Natl Guard deploying to DC for inauguration, Sending more troops than in Iraq and Afghanistan combined

| January 12, 2021 | 102 Comments

Jeff LPH 3 sent in this story. According to Military Times,

The Defense Department has authorized as many as 15,000 troops to be deployed to Washington, D.C., for the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden.

National Guard Bureau chief Gen. Daniel Hokanson said that there will initially be a deployment of 10,000 troops — an increase of about 4,000 from those in D.C. now.

That figure is twice the number of U.S. troops in Afghanistan and Iraq combined.

“Right now we have 10,000 inbound and we’re authorized to go to [15,000],” said the NGB chief. The troops will assist District and federal agencies with “security, logistics, communications, and liaison missions,” he said.

Now get this tidbit;

Asked whether the Guard was taking special measures to screen the deploying troops — many of whom are already on their way to D.C. — for extremist ties, Hokanson said he was “not aware of that at this time.”

Colorado Rep. Jason Crow, who served as an Army officer in the 75th Ranger Regiment, had pressed Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy to direct a “[Criminal Investigative Division] review of troops deployed for the inauguration to ensure that deployed members are not sympathetic to domestic terrorists.”

For some reason, Military Times leaves out the customary notation about political affiliation on the Representative. Which is strange as he blanketly casts doubt on the loyalties of the citizen soldiers coming to protect him. I did the Googling so you can save yourself the time. Congressman Crow is a Democrat. You’ll perhaps remember Crow as one of the real heroes of the day last week.

How far away from loyalty oaths are we? Since last week, voting for Trump is an “extremist tie.”

Lars will be by to explain why Trump
Supporters are indeed domestic terrorists. Right after he wakes up late this morning.

Oh…. and to help save boomers by reminding them to wear a mask.

Crow has gone Communist lite. I would love to hear some story’s from the men he was in charge of.

  3. NEC338x says:

‘On Sunday, New Jersey Rep. Tom Malinowski took to Twitter to express his concerns regarding the potential sympathies of troops, saying, “I’m increasingly worried about this problem in the ranks.”’

To solve the ‘political problem’ in the ranks, we just need to adopt the Soviet zampolit. That will fix everything. Add some weekly political training in with the diversity training.

    • SFC D says:

So are we to now require our military personnel to swear an oath to support the President, and not the constitution? Gee, what could go wrong there?

That’s alway progressives’ favorite sexual fantasy (after cuckold play, of course) for some reason… must be the black uniforms.

      • Commissar says:

        They are supporting the constitution.

The ones trying to overthrow the election are the ones putting their loyalty and obedience to Trump over their duty to the constitution.

Trump has committed multiple criminal acts while trying to stay in office despite losing the election.

And those trying to help him are betraying the constitution.

Those using violence to support him are traitors.

        • David says:

You do realize this is a self-appealing argument? You define “appealing the election” as a crime and everything flows from there… on that basis most of the Democrat party should have been executed in 2017. Null argument.

        • SFC D says:

And you are a fraud. I support the constitution. I do NOT support questionable elections. It is my right and my duty as an American to do so. Was there fraud? Maybe, maybe not. What I do know is that a lot of states revised their election laws in flagrant violation of their state constitutions, opening the doors to quick and easy fraud. I’m 100% in favor of investigating the states that may have violated their own laws, whether or not it was intentional. Federal and State governments are answerable to their citizens, and should always be questioned, party affiliation be damned.

        • AW1 Rod says:

Having this many Guardsmen in DC for the installation of the Senile Socialist Sundowner is probably the only way they could get anyone to attend the “event.”

        Hmmmm …. that sounds familiar….

Maybe we should start calling him Sepp ….

Were it not so pitiful, it would be amusing how frightened our masters are of the rest of us. Perhaps they would not be so paranoid if they were kinder, more honorable people.

  5. Slow Joe says:

This Jason Crow dude, anyone seen his DD214?
Are we sure he is not a faker or embellisher?

I don’t know. I have a hard time trusting anything said by a Democrat. They believe the end justifies the means, which means they will lie, cheat, and kill to achieve their goals, regardless of the moral and ethical implications.

