bed will be ok.
Maybe those Raytheon certificates will self ignite and slowly kill his covid that way by way of smoldering embers and smoke.
In-possible, he is now an Übermensch having had all the vaxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxines.
If you read the mostly blank insert it shows a highly efficacious resiliency to flame!

Wait. 5 days? Where I serve (CONUS installation) it’s 10. It’s like there’s no consistency in messaging or requirements or…anything….
Trust. The. Science.
God’s gonna get you for that comment, Roh-Dog…😉
He is just NOT the same Military Officer we worked with when we were all Active Duty.
So puzzling.
Which one? Kidding, don’t care. (said with a smile!)
Mocking ‘those in power’ is the Righteous Way. This current iteration of State is the antithesis of God’s love and should be treated thusly.
YMMV

Austin was with the 82nd.
One of us worked at JRTC.
Austin and the ninja family member jumped twice…flew from Fort Bragg, dropped into Fort Polk.
Austin and the ninja family member both got their parachutes caught in those durn pinetrees at Fort Polk. Kisatchie National Forest.

Just in time for 2022, a new variant has popped up in Cameroon. Stay safe.
https://www.msn.com/en-gb/health/medical/covid-tracking-scientists-in-france-spot-another-variant/ar-AASol6J
Another variant. Not even putting a question mark behind it. Apparently, omicron wasn’t enough to keep the fear at a fever pitch.
I honestly don’t give a rats ass about any longer, and haven’t for quite awhile.
Notice I didn’t say it wasn’t real, just that I’m not living in fear of it.
So I’m seeing all this data about “break through” COVID infections among the vaxxed and boosted. Search as I might I’m not finding anything about “break through” infections among those who contracted COVID and recovered (I did it without horse medicine, bleach or hospitalization. It sucked but look at me now, being a conspiracy theorist in the interwebs).
So tell me again why I should get a vaccine that is currently going through one of the largest human trials ever?
One of our Buddies was diagnosed with COVID in early December 2019 with COVID.
Friend said it was hell.
Fast forward to January 2022. He asked the same question. Why should he be vaccinate?
Simple answer: Because it generally offers much better protection. This study looks at people who were hospitalized with COVID who were either a) previously infected, or b) vaccinated. They found a significant benefit to the vaccine.
https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7044e1.htm
Now, the devil is in the details – the more severe you have it, the stronger the immune response will be, so it’s entirely possible that the above study simply got people who had a minor infection the first time around, and thus a less intense immune response, leaving them poorly prepared for the second round. It seems like your buddy is on the other end of the spectrum, so maybe he’s better off? Still, if I were his doctor, barring any contraindications, I’d absolutely recommend it. Going through hell once is bad enough; why not take the path the reduces the likelihood of having to do it again?
BLUF, TL;DR, without extraneous superfluous embellishment: half of nothing is still nothing.
Anyone that’s gone thru The Destroyer of Worlds and *still* thinks it’s worth hiding behind an experimental jab with *zero* long term studies *deserves* every bad consequence they’ve reaped.
But hey, fucking ‘ask your ‘doctor*’’”
*about anything other than the forbidden medicines.
LC, ol’ Poe is still mystified about your insistence on long-term, double-blind clinical trials on a long-proven, safe drug, Hydroxychloroquine, before it could be used to effectively treat Covid19, yet you apparently have eagerly embraced these vaccines with minimal, even truncated, controlled, clinical trials.
If the vaccines could be granted Emergency Use Authorizations, why not drugs like Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin, which, unlike the vaccines have decades of proven efficacy and safety?
Also, the VAERS reports coming in on these vaccines would have, prior to Covid19, been grounds for terminating their use immediately. Same holds true of the test kits which cannot differentiate between the current Covid viruses and the flu and common cold, resulting in a huge over-reporting of Covid positives.
But you support that?
