Attack armed people, win Darwin award. How that goes.
Glad we still the the right to self defense…in some places and some situations. For these two (2) cases, it coulda went either way.
Nice linky on the design of His Most Saintly John Moses Browning (Howitzer Be His Name) and the manufactory of Colonel Samuel Colt (God created man, Colt made ’em equal). I draw your attention to a quote from the article; “…minimum caliber for military handguns is .45.” Heh heh Need I say more. Might want to check out the the gunz girl from a 1911 Mexican Revolution pic showing Ms Thang with the 1902 Colt’s and the bandoliers. The Stranger is prolly going Hubba Hubba as we speak.
Speaking of Hubba Hubba…today’s depiction shows the alluring clean lines, exceptional construction, excellent framework, an overwhelming desire to snuggle that thing in close to your shoulder and fire away.
The rifle is nice too!

“….allocated $4000 for the purchase of 200 of the Military Model”
Wow! That’s “only” $20 per gun!
Ahhhhh, to be able to travel back in time with today’s inflated dollars and buy a few of those early pre-1911 guns (especially in 45)
What a collector’s treasure trove that would be.
Note the forward-located slide serrations on that 1902. Someone reinvented those in the 1980s for custom 1911s.