  6. 11B-Mailclerk says:

So is Crow asking for personal loyalty oaths to Biden* ?

    SiliconNacht is progressing.

    • KoB says:

Saw all of this coming, didn’t we? Wonder when the Blue Helmets will show up?

“Wreak havoc and let loose the Dogs of War!”

    • Commissar says:

Stop acting like Biden is being the authoritarian.

He is not even in office yet.

And you assholes are the ones supporting throwing out our election and installing a despot.

      • 11B-Mailclerk says:

        Quisle off somewhere else.

      • SFC D says:

Negative, you narrow-minded fraud. We are in favor of legal and accurate elections, and I question this one. We already had a despot in office, his name was Barrack Obama. “I have a pen and a phone”.

      • Forest Bondurant says:

        Give it a rest, dickhead.

This time 4 years ago, people like you and your political party were already making arguments about election fraud – suggesting the Trump administration would be “authoritarian”.

Meanwhile, snowflakes were screaming about “Not My President” and generally shitting themselves – all before Trump was in office.

The left spent 4 years screaming election fraud, and now doing their level best to say it’s not possible.

  7. Commissar says:

Thousands of Q d’eTwats are threatening attacks.

We have a death cult of brainwashed traitors who are trying to overthrow the democratic republic and install a despot. And many plan to arrive there days in advance. And armed.

15,000 is not the number of troops they needed to secure the inauguration…

It is a number intended to serve as a huge deterrent.

Whether an attack happens or not there will be hundreds of angry conspiracy theory addled shitheads in the area looking to disrupt the inauguration or send a message.

So there is also a need to plus up security at other potential targets in DC.

  8. Devtun says:

Rent a crowd. Well, you know Sleepy Joe might have a captive audience of 20 – 0k maybe 30. So some filler is needed.

  9. Slow Joe says:

The big question is, could have the Democrats stolen the election without covid19?

    I don’t think so.

So the Chicoms release the kraken, I mean, the covid19, and then the Democrats use it to steal the presidential election, therefore, China.

  10. Commissar says:

After reading the comments; this blog has been overrun by fucking traitors.

You all support overthrowing a free and fair election and installing a despot.

    It is disgusting.

No evidence supports your excuses. Just conspiracy theories and a fucking in exec useable and intransigent level of ignorance.

The transcripts of the election lawsuits are public. You lazy fucks could just read them and see that not only did they have an opportunity to present evidence eon most of them, but in some the judges demanded the present evidence.

The only times they did not have a chance to present evidence is when they lacked standing. Like Texas trying to sue other states for how they handled their elections. A bullshit lawsuit that they knew had no merits and was only meant as a performance, a favor for a Trump, so that Ken Paxton, a corrupt piece of shit, could get a pardon for his federal charges.

I truly have never been more disgusted with a group of people than I am with all the Q d’eTwat scumbags.

You are traitors. Literally. Not hyperbole. Literally. Genuinely.

      Lay of the Focalin homegirl.

    • 11B-Mailclerk says:

      Wrong.

Last I checked, going to court, protesting, etc, are all protected by the constitution. Speech, petition, the guarantee of a Republican form (structure, not party), etc.

Absolutely guaranteed, even if that rises to “this is bogus” or “this was stolen”.

Your ” treason” accusation thus fails the constitution test, as it is quite specified.

Stop wiping your ass with you commission, major. It’s unbecoming, and you look dumb.

Says the guy who aided and abetted avowed Marxists.

    • Berliner says:

“You all support overthrowing a free and fair election and installing a despot.

      It is disgusting.”

It’s only fair when election observers from BOTH parties are allowed to observe the counting of the votes. Observing means being able to visually inspect the ballot and observe the ballot counter recording the vote reflecting the will of the voter. Been there/done that.

      • pookysgirl, WC wife says:

You know those Atlanta officials caught on video counting votes after Republican observers left the building? Yeah, I had to deal with them last week because I work for an election reporting website that covered the special election. I flagged any suspicious numbers I found, but once again, there was a huge vote dump overnight that tipped the election towards the Democrats. Very frustrating.

