California would-be victim manages to get robbers’ gun, uses it against them shooting one dead

A man near the University of Southern California fought back against three armed would-be robbers, killing one of them with a gun they dropped during the altercation.Three armed men in their 20s exited a vehicle early Saturday morning in South Los Angeles and attempted to rob the unidentified man, Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson Norma Eisenman told the Los Angeles Times.
An altercation broke out after the victim resisted complying with the suspects. One of the suspected robbers then dropped his handgun, and the victim picked it up and shot the suspect, according to police.

Person inside NE Portland apartment shoots and kills armed man trying to force his way inside
Police said the victim, Omar Greely, was shot and killed by a person inside the apartment after he tried to force his way inside the apartment and fired a shot.
PORTLAND, Ore. — A person inside an apartment in Northeast Portland shot and killed a man who police say was armed with a handgun and fired a shot after trying to force his way inside the apartment on Monday.
On Friday, the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) identified the victim as 41-year-old Omar Greely. After an autopsy, the Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office ruled his death a homicide.
The shooting happened at 10:52 a.m. Monday at an apartment on Northeast 66th Avenue near Broadway. PPB said the person who shot and killed Greely called 911, stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Whoever wrote the Portland news article needs to look up the definition of victim. As to (see what Hack did there?) the death ruled homicide, it really should be classified as natural causes, as this is what should happen to people with anger control problems and/or attempting their own version of the redistribution of wealth.
In this case when they use ‘victim’ my brain replaces it with ‘public service recipient’.
Omar Greely seems to havedone FA and FO’ed.
Was a time reporters wrote, “Police identified the dead man as …” Victim is not a decision to be made by one who reports what happened. But, hey, I’m still waiting for the space ship.
Although not wishing to defend anyone in that prog paradise known as Portlandia, the coroner is correct. Homicide is merely a person who dies at the hands or agency of another. Such death is not necessarily criminal. Thus, a killing in self defense is still a homicide but is justifiable. A homicide may also result from an accident with no criminal liability. That is what ol’ Alec Baldwin is hoping for from the Santa Fe DA.
I guess the guy in South Los Angeles didn’t get the memo that he was supposed to comply with the armed thieves, and “be a good witness.”

Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the Madison South Neighborhood in Northeast Portland. When police arrived they found a man, later identified as Omar Greely, who had died.
According to police, early evidence suggests Greely was armed with a handgun and attempting to break into an apartment when he was shot by someone inside.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy and determined Greely died of a gunshot wound. His death was ruled a homicide.
Status: The person who shot and killed Greely called 911 and remained at the scene, according to police. That person has not been identified.

Can the late Omar Greely’s recent demise be attributed to COVID? Just asking because those on the left say the uptick in crime is a result of the COVID Pandemic. And the silver lining to this cloud is that when Grandma Greely sets out the Christmas Dinner, there will be a little more turkeys sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce for everyone.
It’s not crime per se, Hack. Mister Greely was just looking for “bread” and “living this generation’s World War 2”.

According to the news reports Mister Greely was just trying to collect some of those sweet reparations he was due via a home invasion. So the dreaded Chicom flu had nothing to do with what stopped his heart. But his corpse mighta been positive, so under CDC guidelines he has likely been reported as a Chicom flu death so the hospital can collect it’s $13k.
