Hillsboro police, suspect knock vehicles before arrest
The altercation began, police said, when the suspect in a stolen vehicle allegedly tried to run over an officer.

A Beaverton man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly rammed a police car, tried to run over an officer, and eluded attempts to stop him even after the stolen vehicle he was driving was disabled early Saturday morning, Dec. 18, according to the Hillsboro Police Department.Police say Travis Johnson, 28, was found inside a vehicle that had been reported stolen at an apartment complex in the 900 block of Southeast 13th Street just after 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
After spotting the officer approaching him, Johnson backed up and struck the officer’s patrol car, according to Hillsboro police.
Police said Johnson attempted to run over the officer, whose name has not been released, then led police on a chase.
To stop the vehicle Johnson was driving, police said, officers deployed two spike strips and finally used what law enforcement agencies refer to as a police intervention technique, or PIT, in which a police vehicle deliberately strikes the bumper of a suspect vehicle to cause it to lose control and spin out.
Johnson then allegedly got out of the disabled vehicle and fled into heavy blackberry cover in the area of Northeast Brookwood Parkway and Veterans Drive.

“Take a gun fishing today.”
Wasn’t that saying written on gun cases, over the years? Seems I remember something like that. One more instance of why I am “Armed Everywhere”.
Absolutely.
That’s how you handle that situation. No overt brandishing. Just “politely” show them the consequences of their actions if they continue down that path.
Then, when the situation has cleared, un-ass the A.O.
I would also say call the police and report it…just so they don’t show up saying you brandished a gun and threatened two upstanding young men while they were minding their own business.
Remember he/she who calls first is the victim!!
The fishing video should have ended with two corpses floating downstream
as the guy goes back to fishing.
That would have required the two losers to make their move. Being one, or three, brain cells smarter than the average crook, they knew that it was time to cut their losses and move the fuck on.

Was he chasing Bre’r Rabbit?
Seriously, he’s ruined the entire season for picking blackberries in the wild with that nonsensical move.
I dunno about Blackberries but the Raspberry bushes around
here would strip the skin off a Rhino.
Though there are some thornless varieties, most blackberry bushes are quite similar.
Concertina Lite
EXPH2,
Down here in the south where the Blackberries grow everywhere! Running through them in the off season actually tends to help them grow back better in the spring!
The bigger more established patches are most definitely like concertina wire!
Wonder what Mr. Johnson thought was so important to just keep digging deeper!?
Gotta wonder how long K-9 Officer Tuco had to lick his azz to get the dirtbag taste out of his mouth? We’ll give that Good Boy Tuco some puppo treats, a T-Bone, and some belly rubs. That should help. Gotta wonder, too, if “Mr.” Johnson will meet another “Johnson” at the gray bar motel?
Home bois were fishing for trouble when they interrupt a man that’s fishing. And yep, Frankie Cee, Imma wid you. I don’t even go check the mailbox without Mr. Kahr along. And I live in a very low threat area.
Looks like Ms Thang took a Stance against her boyfriend when he got Savage with her. You go Girl! We know for sure that he won’t ever do that again. Not with him having five (5) Micro holes in him. Shoot til the threat is eliminated!
KoB, I too live in a “low threat” area. Very rural, and very unlikely to see any threat. But,,, if there is a threat, it will most likely, be very serious, and require immediate, proper response.
“If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.”
I have multiple “early warning” devices, and have no intention of becoming a statistic.
Wow, in one day we go from the sublime to the butt-ugly. Savage rifles (esp. 99s) may be attractive, but that Stance ain’t.
That Stance may be fugly, but does it work? Having read up on the BauHaus and other early industrial schools, I’m a believer in “form follows function”, or “function over form”. The pistol may not be the prettiest (bless St Browning, Howitzer be his name), but if it works to put down perps, and protect oneself, then the gun has fulfilled its primary function, aesthetics be damned.