As someone who spent two decades navigating the dubious boundary between government agencies and Big Pharma, ol’ Poe has good reasons not to trust either.
Your inconsistency is noted…
Not an inconsistency; you’re adding words to my requirements. I don’t believe I’ve ever asked for long-term studies, but I do insist on double-blind ones that conclusively prove efficacy.
With the vaccines, we have incredible amounts of evidence to their efficacy, uniform across numerous countries, and zero real evidence suggesting otherwise.
With HCQ and Ivermectin, we have … lots of confusing data, generally with small sample sizes, and any positive signal within all the noise is, at best, small.
So we have two drugs that maybe have a positive effect, albeit one so small it’s lost in the noise, with no understanding of the biophysical reasons why it might even have that possible but unproven positive effect… or a vaccine that has proven data on its efficacy and effectiveness with a well-understood mechanism of triggering the immune system to stimulate antibody production that targets the same spike protein so unique in COVID.
And you wonder why I favor the latter and find no real value in the former, and think that’s inconsistent? Come on, Poe.
You’re drinking the Kool Aid, LC.
You do realize that suppression of possibly effective therapeutics is no accident, don’t you?
An emergency authorization for a vaccine is only justified by our laws as long as there is no effective treatment for the target microbe of the vaccine.
However, if the the EUA for the vaccines is lifted then the blanket immunity given to Big Pharma by many governments becomes legally testable.
Comprende?
Why aren’t Hydroxychloriquine and Ivermectin being used? Simple. Nobody’s making money off of it.
You think Nancy and the rest can afford $12 gelato on medicines with expired patents?
And LC, yeah, I went through the skull fuck version of COVID (right after the flu and pneumonia Q1 2020 was a hell of time). So other than the scarred lungs, I think I’ve got a pretty robust immune system now. But the 1 size fits all vaccine mandate doesn’t take that into account
Hey, Lloyd… do what your Mama would ell you!
“Rub some tussin on in… tussin fixes everything”
Doc spake, so thus shall it be.
What about ‘drink water’ and ‘change your socks’?!
Tussin? I expected your ‘script would be for ibuprofen, Doc. 😉
Bag Balm will cure anything. Just don’t rub it on your bag.
We are gonna say it.
COVID19 is being used as a Political Platform.
Biden and those DemoRats have NOTHING to do but try to instill FEAR in our Country.
Fauci has been trying for years to be Front and Center. Attention Seeker.
Didn’t some of us join the Military to protect those whose Leadership tried to lead by Fear?
What Are We Missing?
You’re missing nothing, Ninja. Ol’ Poe’s fully with you. The libs admonish us to follow the science, but when we follow their supposed science, where does it lead us?
Right into the dark, wholly-unscientific, totally-corrupt, political bowels of the Democrat National Headquarters, a dark, rank place devoid of scientific thought in any form.
Ol’ Poe will look for his science elsewhere…
Poe: We both have ENOUGH of this garbage.
WE ARE DONE.
We truly hope that those who pushed THE WORST POTUS into Officr are regretting their Voting Decision.
We have become the Laughing Stock of the World.
Nothing against a NY accent, but talk about Torture. If we have to hear Fauci talk again..
We have QUIT watching the News on TV. We turn it on and POOF! Guess who is on the Screen.
* CLICK OFF TV or changing the Station to those TLC “Reality Shows” (“1000 Pound Sisters”)…at least they are NOT addressing COVID, but rather Overweight Issues…
Extreme Obesity is a Killer. Heart Disease.Strokes. Breathing Problems. Back Problems. Knee Problems.
All that can be prevented based on Lifestyle choices. Diet. Exercise. Addressing Mental Health Issues (eating too much food versus drinking alchol or using illegal drugs).
Thank You for sharing.
This dude still diktating? I can’t believe you monsters are making light of his ‘break out’ case after being triple jabbed!
The unvaxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxinated need to be put in camps to save us all, especially the best amongst us like Generalish Lloyd ‘Brought to you by Raytheon’ Austinler here.
Side note, I wonder if his friends from the Theranos Board are going down too?