    • SFC D says:

You are free to leave. You don’t have to post here. You’re no better than the “Q d’eTwat scumbags”. You swim in the same sewer. Be disgusted, nobody cares. Just do it elsewhere. Start your own forum. It’ll be small, a forum of one, but it’ll be all yours.

    • 5JC says:

Looking for an appropriate place to pose a coupla questions. Since this thread has already been hijacked, will put them here in spite of the fact that they have nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Did any of the idiots breaching the Capitol last week actually hear the speech at the Ellipse? If they did, how did they get to the Capitol? It’s a bit of a hike from one to the other. The logistics of getting from one place to the other quickly would be difficult if not impossible. Seems like a charge of inciting would need proof that the bad actors actually heard the words which were supposed to incite them.

Is it possible that those who broke stuff were doing so prior to the words which supposedly ignited their actions were even spoken?

I dunno. The timeline is important.

    • KoB says:

Trump’s speech cause the riots just as a music video caused the Benghazi Riots.

“At this point, what difference does it make.”

      • Poetrooper says:

Ol’ Poe would wager that the same folks screaming about Trump’s words inciting the Capitol violence would argue tooth and nail that violent anti-cop and misogynistic Rap lyrics don’t incite violence against cops and women.

        • Mason says:

“I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.” – Donald J Trump 6 Jan, 2021 at the Capitol Mall.

          What an incitement to violence.

          • Forest Bondurant says:

But to the media, Twitter, FB and people like Lars, words like “everyone” “marching” “peacefully” “patriotically” and “make your voices heard” have different connotations when applied to conservatives.

            Words have different meaning now.

(Remember the “peaceful protests”, which was Lars-speak for the wonton destruction of private and federal property, looting, and violence – all without accountability?)

Me neither. It wasn’t that long ago, but it’s obvious folks who haven’t been paying attention have already forgotten.

    • 11B-Mailclerk says:

I assume they had phones, thus could listen in real-time.

They were in well before he was done however.

    • xyzzy says:

I’ve walked it myself. It’s not that far. Maybe half an hour if you double time it.

      So…possible, but unlikely.

      • OWB says:

Cameras would prove that they were hoofing it, right? Not that a group of folks rapidly moving toward the Capitol would draw any attention. Naw, ‘specially all those black clothes and helmets. And stuff.

So, where we those folks during the speechifying?

  13. At least crow has nothing to Crow about himself being a Ranger but only qualified.

  14. xyzzy says:

This video came out in 2001. Every time I read of the sedition at the Capitol, I think of this video.

What did Rammstein know that we didn’t? 🤔

  15. Where were the 15,000 Natl. Guard nongender troops during all the arson, looting and mayhem going on in the demoRat cities?????

Admin: You need to get an Edit Post feature on here. 🧐

  17. xyzzy says:

I’m a Trump supporter; I don’t blame myself. Also, a lot of them had Trump flags. That makes them Trump supporters.

I also said ‘Proud Boy type groups’. Meaning groups like the Proud Boys. Not just them, but groups like them.

Also, where is your proof that Antifa staged this?

    • Poetrooper says:

“Also, a lot of them had Trump flags.”

Um, never heard of a “False Flag” op?

I’m not saying it was but the flags prove nothing…

    • Slow Joe says:

So, you believe the media a face value.

Haven’t you learned anything yet about how the media operates?

    • 11B-Mailclerk says:

A very well documented hard-lefty was inside the Capitol Building. He said he was “documenting” the event, so the authorities, who seem to be out to arrest anyone anywhere possibly involved, skipped him.

      Odd, that.

I do not, for one minute, believe that BS “excuse”. Those orgs don’t act alone.

    • UpNorth says:

Throughout the summer, who showed up at “protests” wearing black clothing, wearing helmets and carrying shields? With pipes and baseball bats sticking out of their black back packs? Were they Trump supporters, or were they on the far left end of the political spectrum?

    • timactual says:

Since all the bad things I have read about the Proud Boys have been opinions in the media (and Clarence Thomas is a racist, too!) I am not going to condemn them quite yet. Anybody got any actual evidence of their alleged racism, etc.?
