If you’re trying to deny kids a proper in-person education, I’m going to stand in your way and I’m going to stand up for the kids in Florida. If you’re trying to restrict people, impose mandates, if you’re trying to ruin their jobs and their livelihoods, and their small business, if you are trying to lock people down, I am standing in your way and I’m standing for the people of Florida…
…So why don’t you do your job, why don’t you get this border secure, and until you do that I don’t want to hear a blip about COVID from you. Thank you.

But….if you read the ‘polls’ coming out. Desantis is upside down in a hypothetical race against Charlie Crist. Sure.
The same Charlie Crist who jumped out of the GOP as soon as he lost the US Senate nomination? The same Charlie Crist who abandoned his party and donors? Yeah, that political chameleon, yeah right, he’s about as ahead of DeSantis as Biden was ahead of Trump in Florida.
Just like Andrew Gillum was 5% ahead on ALL the polls up to the night prior to the election.

Holy hell did Florida dodge a bullet with that one. While DeSantis was proving he was the right choice last year that crooked Gillum was doing dope like he’s a Biden, watching friends OD, and being too inebriated to talk to the police.
Some analysis of that poll:
“Nearly 9% of respondents were in the Jacksonville area, 62.1% were white”
Florida is 77% white so there may be some minor issues with methodology here since 89% of black voters swing Democrat. The highly liberal Jacksonville area accounts for only about 4.5% of the population and seem to be a bit over represented at double that.
The point of the poll wasn’t to be reliable of course, but simply to provide false data in support of bashing DeSantis on account of him being a potential threat in 2024 to the Harris reelection campaign.
They stretched the truth as much as they could, Even so…
“While his lead is barely within the poll’s 1.6% margin of error, 45% of respondents indicated they’d vote for Crist, a Democrat who formerly served as Governor as a Republican, while just 44% said they’d cast a ballot for DeSantis. Another 11% are still undecided.”

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but haven’t most countries that are “mandating” the vaccine first closing their borders? Isn’t that what the last President did, before “we” knew what this was, i.e., 99+% survivable? Wasn’t the idea to manage the virus with the population we had before we add more to the population via open borders?
The meme running around about this – “I’ll believe the government believes this is about a virus and protecting Americans when they close the borders” is proven more accurate by the day.
Meanwhile, I had Covid last October (suspected, not confirmed as I didn’t get tested), was “required” to get the shot in May and am currently out of commission for the 2nd week with vertigo, which I’m now being told is a symptom of the Delta variant. Yep, have to go get treated (again) at either a quick care or the ER as my doctor is completely booked. I’ve already been told I will need to be tested, too. Because sinus-related fluid in the ears can only be Covid, dontchaknow.
…and DeSantis almost makes me want to move to Florida. Love that guy, hope he doesn’t have dirt on the Clintons.
Well, if sinus-related fluid in the ears is Covid-related, put me down as being infected. But, being vaccinated, maybe the symptoms are just a heads-up that I’m allergic to all of the pollen blowing out of the trees around here. Matter of fact, the allergy pill I take every morning seems to have cleared up the cough and nasal drip pretty well.
It’s a nice tough-guy sentiment, but it presupposes that Biden (and DeSantis) can’t do multiple things at once. In the real world, I want both of them to do their jobs: Biden to work on the border issues and COVID issues, and DeSantis to do his part to address the COVID issues in Florida.
As of a few days ago, Florida was 6.5% of the US population and yet a whopping 20% of COVID cases and deaths in the previous week.
LC – living in Florida I can tell you that we have been and still are over-run with out of staters. I live in a heavy tourism-based area and see 1 out of state license plate for every Fla tag. we even had Canadians come down on holiday. get shot 1 as soon as they arrived and shot 2 before they headed back fully vaccinated. I don’t know if the tourist #s are factored in. I doubt it
Orlando, right? I’m in Lakeland. DeSantis is talking a good game, but can he back it up if Biden wanted to make an example out of DeSantis? 🤔

I highly doubt they’re factored in either – but, at the end of the day, it’s still DeSantis’s state, and thus his responsibility, just as the border issues are Biden’s.
In both cases, too, it’s a somewhat ‘soft’ criticism for me – both are wrestling with problems that are hard. Every state is seeing an uptick in cases, and Florida’s isn’t the highest rate, even if they have a disproportionate number. But it’s still DeSantis’s responsibility.
And the Biden administration is looking to speed up the processing of deportations and asylum claims, the latter being something our laws offer to people. That’ll help, but how much? One of the relatively rare things I agreed with President Trump on was the need for more CBP personnel, but unfortunately, recruiting hasn’t been very successful, and they’ve lost more from retirement or job changes than they’ve gained, at least when I last checked. And Biden is bound by a Federal budget that gave them less money for CBP than requested. But it’s still his responsibility.
I tend to think if we were a less divided country, we’d make more progress on all these types of challenges, because we’d care less about ‘sticking it’ to politicians of the opposite party, and more about getting shit done for the betterment of the country.
Nope. Biden needs to shut his pie hole, you libs need to stop trying to destroy the Constitution, the Feds need to close the southern border, and De Santis needs to CONTINUE to do his job–which he excelling at.
I know that you Branch Covidians and Maskurbators are sooooooooo scared of teh COVID, but here in the real world, most of us are not.

Acording to WFTL 850 Florida radio this morning, cnn skewed the Florida numbers. They put all the stats into one pile and not breaking down the numbers so it looks like Florida is in the lead. Same deal as a person comes into the ER with 8 gunshots wounds to the head and China Virus is put down as the cause of death plus the number of cases doesn’t mean that the person has the Chi Com virus and the deaths are less than the cnn political party says. Their should be a vote in the next election to go back to two political parties instead of 3 like the lame stream media. and remember that they and Fauci have to keep the Chi-Com virus going and never end so as to keep the population not seeing what is going on with the Supreme Leaders policies and leadership.
I live in Florida and get to experience first-hand the Dems and Lib’s hatred of DeSantis. They view him as the devil incarnate and fear him as the second coming of Trump. Last week, I sat in a Starbucks waiting on the groomers to finish my dogs (Shih Tzu’s; and dumber than dumb) and two Lib’s, one wearing an AP hat, ragged on DeSantis’s recklessness for not mandating masks. The funny thing, neither one of the Lib’s wore a mask.
